I have a MyList (List Of Longs) in which I need the check a specific relation between any two members of that list, if the relation-check returns true I need to delete checked member.I was used to do something like that with 2 For Next Loops, is there a better way. I wrote this code. It works, but when the directory has a lot of subfolders it freezes up. I really only need to access the folders created in the last 24 hours. I cannot however figure out how to compare the subfolder to time.

I wrote a Windows Forms script that searched for all non-hidden and non-readonly folders in my system. But the script itself, when run initially, runs for like 5 minutes. Subsequent opens take much less time. I was wondering if there is a logical error to it, so as to why its running so very slow.

What I want it to do is to have it return an array of relitive file paths, from the starting direcotry I give the function. Then I will use a loop to cycle though each file in the array to make certain changes.

Another program I am working on for fun, I am basically shuffling a list inside a listbox, what I want to do is delete the rest but not sure how to go through with that. At the moment I have this: [code] Just contains the code, declarations outside weren't included.So anyway, once clicked, it will call on the function to basically shuffle in a for loop, I was wondering if I should (or how should) create another function and call it in the click button or have just a loop in the click button so it deletes half the list. What I am doing is I have 20 list of items, I want the program to shuffle the items and then deleting the lower 10, meaning, if I had 10 items and wanted 5 top, I'd want: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and deleting 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.

On my add button i still have to add codes that disables my navigation buttons and and my search button... and add codes that will enable them in save button... im still new thats why my codes are just simple if, else if, else conditions that just manipulates enable, visible, text, properties..also if i search my data will be search but my textboxes only shows the searched data.. i still have to add button that will only be visible if the program finds a data... and this button function is to remove the filter..rather than disabling some functions i want a messagebox to prompt the user that this functions arent functionable...

I have a datagrid control with a list of names that it retrieves from a MySql database. I can search through them until i have one result. I want to be able to Display a groupbox control when the number of results is equal to 1. Also, in the groupbox i have a button that when clicked will delete this user from the server and their information from the mysql table called "employee". when the user is deleted i'll display a confirmation message in a messagebox, and reload the table with the updated list. so far the only two problems i have are showing the groupbox when the results are equal to 1 and deleting the user from the sql server based on the name of the search result

If i add a record, save it, then close the application and run it again and search for that record, it appears. However, when i write some code to my application, nothing to do with the search function, and i run the application the record is not found.
