I went to load an app I was working on before my system died a few days back and I loaded up VB Express 2010 .Net, opened my project and saw this error ...
Error1Unable to find manifest signing certificate in the certificate store.HexHelperProject
If this is related to the Security Certificates stored by XP, then I'm in trouble as they are GONE. Must I start a new project and rebuild this whole app?
I am having an issue getting the below error. This error is in a small mail app using smtpClient. I had this working on this same computer but had to reformat and now I am getting the error. The error does not display anymore info then what is below and do not know where or how to fix it.error: Unable to find manifest signing certificate in the certificate store.
I have a question regarding publishing vis ClickOnce. For the publish options, there is a Publishing Folder Location and there is a Installation Folder URL. clarify the difference between Publish and Install, and when it would be apropriate for the two to be different?

About publishing my program. there's a lot of files made after publishing unlike in vb6 when i converted it to exe file theres only one file. hmm how can i make just one exe file in vb9 is it possible? another question do i have to install the program after publishing?
I have VB project and I tried to use PUBLISH feature. It seems to create nicely some kind of setup program, but the setup program does not ask where to copy files (it does not seem to copy filesto target machine "PROGRAM FILES".)Is this setup program somehow different from usual installers?
NOTE: I want that app files are installed to Hard disk( from USB stick source)Is the signing recommended or necessary? My App is pretty simple, its just using access DB + printer api, should I still sign?
I recently made my own custom control, but is there any way to set the default size of the control when it is created?I did a bit of searching and found that I could change the size of the control at runtime with:
vb Protected Overrides Sub OnHandleCreated(ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Me.Width = 200
[code]....
But the size doesn't update in the design view until I run the program;?
In my ASP.NET(2.0),VB.NET Project, around Around 150 people are using this site inside the companyFrom these 40 Forms ,Can I to publish one Form (Visitor.aspx) to another site
Basically ive a picturebox which ive coded to move around the form, however I can move it off/under the form if i want to if i move it that far. I want it to stop on the edge of the four sides of the form if i move it that far. Basically I want to make sure that when moving the picturebox around, it never goes off the form and stops on the edge of the form if i move it that far.
I'm guessing it's to do with the position command but i cannot quite work it out.
My problem here is that what the loop does is click on another program, thus taking the focus off of mine, how would i be able to make my app see if I press the key even if the form isn't in focus?
I have an MDI Form that contains an MDI Child form. On this child form is a flexgrid. When the user double clicks on a row in the flexgrid this loads another MDI Child form. I have set the following properties on the second child form:
The problem is that if the first MDI child form is in a maximized state and the user double clicks on the flex grid, the second child form loads in a maximized state too! How can I stop this?

This is probably a simple question, but usually I develop ASP using VB.I have a small project where I am in need of creating an executable that will be a process that runs on a schedule with no user interaction. What type of Project do I create?Do I do a Windows Form application, build it and publish just the exe?I really don't need an actual window form, I just need the code to run.
The app i am working on is for creating theme for the iPod touch... It has to deal with LOTS of images (100's potentially) There will be the set of default images, and then the user created replacement images. I started loading all the defaults into a resx file... thinking then I could just pull them out. now that I started setting the default, this sucks! lol the app will do this, on load it will set all the images (variables) to the resx images then when a theme is loaded, it will replace the default with the user image (if the user img exists) otherwise, the default stays. Then the "screen" is drawn to show the user. so, here is just the images to build the wallpaper, dock, and status bar...
Now I did a clean build, and tried to publish, and I get a lot of errors and warnings that I don't understand.

I am writing a little app to take over from Active Desktop as we are using Win7.
I am having problems getting my form to stay open, if the user hits the "Show Desktop" button the form minimises. I need this to stay open at all times in the back ground.
I have disbled the minimise button to stop the users using it.
how I can stop this from happening or if I use a timer to check the windows state it apears normal as it looks like the "Show Desktop" button does not actually minimise the window!
Whenever I create files in VB.net, the results go by default in the bin/Debug folder. I would like them to go in bin/Debug/Test without having to write the actual location, since the project folder may change from user to user (i.e. they don't place their project in the same folder I do).
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Dim textbox1 As New TextBox
[Code].....
When this row GroupBox1.Controls.Add(textbox1) and GroupBox control are being deleted from Form, the TextBox isn't created on the Form after the event is fired.
So I was wondering if anyone has done their own Forms (inheriting windows form and editing the properties) and if so, what your finished result was. And, if you are willing to post a screenshot of your finished result, that would be sweet! Trying to get some ideas of what can be accomplished with customizing the default form.
I want to load a child form which is a login form by default when the parent form is loaded.Right now when I click new file on the toolbar of the parent form, then only the login form is loaded but i want it be loaded by default without clicking anything.
I have 2 forms main_frm and copying_frm. In main_frm, there is a list view that is populated with file names. The user then clicks save and all the files in the list are copied to a folder that they choose using a folder browser dialog. When this happens, I do copying_frm.ShowDialog() to display the copying_frm. The copying_frm contains a progress bar and a cancel button. I can get the progress bar to indicate how much has been copied. But that freezes up the application. To get around this, I create a new thread (called copyingThread) that copies the files. When that thread runs though, it can't access the waitingList_lvw in main_frm. For example, in the function that the copyingThread executes, if I have this line of code: MsgBox(main_frm.waitingList_lvw.Items.Count.ToString()) the result is 0. Also, I don't get any errors and no files are copied. How do I access waitingList_lvw in main_frm from a thread called copyThread that was created in copying_frm?
I've been looking all over the internet, and I couldn't find any decent answers. Obviously, two things to know:1) I'm using VB.2) The Forms are all FULL SCREEN, with the code
i have the following code sliding from the bottom of the main form position to the middle of the main form.
main form Dim Viewform2 As New Form2
[Code]...
no code, just a form thats width 292 and height 266 This code works but its very choppy when the slider form slides up. Also, i am unable to get the opacity correct as well where it fades in and then out when it leaves.
We have somewhat bureaucratic way of making new users to our system. I noticed I had to write same info over and over again to different places (such as AD and our databases). So I desided to make a little application that inserts the info to all the right places with one click. Now I can create new user with one form and push of a button except the client certificate. For that I must login to our certserv and fill in a form.
Is there an easy way to make client sertificate request to the certserv so that it would give me the certificate automatically? I tried to google about it and got some info about the system.security.cryptography, but got stuck before getting any near of requesting new certificate.
