Return Array Of Classes So That It Can Be Consumed From VBA (via COM-Interop)?

I need to provide a DLL that is consumed by a VBA app (Access 2003, late binding) and returns stuff that is retrieved from various WebServices. These WebServices publish methods that not only return a single object, but also arrays of them.
From the Access-app's point of view, it's no problem to consume i.e. an array of strings. However, there's also methods that return an array of a (proprietary) class. I can't seem to be able to consume such an array from VBA.[code]....

I remember seeing somewhere on the net that there are classes in .Net that will return information about your computer. I know that System.Environment returns some of this information like MachineName and some other stuff. Are there other classes that will return information such as hard drive size, free and used space, total memory, used memory?

I have two Parser classes that inherit from a base class, BaseParser. I want to use either class as a parameter in another Monitor class. The Parser classes, CS600 and TCH600, both have two properties, RawDataList and SummaryDataList. The CS600 class's RawDataList returns a List(of CS600Data); the TCH600 RawDataList returns a List(of TCH600Data). The SummaryDataList returns similar classes in each Parser class. CS600Data and TCH600Data derive from a base class, BaseData.BaseParser also has RawDataList (List(of BaseData)) and SummaryDataList (List(of BaseSummaryData))The Monitor class has a private field, _thisParser which can be either of the two concrete Parsers above. I want to be able to call and use RawDataList and SummaryDataList of _thisParser within Monitor class, but when I construct the concrete Parser classes, Visual Studio notes that the RawDataList property of CS600 cannot override the RawDataList property of the BaseParser because they differ in their return types.
I thought that since CS600Data derived from BaseData (but also adds some new properties of its own) that I could use CS600Data wherever I use BaseData. What am I misunderstanding? How can I correctly construct these classes?

We are developing a webservice for a client. We are not supose to throw SoapExceptions, so instead, we catch every exception server side, and return a custom Exception class.

The problem now is, that since my webmethod is returning the type [Object]. The wdsl that is generated does not contain the order, or the exception.
I can change the [Object] to [Order] Or [MyException], but only one of them is generated in the wsdl.
I want both the MyException type and the Order type in my wsdl, but i just cant get it working.

I've found a lot of other references to this error using Google but I'm having trouble making sense out of how they apply to what I'm doing.

Now it seems to work fine, but I'm working with very large files (70+ GB) across a network (local copy is not an option) and while the function is executing if the user moves the application the screen can go blank and they can panic. What I want is a way to update something like a progress bar to give feedback to the user.

It works fine, but when working with very large files on the network my users sometimes panic.I'd like to add a progress bar that updates based on the progress of the hashing through the file.So, my choice are either to manually create the hashing process, which I believe will be much slower,or somehow tap in to the position value of the filestream and use that to update a progress bar.I'd be happy to tap into the events of the MD5CryptoServiceProvider if I could, but I don't see anything there.I have searched the net to try to find an example and have only found code that works by reading line by line from the filestream, not from it being passed to another control/service.

Trying to replace Cells(RowIndex,ColumnIndex).Value() calls by row-wise references for performance, I permanently fail at referencing the result. Starting with Excel Interop - Efficiency and performance, which contains the tip to use get_range, i.e.

However, referencing Values with two dimension indices always returns an "index was outside the bounds of the array" exception. Inspecting the array with the debugger shows a nice 2-dimensional array which should has 17 elements on the second dimension, so Value (0,0) should indeed be a valid reference -- but it isn't:
The debugger lets me inspect Value, I can also drill down to Value(0,0) and see the correct value, but re-evaluating just that element, i.e. inspecting "Value (0,0)" returns above message.

We had plan to create a three tiered architecture database application, where the middle tier will be implemented using Web Service. We're going to use Linux for the server, so I think for the web service to be able to be implemented, we only had PHP/Java left. Is this right?
The constraint is, we're going to use VB.NET for the client application.We already had a two tiered VB.NET application from our last successfull database application. It use a lot of DataSet for the result of SQL execution. Now, what I had in mind, is a simple approach of converting all procedure that return a DataSet Object, to be a WebService method. But, because of this thinking, I don't think we can do it in Java/PHP. That is, we'll be enforce to use a ASP.NET approach. Is this correct? I'm writing a game in visual basic 2008 and things are going fairly well with it for the most part.. well until today.. I can declare a 1 dimensional array of a class just fine but cannot for the life of me get the syntax right for a multidimensional array. Before adding rows to a table I am evaluating the SSN number. These will later be flagged for correction so I am setting a datatable column to true or false if it passed muster or not.

This is a school project, supposed to be a beggining VB.Net class. I'm having difficulty with one section, sorting the array is OK but I need to only return a 3 of it. I had it working when I was selecting single files but when I went to selecting multiple files at once the formula stopped working for me.
