Which technique should I use? I have searched a lot on this but unable to find solution yet. Do i need to use Directshow library?

May 4, 2009I have it mostly working right now, I can edit existing data and have it save to the database so when I re-open the program all the new data is still there. Now I get an error saying "Column 'AppID' does not allow nulls." when I try to create a new record. AppID is a column in the DB that I use to number the appointments. I guess it's looking for this value when it tries to save the new data, and since it isn't a field on the form it doesn't get an entry and fires that message. I've tried changing the AppID column to an AutoNumber field so it generates by itself but I still get the same error.

From the cource code,I have successfully captured and saved images, however for the video part I have failed to save it in any selected directory. I've checked the code with some other sample codes in internet. Couldn't see any problem or differences. My code for recording and saving are as follow:

Can't Seem To Save Data In The Database When Updating A Record?
May 20, 2009I can't seem to save data in the database when updating a record. The record appears to be updated and even displays the new record on my form but as soon as I close and restart the program the old record is back and no changes are made to the database. Is there something im missing here ?

Copying Record With Schedule Date And Save It
Oct 6, 2011I have table name "WO" in oracle db I want "Whenever I start my program, I want it it look at all the works orders, and if any works order has a date that is exactly one month before today's date, then I want the program to display a message and create copies of those works orders with a schedule date of today's date and save it".

Nov 15, 2011My query is i want to save record from an excel sheet to my Database Table.
But i dont want to insert the Excel sheet as a whole rather i want to insert the record in my database table Row wise.Inserting the records is not the only thing but my major issue is i want to check and compare the Primary Key column of my Table with the Column in my Excel.
Suppose Table1 is my Sql Database Table,and RegistrationNo is the Primary Key Column.Similarly there is also a column of Registration Number in my Excel Sheet.
Now before inserting each record the RegistrationNo column should be compared.If the a registrationNo in the excel sheet say RegistrationNo 112 is already present in the table then it should not Insert the record and if its not present then it should insert.
Also the other issue is the number of columns in my Database table are more than the number of columns in my excel Sheet.So the columns that are not present in the excel sheet should be set to NULL while inserting the record in the Table.

Add A Record To An Access DB?
May 26, 2010I had my students connect to a MS Access DB (2002) and used the datagrid to display the data and that works just fine. Theproperties are set to allow adding of records, however when we add a record it seems to accept the record, but if you check the table its not there./ No error or any indication there is a problem, the record is simply not there. You can add 10 to the datagrid and they will appear in the data grid but not in the table an of course if you closethe app & reopen it the records are gone. This used to work just fine, by the way the same thing happens when you use the Binding Navigator so I don't think its VB, I'm guseeing its Access?

Jan 5, 2010I have an Access 2007 DB With 3 Tables I fill a form with information from 2 of the tables which works fine I then want to add a row to the third table with the information obtained from the form.(I know this may seem like duplicating data but there is a reason for doing this that I can explain if needed) This is where I am having the problem.
