I wanted to know if there was a way putting items into input fields on another program?
For example, if there is a login form, I want to be able to submit the user amen and password into the fields.
The program is a console program that only accepts keystrokes. It's a program for my work and I want to be able to login to the system, pull up reports and put the results into my form.
I am frustrated with this. Please help. I wanna do it like this:=Iif((Fields!Qty.Value * Fields!UnitCost.Value) + Val(reportitems!txtTUC.Value) = 0.00, "-", (Fields!Qty.Value * Fields!UnitCost.Value) + Val(reportitems!txtTUC.Value))
Is it invalid to multiply different types of item? if so, how can I make it? I just want to get the sum of (UnitCost * Quantity) to be the value of txtTUC.

I am creating a form for our new intranet and I need to have validation on a number of the fields.When I use the Visual Studio textbox it doesn't render the input out as I would have hoped.t adds large amounts of text to the value and name and most importantly it doesn'tclose the input with a forward slash - How do I get the text boxes to add this trailing forward slash and produce validating XHTML input fields?

View 3 Repliesiam currently working on my uni project and i have encountered a problem with valadation section.My system displays a message telling the user to input any fields that they have missed out on, listing the name of the field. However as these IF functions are in order the user must input the data in the order of how it is in the code. for example if the "consweight" is inputed and the calculate button is pressed, it thinks that all valadation above it has occured, when those fields are still empty.

But from everything I've read though, I'm completely lost.
I have to submit a HTML form to a 3rd party website and one of the hidden fields is an XML string. The XML needs escaping before it is sent to the 3rd party.
However when I add the plain XML to the form field it semi-escapes it for me. So then when I use HTMLEncode myself part of the XML is double-escaped. How do I prevent the automatic escaping that appears to becoming from .NET.
Or even better how else can send the escaped XML via the hidden field.

I have a procedure at the end of my console application that ask the user to either hit enter to end the program, or type s to perform another search. The issue I'm having is no matter what the user types in the program end. What I would like to happen is if the user types s, then the program starts over and lets the user perform another search. The program is procedural and I need to find a way to start back off at the top of the program which ask the user to type a name to search.

View 1 RepliesI was wondering if it was possible to generate fields or details (they are called in IDE) of a xml tables .When you create a database than go into the Datasources and find the table you want than there is a drop down box with datagridview and details.When you select details and than drag the table over to your form ,the IDE creates or the nessiary fields to add and view the data.

I am Matthew and I'm extremely new to coding and any sort of scripting language; yet I am highly interested in programming and want to learn lots about this subject. So to start myself off I am trying to create some applications which I could use in day-to-day life to just basically make life easier.So the first program I am trying to make I am already confused and not sure what the heck I have to do in order to get it functioning, I've looked on lots of videos on you tube for tutorials and they have all done a great job but some videos just don't answer my questions.When I click a button and "Form2.Show()" appears, how can I make it so that when I type text in a list box in form2, it doesn't disappear when I close it? Then once I have known done that, how can I make it so I can choose a random string of text in the list box on form2 to show up on the click of a button on form1? Then a final question is, How do I prevent fields being reset in form1 & form2 on program close? Also, is it ok for me to make a thread asking 1 simple question? or do I have to ask a handful each time to save threads or something?

I need to change the module into a class with non-shared fields. This means, each and every of these thousands of references needs to reference the instance of that class:

How do I go about this efficiently?
Regular expressions operating on the source fall flat. Refactoring tools like Re-Sharper or CodeRush don't seem to offer this functionality. Visual Studio 2010 cannot do it automatically either.

It seems fields are initialized in the same order as they appear in the source code, which (a) leads to an unexpected result, and (b) seems a little puzzling, given that one is normally not permitted to read from uninitialized variables in .NET, yet that seems to be working fine above.I would've expected VB.NET to be smart enough to initialize referenced fields first, and only then those that reference it; i.e. I'd have liked to see this output instead:

I'm trying to create a table in Word using data from a table in Access. There are four fields in the access table that I need. 3 fields are text which I can populate the Word without any issues. However the fourth field is a memo with >255 characters.I'm struggling to come up with the proper code to allow me to populate the Word field with the memo data that has more than 255 characters. There are 2 reports that print out every time and the are potentially 7 others that could print for each order. all of the reports will use the same basic information and just present it in different ways (i.e. label, packing slip, international paperwork, etc). the program we are currently using was written in a rush and I know is not efficient. I am pulling the same information several times for each run. I am trying to redo the program the correct way now. What I am asking input for is what do you think the best way to approach this is. I am currently using the System.Collections.DictionaryBase to store all of the information I need. I am thinking of creating more of those to store the information for each of the reports, but that still doesn't seem like the most efficient way to do it either.
