Is it possible to (programmatically) retrieve the current line of code being executed? For example, I have program X that's only 200 lines long. Is it possible to tell a user "The current line of code is: ....."?Mods - Please do not mark my posts as answered. It is extremely rude. You have no idea if you've answered my question.

View 3 RepliesI am trying to create a program in Visual Basic which will measure the performance of the CPU with every core, one at a time. In this program, I decided to place a couple of text boxes that display the processor speed and the actual processor speed. I need to get the actual processor speed to update and I have tried doing this already using a timer set to tick every second. However, when I load the program it runs really slowly and prevents me form doing anything within the program, including trying to close it down, and all it does is updates the text box every second. I have looked in task manager to find out how much CPU the program is using and it shows that my program is using 0 - 3% CPU.

I have, up to now, managed to port most of the code from my previous application, which used the standard webbrowser component. How would I retrieve a list of links from the current web page displayed in the axWebBrowser and display them in the DataGridView? I only want to retrieve the first line though (the rest is some stuff my webhost automatically generates). [Code]. But this doesn't work properly :S In above example it would return the whole string, except the last two characters. What do I need to alter to make it work correctly?

In one part the employees of the bank can open new accounts for customers, edit accounts, etc. It includes assigning a unique PIN code for the customer. This is all saving to a database. So how do I retrieve the PIN from the database that matches with the PIN entered and hence, retrieves bank balance, etc?
I am trying to write out to console a percentage of data loading. I tried to use C# syntax which would be Console.Write(" Percentage: " + nCurrent + "/" + nTotal; however in VB I get the actual character 'r' being displayed in my string. Is there a special code I need to insert in order to update my cursor to the beginning of the line so that I may reuse that line?

View 11 RepliesI am having difficulty retrieving the correct PIN code from my database, for an ATM banking application. When someone enters a correct PIN code that is already in the database, they gain access to their ATM account. If incorrect, then a message box appears. I am having an unusual problem where, the system is partially working. The code I have, is preventing the user from accessing their account, in the correct manner, eg. message box pops up. However, it is also not accepting the correct PIN code. The most unusual thing about this, is that, if the user enters the number "1", the message box won't pop up, however it will still block the user from accessing their account. And even stranger again, after entering the number "1", trying it, then erasing it, if they enter the correct PIN after this, it will allow them to access their account.

However what is displayed is each character from the source code, rather than the line. I am making the client log into a website, and the needed value from the source code is then parsed, so I need to use the WebBrowser type to get the source code.
Currently I have the code:textbox1.text = textbox1.text.insert(textbox1.getfirstcharIndexFromCurrentLine(),";")But this means it has to reload the entire textbox, which with large files is noticeable slow.What are the alternatives?

View 14 RepliesI have a WinForms app in a single project written in VB.Net 2003 (legacy code). There is a MainForm and a SecondaryForm that is run by the MainForm. When I run the app thru the MainForm, I can debug with no problem. However, if I just run the SecondaryForm, I get the debug error, "There is no source code available for the current location", when stepping over,_routeId = CInt(myVar)
At this point I am no longer able to debug thru my code window, but have to use the disassembled code.
