May 20, 2009Is it possible to use a dialog box to manually locate a file and delete it? Or even load a file using openfiledialog and with another button delete it.

Jan 27, 2010I have an assignment due this week in which I have to make a app that has 5 buttons and a picture box. When each button is clicked it has to show the corresponding picture in the picture box, the fifth button closes the app.
I have the whole form set up the way it should be, but I have no idea how to write the code to make the buttons display the images and close the app.I have the images in a folder within the project folders.
I have yet to be able to find one, the one I found should how to do it using a file opener dialog and a folder browser dialog but that is not what I think my prof wants us to do, as that is more for a picture viewer app that lets the user choose the file of the image they want ot view.
All i want is for the buttons to be linked to specific photos that are part of the application itself and have them open.

Mar 29, 2011On my add button i still have to add codes that disables my navigation buttons and and my search button... and add codes that will enable them in save button... im still new thats why my codes are just simple if, else if, else conditions that just manipulates enable, visible, text, properties..also if i search my data will be search but my textboxes only shows the searched data.. i still have to add button that will only be visible if the program finds a data... and this button function is to remove the filter..rather than disabling some functions i want a messagebox to prompt the user that this functions arent functionable...

Dec 9, 2011I deleted 3 old pictures from my resource folder. When building compiler alerted me to missing resources. Stupidly i manually edited the file and all my Toolbar icons are gone. Interesting enough the menu strip text all vanished and so did my status strip text. I managed to add back the deleted lines but still the same. If i delete the toolstrip all its buttons remain. Manually deleting each control, rewriting we are talking hours and hours of work.

Delete A User In A Mysql Server Based On Search Results?
Sep 8, 2011I have a datagrid control with a list of names that it retrieves from a MySql database. I can search through them until i have one result. I want to be able to Display a groupbox control when the number of results is equal to 1. Also, in the groupbox i have a button that when clicked will delete this user from the server and their information from the mysql table called "employee". when the user is deleted i'll display a confirmation message in a messagebox, and reload the table with the updated list. so far the only two problems i have are showing the groupbox when the results are equal to 1 and deleting the user from the sql server based on the name of the search result

If i add a record, save it, then close the application and run it again and search for that record, it appears. However, when i write some code to my application, nothing to do with the search function, and i run the application the record is not found. For example i added a button to clear the textfields, and when i ran the application the records i have added earlier were not found.

Dec 30, 2008I need a code for the open file dialog that if a file is not supported then a message box appears stating the error. This is my open file dialog code. [code] The message box pops up like it is suppose to, when you click ok the open file comes back up like it is suppose to. When you put in the correct file the message box comes back up again. Also the message pops up even if the correct file is put in the open file. but if you close the file dialog the image is where it is suppose to be.I believe the code for the public sub wrongfile is what is the problem. can some one look it over and let me know what changes are needed.

Jul 1, 2011I'm using the FileSaveAs dialog control to allow the user to select a filename to save a file either as a doc file, an rtf file or a pdf file (that part was easy).However, after a bit of testing, it seems that the file extension doesn't automatically change when selecting the different file types.If the filename in the dialog is Foo.doc and I select FileType *.pdf and click "Save", my app still tries to save the file as a doc type.Virtually every other MS app automatically changes the extension to match a selected file type from the Office Suite to Paint. here's my code:
