Reading Auto-number Value After Adding A Record?

I have an Access table which has an auto-number primary key. When I add a new record to it I want to be able to get the value of this field.
The relevant code I have is:
dsNewRow.Item("FullName") = NewStudentFields(0)
dsNewRow.Item("FirstName") = NewStudentFields(1)
dsNewRow.Item("LastName") = NewStudentFields(2)
[Code]....
I want to be able to access the value of the primary key immediately after the Update (if that's possible without having to search the dataset for the new record - cumbersome!) or, even better, just before the Update, if that's possible.

Say I have a table called tblTest in MS Access with the primary key called field0 which is set to autonumber and a few other fields, say field1, field2 and field3. Say also, I inserted a new row using:

I have a data set with a table named IEA_Transaction_Test2.After executing the below codes to insert a record into the SQL server table IEA_Transaction_Test2, how do I get the identity value (auto number) of the record that just got inserted?

I am using Visual Studio 2005 (Visual Basic) and MS Access 2003 I am trying to build an application in the lines of the book "Doing Objects in Visual Basic 2005" by Deborah Kurata. So, I have a Data Access Layer (DAL) Class Library that is separated from the business logic layer (business objects) Class Library. I try to add a new business object such as a "Customer" to the Access Database, where the "Customer" table has a PrimaryKey "CustomerID" which is an AutoNumber field. I am successful in writing the values to the database, but I can't figure out how to know the "CustomerID" of a newly added "Customer" so I can populate the business object with the respective values.

I am trying to add a new record everytime i do my navigation gets all messed up I also need an update button... I would like so when i hit new record the record of will be(ex. If Im adding record number 30 it will say record 30 of 30, hit add new it will say record 31 of 31) my code is below.

I have two tables Products and Categories with a many to many relationship. I am trying to copy the categories linked to one product (OriginalProduct) to another product (newProduct). The problem is when I execute the SaveChanges() method, I not only get the records in my linking table, but it also creates another copy of the categories in the categories table. I've tried this in many ways but here are the last couple that I've attempted:

I am handling many of the BindingNavigator tasks (MoveFirst, MoveNext, etc.)in code to ensure that I always ask the User to save his changes.
The one area I am have a problem is PositionItem. I would like to sense that the User has changed the Record Number in the BindingNavigatorPositionItem, handle my record Update, and move to the Record Number the User entered I have looked all over and have not found any way to do this.

I have a simple application for taking Customer orders and their Products. I am using Visual Studio 2008 Express Edition and MS Access 2007.My application uses multiple forms. One of the forms is an Add form from where a New Customer along with his/her details like address, phone, city, state etc can be added. Another form is for the Product Details to be added.I want to know how to retrieve a CustomerID from an MS Access 2007 database for either the newly added Customer or an existing one and insert multiple rows or records for the same CustomerID, as a Customer can order multiple products. I am using the following code for the Add button:

there are two computer connect to one shared database one of the user (user1) will insert new record then the records in (datagridview) of the user (user1) who insert the record will be 11 record but the(datagridview) of other user (user2) will still have 10 record.what the possible way that may allow me to refresh the records..Also how I can make a new record in datagridview of the user2 can be colored by yellow or red back color.

i'm working on a desktop application in vb.net, using vs 2005 and mssql 2005. i want to refresh the pages everytime i insert a record, but i only succeeded by having a load button where user has to click everytime they add a record to view the new record. Is there any way(s) to auto refresh those pages?

Is there a way to auto-update a listview based on reading a column?
Requirements:
1) The code must make a call to a user-created "Private Sub" to recalculate
2) Update must be automatic. .SelectedItem or clicking a row will not work
3) The formula function cannot be included in Form_Load
I've got everything working if the user selects a row, then clicks an "update" button using .SelectedItem. But with my current program containing 200 rows, it's not feasible. Simply put, how would I go about updating a listview column (0 in this case) based off a call to a formula, then updating the row?

i'm importing a text file into a access table like this:

my question is what is the best way to add an autonumber to the table? i currently do it like this:

but when the file is too large i get this error: "File sharing lock count exceeded. Increase MaxLocksPerFile registry entry."

it's to add auto number into first column of each row. The codes running well, but after the codes completed, the first column of each row remain empty.

I am trying to add a docking form to my application. I have a good program going so far but I am trying to create a minimize to dock feature in which it minimizes to another form (basically hides one and shows the other). I am working on a 23" monitor but I want this to work on all computers. So what I am looking for is a form that three buttons...left, top, right. When the left button is clicked it will dock the window to that side of the screen and fill all of the space from top to bottom with a width of 200 or so. The second button "top" will dock it to the top of the screen and expand the width to the width of the screen it is on. And a height of 200. And the third button "right" will do the same as the left but will put it on the right side. Also is it possible to reserve that side of the screen. (move all icons on the desktop from behind it to the side of it.

I am using the vb 2005 to create an application and I created a database from the vb by adding a new Item (Database). I want to know how can I make the id which is a number, to take an auto number and not to have to enter it with my insert statement. I know in oracle I use a sequence and in access I use Auto Number as a type for the field, I want something like this here.

i have created an add button in my datatgridview.when the user clicks the add button i would like the cursor to be positioned at the first cell of the new row.i created a new add event, and can get to the last row, and select it.but how do i set the focus onto the first cell ?this is the code i am using:

I am having problems adding a new row to a datagridview control in my form. I have a simple formwith a textbox, a button and a datagridview. When the user types in an item number and clicks on the button, the system will populate the datagridview with the relevant data from the database.All these works fine but, when the user tries to add another record, the first record added to the datagridview is cleared off the datagridview before the next record is displayed. I would like the datagridview to add all the records without clearing the screen. The datagridview is not bounded to the database.
