I am engaged in a project to alert Paper out status of printer in screen on top of all other windows. I am new to VB programming... I tried the codes given in Microsoft Support. But it gives many errors as I'm using Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition.[url]......
A new client has recently asked me to develop a Windows service that will monitor whether or not his server has internet connectivity. The service should log when the connection goes down to Local Only and back up to Internet Access as shown in Network and Sharing Center.
My original idea was to have the service ping a website like google every 5 minutes or so, but I don't know how to retrieve the results of the ping, so I then thought I could code a WebBrowser control into it and write the log entries based on the results of connection attempts from that.
This also seems like a rather impractical idea though, so can anyone suggest the best way to go about this?
The below code (VB 2008) will check the print queue every milisecond for a job. It will then show the pagecount in a text box. It works great when im printing to a local printer, but As soon as I change my pc default printer to a network printer, I cant capture any data.
I use Visual Basic 8.0 and Windows 7 Prof. and Deskjet 720c.To print a document i use PrintDocument component I want to Check status of local printer My problem is, if de printer if offline of not connected every print job is then automatically sent to the print spooler of Deskjet 720c.I try to use Try Catch, But this does not work I get no error message
I have searched all over and can not find the printqueue anywhere. I'm using VS 2008 Pro, and .NET 3.5. I'm writting in Visual Basic.I create my document then send it to a previous selected printer. I do not give the user a printdialog I handle all the settings in the code. My problem is when the printer is not online, it triggers an unhandled exception. I would like to check the status of the printer just before the printdoc is sent, so that I can handle what to do when the printer is offline.
The main issue here, whether the ZPL printer is on/off, the status always shows as "Ready", there is no change in the status.made use off couple codes which i googled, but none have turned out to show me the printer status.
Is there any other way to indentify the status of the ZPL printer/ any other alternative [url]...
The problem seen to appear again in printing job...I have a printer(Epson TM-T88IV Receipt)Before printing, i would like to check if printer is available for printing or not (connect or not). if not, i will show the print preview form. otherwise it will print automatically
How to check the printer status before printing the report. i am using print dialog to print the report. i want to check the printer is on or off or printer is ready before report is send to printer.
i want to insert a function that check the selected printer status when user click on the print button. if printer works fine then print report else alert the user to set the printer.
Company's software: MS Access User Interface and SQL Server backend. Visual Studio VB Express Edition.
I received an assignment to automatically update the job status in a drop down list from "In Progress" to "Finished" after the 3D printer has printed succesfully and "Crashed" if not successfully.
I was thinking to do the following:
New project/Class library/the code: Public Class Class1 Private Sub PRINT_JOB_Click() Dim myjob As Job
Now for a succesful insertion i want to notify the user about a successful save operation.....i.e,i want to display a message "Successful Save Operation"to the user. How to do this using the Status Strip?
I've got the code to display the current browser status text in the status bar but i want it to display the name of my web browser aswell. Example: Dreamincode.net - (Name of Webbrowser)
He is my code for the displaying staus text. Private Sub webBrowser1_StatusTextChanged( _ ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) _ Handles webBrowser1.StatusTextChanged
I want to print an array WebBrowser each time to a different printer without changing the default Printer (not to use the SetDefaultPrinter function) I tried to work with the PrintDocument object(he have the Print function and also i can choose a printer name) but I cant attach the
For my current application development I need direct printing technique,For the purpose I refer Microsoft Support page Titled"How to send raw data to a printer using VB.Net "The code snippnet specified is perfect for my application.Refers link [URL]But I need something more like Setting the Printer font to Condensed.By default my printer use the font 10cpi ,by using this font size I limited to print only 80char on A4 sheet, but I have more than 80 char on line so I prefer Condensed font size.
get a list of printer's (name, port, model) from a computer over the network. I know how to list my own, but it's from querying the Win32_printer object on my machine, I need to be able to do something similar on a remote machine.
1. Detect if my printer is busy, because my code tells the printer to print more pages that it can cope with, so I need to delay the command for 'Print the next page' until the printer has finished printing the previous one.
2. Shift the output to my printer so that it gets printed in it's entirety on the paper, instead of seemingly being anchored to some nebulous point on the A4 page. It starts printing at X = 29mm from the left edge, and Y is 28mm from the top, and stops at X = 22mm from the right edge and Y stops at 22mm from the bottom edge, leaving (aprox) 50mm of X and 50mm of Y unprinted.
3. Get useful information on Bounds, which I'm fairly certain is what I need to control where my printing should start and finish.
I've hunted through this forum, MSDN, 'Help' (a misnomer if ever there was one) the VB Library and one or two other forums, which either baffle me with reams of code or suggest code to try which either just don't work or which doesn't declare all the variables and usually don't suggest what type of variable I need, it's all very frustrating
I have a label printer (Argox 1000-x) and i want to print some datas on it. And this printer is connected to my computer via the COM1 port. I can open/write COM1. And when i send some data to printer through COM1, Label Printer's Ready Signal Led will be ON/OFF. But it does not print anything or any label..
I have a gridview in which when I click edit, update, and cancel button comes. I have a variable named status. If status=false then update should change to insert and if status=true then update should be update itself.
I'd like to be able to specify two different printers for two different jobs. I'm using the following class to handle printing these, but regardless of what I do, the default printer is always the one that's printed to.[code]If I inspect my PrinterSettings attribute immediately before the call to DrawString, the PrinterName attribute is still correctly set to the printer I specify, but it's still the default printer that kicks out the job.
I am a beginner in network programming with VB 6, I am a beginner in network programming with VB 6,I wanted to ask is how the VB 6 source code to know the bandwidth usage of each client in an Internet cafe, we as a server at the cafe, suppose that we had five clients that are connected directly to server, on the server so we know the bandwidth usage of the clients.
I want to make CPU and RAM Monitoring tool in Vb. But I have no idea and knowledge about this.I can make a GUI for this but I don't know how to implement this.If you have some experience please tell me what references I have to use and what are the functions which will give current status of CPU and RAM. and also guide me how to present this information in the form of continuous graph and progress bar.I shall be thank full to all participants. If you have no experience please refer me some expert sites and groups on internet. I will try to contact them.
I want to create a bandwidth meter for Windows using vb.net, but I cannot seem to find anything in the .net framework for monitoring the amount of data in or out. I want to create this because I cannot find a good one for free, and I think it is something that people might want.If there is nothing in the .net framework for monitoring this, is there some P/Invoke calls I can make? If so, what are they?
I start an external Program using System.Diagnostics.Process.Start I want monitoring when a user has started a new file, saves or opens another file and get the info of the file in current process
I am dynamically adding values to list with each pass of a timer and after each pass I'd like to check if the last five elements in the list have similar values. After some time, the values should start to become constant. In other words, it would plateau.I tried to do this. Made sense to me (newbie) but I am getting errors like the bounds of the array are exceeded:[code]The list definitely works and is getting data from X. I thought I needed to ReDim the array but then I'm told ReDim statement requires an array. (ReDim platArray(Number-1)). By the way I'm using VB2008..
I am trying to create a windows service that sits in the background waiting for programs to be started. When the programs start I want to be able to check a unique bit of information for each program (I believe GUIDs may provide this) to see what the program is. If the program is not allowed, I aim to provide a warning to the user and possibly close the program. The aim of the application is to identify when users are attempting to install additional software on to the computer so simply monitoring for a certain executable wouldn't work as msiexec is called for all MSI's and as I only want to stop blacklisted programs...this wouldnt work
We recently have one problem started where we have two processes monitor the same queue, but the diff b/w both is, one does the PEEK only and the other process it as soon as the message arrives (event driven). Do you think that pointing these 2 processes to the same que cause any problems OR are there something special sync things we need to do?
