I have what I think is impossible to achieve. I am printing labels to a zebra printer. Each label is to be attached to an individual item in a batch. The client wants a separate serial number on each label.

Can I use one print doc and set the copies for each page individually? For instance, I may need 1 label for row one, 3 for row two, and 5 for row 3. Through my testing it looks like it doesn't work that way.

I would like to get the number of copies of a job, in the que and limit the users if they print more than selected copies the the queue should pause it. not the number of pages in a job, the number of copies, and the second thing is , this code works on the local machine, how if a print is sent from the network, is there any way that I can pause that print wich is coming from the network or another machine, on the network, most of my printers are connected through ip, and some are shared printers.

I'm a little baffled why I get this error. Scenario: Printing - 6 different things to print including "Permit" and "Permit Copies". "Permit" looks like a drivers license including a photo."Permit Copies" is exactly the same except it has a piece of text at the bottom that says "Sheriffs Copy".
The problem is when trying to print "Permit Copies". Very few of them shows the print preview - most just display the FileNotFoundException error. If "Permit" pulls up the photo just fine, why not "Permit Copies?" It should be trying to pull up the same photo as "Permit" - same file path/name. Where is it wrong in my code?

I have posted this problem here some some days back back it seems there is no answer for this problem but rather people direct me to use PrintQueueWatch which is an open source namespace to monitor print document.

We have a customer, who prints a large number of a batch job to a reporting service. When printing large batches of jobs, occasionally he would get a WebException from reporting services saying "The underlying connection was closed".What is the work around for this? Somebody added this portion in the code [code]It doesn't seem to fix the issue though. The customer still notices the Web Exception when she prints a large job to reporting service.

Also i am using Crystal Reports for Report solution. my question is How do i created reports such a way that they can be printed in faster Ascii Format on any DotMatrix printer. The default true type fonts make printing very slower.
I tried to use "Draft 10 cpi" font which come to available me after i installed a correct driver for my Epson printer. which also helped me overcome this problem. however it wont be the scenario with all my clients i.e. they might have different printers having different Make with different drivers installed. i have tried to open such project on there PC but the printing wont come in Draft instead the fonts get expanded too much & the print wont come right.
I basically have an application that generates reports in a .html file, I use a .html file for the ease of making tables and formatting text.Now I would like to introduce a way of printing the reports from my program. Because I use a .html file, the formatting would not the correct if I was to print it directly from my application (as far as I know). I use a timer which checks if there is any file to be printed on my database. Example, the timer ticks and selected 10 files to be printed, it should print the 10 files 1 at a time, if there's no print queue, that's the only time the next file should print. I think another timer is required which will keeps on checking if print queue is done. How will i do this?

View 3 RepliesI'm looking for a way to have my code build two copies of itself at once.The program has an "A" and a "B" configuration that need to be compiled as Prog-A.exe and Prog-B.exe every time the code is compiled. I can do this manually, but I assume there's some way to do it in code? What I'd like is to use conditional compilation to have the A configuration compile so that it runs a "setup as A"-type method on load, and the B likewise, and then have it compile both versions each time.

I am setting up printing (to a printer or file) in my application, and it doesn't seem to print out any new lines that I specify. Here's some of my printing

When I print the output to a PDF file using PDFCreator, it stacks all of the letters onto each other rather than creating new lines at the places I've specified. I've also tried using vbNewLine instead of vbCrLf, but I haven't had any luck. I searched the web for this but couldn't find anything about it.

i have 2 listviews in which folder and files are loaded. i'm trying to make a function that, when "Copy" button is pressed copies files/ folders between listviews (between folders "ex: from "D:path" to "E:pathsubpath"). the codes of file copy and folder copy both work but not if add the file.exists / folder.exists lines. if i put a msgbox instead of the filecopy/ foldercopy it displays "file exists" or "folder exist" etc. .. but if add the file copy / folder copy line doens't do nothing.

I have a loop that copies a file from the internet and writes it to disk (using a WebRequest and Response with a Stream and FileStream).Once in the loop if the internet connection breaks, the loop continues but without downloading any content (even if the internet connection is back up). I cant seem to catch this exception. If i check for a valid internet connection within the loop then the speed to download the file is way too slow
View 3 RepliesI have an external harddrive and I usually backup my desktop with a cleanup folder which I usually move to the external harddrive.
The problem is: when I search for a file (i.e. example.mp3) I will find multiple copies which are taking up way too much space.
Is there an app or some code that can search for an extension (i.e. .mp3) and if it finds more than one copy of the same file, it can delete the extra file?
The reason I ask is: I have around 1300 different mp3s on my external harddrive and most of them are extra copies of the same mp3. When I search for the extension mp3 and I want to move all of the mp3s to a single folder I am prompted way too many times for overwriting or keeping the same mp3 file.
I need an app that can force the move without prompting and delete the extra copies; so, I am left with only one copy of each.

mp3 files on external hard drive for backup:
song.mp3 > in one folder
song.mp3 > in another folder

We have a construction company and I am designing a program in Visual basics for it. This program is intended to be installed only on the computers in our office ( its not going to be distributed ). There is always a risk that one of our employees will take our software and distribute it . Is there anyway to prevent this. If not how can we make this as difficult as possible?
