I have a picture box with a label underneath it. The text of that label changes based on events. The problem I have, is when the text changes the label is no longer centered underneath my picture box.
View 5 RepliesI have a moving label in FrmAbout and when the form initially opens for the first time the label moves from right to left exactly how it should, but when that window is closed and then re-opened the label continues moving from the position it was in when the window was closed. How can I reset the labels position to the starting position when the form as been opened or closed?Here is the code that I currently have inside the Tick Event. I have tried resetting the timer, thinking that maybe that would work, but it has not.

The errors all seem to be declarations for the lines of the array (strHello(x) = "xxxxx xxxxx")... What declaration am I missing? and how do I make the list give a random response to change the label text?
I cant seem to find any link or topic regarding my problem. I have 2 forms in a project, form one has labels and adjacent combobox while the other form (form 2)has textboxes with adjacent combobox. I am supposed to change the text property of the labels using textbox entry from form 2 and add/delete/change combobox contents in fom 1 using entries combobox at form 2.

I've implemented the localization in my windows application with no problem for the label or command button which have a fixed text.
My problem is related to the label which text is merged with some variables or object properties.
E.g.: vb label1.text = "There are " & myDataGridView.Rows.Count.ToString() & " items"
So, how can I set (if it's possible) the localization for these labels? I've this kind of assignment in modules and not in the form. It's possible to set a resources file also for modules?

View 8 RepliesI am developing a testing application consisting of 50 multiple choice questions each with 3 radio buttons to select the answer choices for my workplace and I just had a couple of questions concerning storing user input for review and displaying the next and previous questions. First - Would it be more practical to display each new question and the answer choices on a completely new form or in labels and just have the click event procedure of the Next button change the text properties of the labels and display the new text? Second - I want the application to store the user's answer choices so that at the end of the exam they can see how many they missed, which ones they got wrong, and then print the graded result. I have no idea how to store the input for later review and printing. Lastly - I would like the user to be able to mark questions for later review as they are taking the exam. For example, if the user selects an answer that they are not 100% sure of, the can mark a checkbox so that at the end of the exam they can review the answers they were unsure of. I guess I am just looking for some direction in developing this type of application. As of yet I have only done simple projects for school and this to me seems a bit out of my league. I have already designed the user interface and created a TOE chart but I would like some input on how to actually code the application.

In a piece of code I am writing I am trying to change the text of a label in my form based on a timer. I have MANY other labels that are all updating in their own subs and when I try to add any new labels(in any sub) to update it wont. I am using Label.Text = counter where counter is a string that is changing. I have tried refreshing the form, Label.refresh() Label1.Update()....The only thing I think it could be is that the redraw is being held up by other calculations on the cpu. I have designed a windows form(to act as a messagebox) with Label and OK, Cancel buttons. I'm on form1 and call this messagebox form in the closing event. If I debug the showdialog of the messagebox form the custom text is displayed on the Label, however if the application is minimized and when i right click on the application in taskbar and select close window then the messagebox form is poped up however the label doesn't show the custom text.

I'm attempting to make a scrolling text label at the bottom of a form. It is the type of scroll you can see on the weather station when there is a tornado warning out. I was wondering if someone could help me go about doing it?
Basically, I am trying to have a label, which scrolls smoothly. The scroll text will be the contents of a string variable. I was also wondering if it would be possible to have the entire scroll "disappear" as the end of it scrolls onto the left side of the screen, then it pauses for a moment, and starts the scroll again, playing an alert tone each time.
How can I set my labels to align on the right even when they have diffrent lenghts. I have a set of labels which are occuring next to each other and also underneath each other. The problem now is that they always align from the left within the label row,but I need them to align on the right as they are showing sums from other rows. Just to verify I am not talking about the text align I am looking for a solution to align my labels.

On click of this link I am invoking another form and some process is being done. On saving the count 30 will be reduced by one. Like this many link lables with diffrent headings will be there. Now problem is when I finishe the process and come back to the parent form, the refresh is not happening, thou I am refreshing it. I need to log out and log in to get the correct number again.
