Pulling Information From Another Application?

I'm trying to learn a little about pulling information from other applications and finding it pretty difficult to find what it is I need to do. Let me give you an example of what I'm trying to do and perhaps someone can point me in the direction I need to work in.
I want to read Ventrilo from my VB application, specifically I want to know when someone is talking in the channel I am in. That is my end goal. I can pull the handle using FindWindow

I currently have an unlimited amount of columns and rows in a DataGrid. Pendinginformation from a user I would like to display every row from the datagrid into a checkedListBox but I only want to show specific columns depending on their column Names. Currently my code will display every row. My problem is getting only the selected columns depending on the name of their header.
The code that I have currently is:
For Each row As DataGridViewRow In CSVInput.DataGrid1.Rows

Im just pulling information from SQL and populating textboxes etc.My question is firstly i have an issue because i can figure out how to do it, and secondly is there an easier way of writing this.So my Issue, i wrote a function to connect to SQL and pull information back which is fine it fills DS(Dataset) and then i want to be able to assign the relevant information within the DS to the desired textboxes,

First time actually doing anything with xml so I've been trying to follow some examples but im not getting anywhere with them, can you show me where im going wrong?First off Im pulling an xml file from the web as a string and then loading that into an xml document, heres an example of one:

We are writing a program that pulls a Teacher from a database, then you select the "period" 1 - 7. What is happening is if we pick period 1 on teacher john doe. Then when you pick another teacher it doesn't clear the period that we selected before. How do we clear this information every time we select a different teacher?

I've created a Gridview control that pulls some data from my database, but doesn't display all of the information I'm hoping it gathers. I choose not to display the primary key for user interface purposes, but require that key for basic operations on the grid.I'm currently attempting to add a "Delete" option to the table, but unfortunately I'm having very little luck. Here's my .aspx file.

When it is installed on a machine, it will run for all users. But for some users, it is unable to get some data from the database. I have found out that if it is run-as either administrator,or in winxp compatibility mode, it works. But if not, then some users have the problem.The database is in the same C: drive location as the exe, and it doesn't change from user to user.The computer is using windows 7 professional 32-bit.

I want to add a button to my project that starts the defualt email application.I first need to know what the defalt email application on the enduser computer is.Then I need to retrive the path and the name of the exe file.Then extract the icon form the exe to enhance the button with the icon and application button.

I am writing an app which gets information from a website. Basically I load the webpage into a webbrowser control and parse the document text for what I need.
My problem is: I have a German version of windows. The webpage returned has the German version of the webpage. I require the English version but there is no way of specifying the language in the URL, so it must be picking up the default language of my operating system. How can I override this, is there a property of the Webbrowser control which I can set?

I have an ASP.NET application. It resides within another ASP.NET application. I put my DLL in the other apps bin folder and have a subdirectory with my aspx files. I can't edit the main app's Web.config.
So where can I store configuration settings? For example, this is an app that will get deployed to various clients. I want to store the client name used for display in the headers and such. And the location of a logo file.

I am making a program that stores information for my applications. There are 4 main things I need in the XML file, the login information (User name and password), Application names and keys, and the owner of the application (who bought it). The program allows the user to enter as many applications and owners as they want and once login information is correct it loads the data. Then on exit all the data saves to a XML file.
My XML file looks like this

Im suppose to make an application that tracks electric motors in a manufacturing plant. It needs to have

I was thinking about doing this part in radiobuttons
The application should be able to store at least 10 motor class objects in an array, create an input form in the application that allow users to input new motor records to be added to the array and create another form that displays all the motors in the array in a list box. This is what I got so far, I know its not much, but whats really puzzling me is how am I suppose to show all the data in the listbox in the second form.

I have create a vb.net application with ms access. i am make it .exe.After that i am instal it my pc working but my friends pc not work. I'm trying to make a application with a login system. I want to store user and password information, into the application. So I can access it from my administrator account. I have tried to make a textbox for every username and password,And then save it into my.settings And then I run the finished application, it works fine to store the information. but if I copy the application after I had entered some user/pass information. All textboxes I blank on the other computer.

My application reads information from an Excel spreadsheet into a DataSet (ds1) which is then filtered into another DataSet (ds2) based on user-specified criteria. The information is basically telephone call logs that reflects when a phone call was made,what extension it was made one, how long the call was, what number was called, etc.When the user's "search" criteria is matched in ds1 above, the application adds the number called to a ListBox on the form. When the ListBox Item is selected, additional information (call duration and such) is displayed to the right of the ListBox. My problem is that a single phone number could have been called multiple times on an extension within the date range the user specifies and for each occurrence of that number in the ListBox, the "expanded" info only reflects the information for the 1st call to that number listed in the DataSet.
The only unique identifier I have is the DateTime field for the row (as this goes up to the second). I thought about putting it into the ListBox item, but I'd prefer that this date not be visible until the user selects the ListBox item to view the details for that call. [code]

This is how it works so far.I have a class called "AccountInfo" with some properties such as Account Name, Password, etc... This is bound to a DataGridView via a Bindingsource. I am new to VB; am developing my first VB program; and require some help in getting started. I wish to query information from an Active Directory server using a Visual Basic 2008 console application. I have .NET Framwork 3.5 installed and VB 2008 Express installed. Do I need to install anything else (any additional libraries or components)? Is VB 2008 Express capable of accessing information from Active Directory? Where can I find information about the classes and methods I should use query information from Active Directory?

I am developing an application that reads an MDI applications child window and grabs the information from a control such as a textbox or listbox. I have tried to use Findwindow in order to accomplish this. I have gotten all the way to the control, but once I get there it returns blank. Can anyone point me in the right direction to accomplish this.I am able to read the window title and get the control title but when I send a message to the window it returns 0. Basically i am creating a console application that will create and store client information as a .txt file it is going okay but i have come across a slight hick up i want to use something on the lines of this .....

this works fine to trap out numbers from letters but the problem i am getting is when the program calls uppon LastName it is recording 0 and wanted to know if there is a way of getting past this ..... so basically i need a way to allow letter but not numbers and symbols and then dispay a pernolised error message but at the same time use Stream writer to save was the answer is in a .txt file.
