What I am trying to do is re-order the numbers in my rows in my first column in my list view. say I start with 1234If I delete a row i end up with34The code below will count the number of rows and then add the numbers i require to the listview however they will start from the last row.134123
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
Dim intIndex As Integer
am writing an system application for a company that must generate inquiry id and order id automatically. Whenever a customer makes a new inquiry or new order by clicking the add button, an automatic number should be displayed in the text box and when it's saved, it should be saved in the database access.
how I can change the order of numbers. for example i have 147, how would i make the out put to that 741? anther example 24, Then I would want 42. or 542 -- 245.
I have 20 textboxes. each contains a particular number . I want the textbox1 to textboxN to have the numbers in the descending order. If any of the textbox has a zero value then I want to leave that textbox as it is. A sample code in vb.net needed.
I have a listbox with numbers from 1-10..i have searched it up but i cannot find how to do..how can i randomize the order of the numbers in the listbox when a button is clicked? (each number must and only occur once)
I have this list view (which is working fine) and i want to find an efficient way of populating it in a specific order, ie by date, by identity etc.
I know i can use linq but as i understand this is inefficient. If m_batchs is a large list of objects then i will looping through this list many, many time (as linq behind the scenes loops through the object collection).
I have a listview with 6 columns. The first, hidden, is a key value. The other five are FirstName, MI, LastName, Gender, and CurrentGrade. When I go to populate the listview, I pull a datatable and do this:
For Each dr As DataRow In dt.Rows Dim lvi As New ListViewItem(dr("StudentKey").ToString) For i As Integer = 1 To 4 lvi.SubItems.Add("") [Code] .....
But when the form loads, I get the MI in the FirstName column, the First Name in the LastName column, the LastName in the Gender column, and the Gender in the CurrentGrade column. The MI is blank. I've run it in debug, and the correct values are in the correct subitems. But for some reason, when the ListViewItem is added to the ListView, the subitems get all jumbled.
I feel like I must be missing something obvious.I have a listview with 6 columns. The first, hidden, is a key value. The other five are FirstName, MI, LastName, Gender, and CurrentGrade. When I go to populate the listview, I pull a datatable and do this:
For Each dr As DataRow In dt.Rows Dim lvi As New ListViewItem(dr("StudentKey").ToString) For i As Integer = 1 To 4
I have a listview1 with two columns Name and Age. This code when I click on a listview item it is higlited and then i click on textbox1 it will remove the row and place the text in textbox1 and textbox2. Then when I double click on textbox1, it will add the text back into listview1 at the bottom of the list. I want to place the two columns at the same place it came out of. EXAMPLE: click on Tom - textbox1 has Tom in it and textbox2 has 2 in it. When I double click on Tom then it adds both Tom and 2 in the listview at the bottom
I want to move listviewitems up and down but with numbers in the first colum. For example there a 5 listviewitems numbered 1 to 5 when i move a listviewitem up or down the numbers must be re-ordered? to 1-5 again.
I found this from a Google search and I need the VB.NET equivalent to Martin Liss' code
Dim lngIndex As Long Dim lngTot As Long For lngIndex = 1 To lv.ListItems.Count lngTot = lngTot + lv.ListItems(lngIndex).SubItems(1) Next
[Code]...
Value of type 'System.Windows.Forms.ListViewItem.ListViewSubItem' can not be converted to 'Integer'Basically, I need to total up a number column in a ListView.
I have a combo box bound to a datasource. I need to change one combo box (of many) to order the items in descending order.I'm guessing I could order the collection in the dataset, but that will mean all my combo boxes will be reordered?
I have a databound Datagridview. The DGV is bound to a datatable of a strongly typed DataSet created using the wizard. Is there any way to re order the columns before displaying them eg: the Columns are displayed in the DGV in this other Col4, Col6, Col3, Col1,Col5, Col2
But I want to it to show as Col1, Col2, col3, Col4, Col5, Col6?
I realise that the display order followed the Column order in the database table and by extension, the datatable. I have re-arranged the columns in the Database but the Datatable still retains the old order.
This might not be so 'VB' as it is 'SQL using VB' I have an application with a built in MS Access DB. I have a table that has a column full of integers, I shoot the DB a SQL "order by 'column name' " string and it returns the table ordered by my column of integers.BUT it returns them like this, and I want them like this
0 6 1 5 2 4
[code]....
How do I get the OrderBY to do a descending list starting with the highest number?
I'm working on the exercise page 73 (VB 2010 in 24 hours). It's basically a form with 2 text boxes, 2 text labels and a command button. It's really simple and uses this loop to cycle through the items, and tell me the name of them in a Messagebox
I have to order a table following a logical order but I cannot find the appropriate ORDER BY clause. To simplify I have 2 fields field1 and field2
1 record : field1 contains 2 and field2 contains 1 2 record : field1 contains 1 and field2 contains 2 3 record : field1 contains 2 and field2 contains 2
if a byte value can go up to 255 and two bytes are used to determine the length of packet payload data, how would I convert the two bytes to create one integer value?
State.buffer[13] = 5 and State.buffer[14] = 67 Dim PacketLengthHigh As Integer = state.buffer(13) Dim PacketLengthLow As Integer = state.buffer(14)
I have six textboxes, and upon button press it randomly generates six numbers, one in eact text box e.g. [43] [85] [93] [1] [0] [17]..i create another six textboxes and at the same time allocate these numbers in ascending/descending numbers.I am not looking for any codes whatsoever, as i love the challenge of VB.Net.
1.The average of the four numbers. This answer will be placed into a text box reserved for that value. This text box cannot be changed by the user.
2.The maximum and minimum values. These will be denoted by changing the color of the largest number green and the smallest number red.
3.The range of the numbers. The range is defined as the difference between the largest and smallest numbers. The range will be placed into its own text box, labeled as such. This text box cannot be changed by the user."
Im using visual studio 2008 and it has to be written in VB
So how would I use .next (random numbers) to randomly select something from a list of numbers but it can't repeat the number?I could do:
dim num as integer dim r as new random num = r.next(1,5) if num = 1 then elseif num = 2 then etc.
That wouldn't work because it would repeat. If I donwload someone's game can I disect it in VS? :0 I tried going to open project, then I went to the folder and clicked open. It brought me inside of the folder so I tried to open the game but there is no form1 there. It says the games name then .exe in the explorer-like thing in the top right? Also, how would I have a value or something in a label and access it from a button.
Example:This is in a label.
Dim number as Integer number = 0
Then in the button do
Label.number = 0
How would I do something like that? I want to use that a lot as I did in a different language.
I have a program that allows a user to input numbers from an inputbox and it displays the Total numbers entered, the sum of the numbers entered, and the average of the numbers entered. What I can not seem to find it how to have it display the largest number entered. The code I have so far is,
