I want to be able to save anything the user typed in the rich text box in my form into a .txt file in a location of their choosing after using the 'Save' option on the menu.[code]...
I have this Quiz software that lets you create online multiple choice quizzes which are great for studying (I am in grad school and I'm trying to use everything I can to learn). So the Quiz software is great but it only lets you input questions by hand, one by one. I took a look at the .xml file that the quiz program spits out and came up with the idea to try and make a converter so that I can import many questions at once. I was hoping to try and solve this limitation by doing the following:
Take a .doc that say a tutor gives us with a bunch of practice questions, and then take that into Crimson Editor, and then format it so the question is on line 1, the multiple choice answers are on lines 3,4,5, and 6, (for the next question, the question would be on line 11, and the answers on lines 13, 14, 15, and 16, and so on) and then take that saved .txt file into my program, hit the generate button, and it will spit out the .xml file, and then import that into the quiz software to generate the online quiz.
Here is an attached screenshot of my program layout so far:
I figured out how to open a text file by watching simple youtube tutorials, but I don't know how to have it generate the stuff and have it show up in the bottom text box. I know how to do the coding to convert the txt to proper xml code but I don't know how to be able to save the contents of the bottom text window to an xml file.
I'm working on an application (ASP.NET, Webforms) that generates a list of outputs based on a user input. I want to allow the user to save the contents of said list as text file, or possibly as other filetypes such as .csv.Can it be done client-side with Javascript?
Currently using code below on a button click event to save the contents of a rich text box:[code]tbMix combines the text of tbFileName2 and tbScriptName to create a file path which is the file that the rich text box is created to.however, when i format things in the rich text box, eg as bold etc, and then reopen the contents of the file, the formatting has not been saved.
How in the world do i save/open a rich text file (.doc .txt or other) that can work in a Windows Forms Project. They should be able to click a button to open, and one to save. How do i do this?
Hi, i'm trying to use the treeview to display the text of a rtf (rich text file) file when an specific node if clicked.HomeOMGWOOTFor example, if i pick OMG, i want the text of lol.rtf to be displayed on a richtextbox. But somehow i just can't manage to get it... I know to import the text of a .txt file to a textbox, but using the treeview makes it more complicated. This is the code im using right now:
Private Sub TreeView1_NodeMouseClick(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.TreeNodeMouseClickEventArgs) Handles TreeView1.NodeMouseClick Select Case e.Node.Index Case 0
[code]....
Another thing is, that i can't import the *.rtf text into a richtextbox and i don't know why.

What i am looking to do is to be able to save/load all the values filled into a form. For example The user has entered the
name: "Tim" address: "123 Fake Street" phone: ""
And then saves. When the come back and load this i want to be able to load it back exactly like that so the can continue with what they are doing. And if there are to open a different person they can continue with that one where they stopped. I want to be able to save them all at once and load them at once.
I have tried many methods to save my datagridview contents to a file but with no luck does anybody have a good method for xml to datagridview, datagridview to Xml,or any other methods to read/write a datagridview.
I have an application that pings IP addresses. When complete it will probably have close to 1000 IP addresses it will ping. I have a settings page that has a textbox that stores the IP address (one IP address eg. 192.158.1.1 per text box) for the object to ping. I want to be able to save all of the textbox IP address into a text file, and then be able to load the IP addresses from the text file into the respective text boxes.
I am a Real Estate appraiser and have some limited experience with vb and .net. I have a task which I perform which requires me to go to the conuty appraisers web site and print a copy (to image bmp or jpg or directly to the default printer) of the current public record info for anywhere from a few pages to 1,000 plus records at a time.
I don't really get paid to do this part of the job so they don't care whether it takes me a few minutes or several hours to do this. I thought there must be a way to automate this process, so last week I started searching and test code snippets. What I have to date opens an instance of IE; navigates to the reguested page; finds the form elemet for AcctNo; fills it in and submits the form. The page that comes back is formatted for screen presentation and is not suitable to be sent to the printer. There is however a link which when clicked returns a page formatted for pinting. Downside is it also brings up the print dialog which then has to be handled. I was able through several methods to click either the print button or the cancel button which leaves me with a document that is either sent to printer or sitting on screen.
The questions are: Is there a way to do this without displaying the Print Dialog? Maybe a HTTPRequest or HTTPWebREquest as I have no need to see the screens just need the final page. The resultant page is typically longer then letter by a few lines and wants to print on two pages. It would be nice to resize the page to fit and typically it will be the same resizing. If I stick with the print dialog either clicking print or cancel how can I intercept the document and decide by options set in the program wheter to send the file to the printer or save to image?
Its a League Organizer, basicly ive started it off with 16 teams and end up with 1(winner) 16 box's on the far left, then 8, then 4, then 2, then 1. the 16 box's have "Team 1" "Team 2" etc... ive put a new/clear/open/save button in that order.
BUT this is my problem..when i save(Save Button) the text file saves all the text wrong it ends up like this...Team 1Team 2Team 3Team 4 Etc...
But i want it to save like this
Team 1 Team 2 Team 3 Team 4 Etc...
The code is...
Dim Save As New SaveFileDialog Save.Filter = "Text Files (*.txt)|*.txt|ALL FILES (*.*)|*.*"
Using the following code to print the contents of my rich textbox
Private Sub PrintText(ByVal sender As Object, _ ByVal ev As PrintPageEventArgs) tbUpperBody.Text = vbNewLine & vbNewLine & tbUpperBody.Text
[Code]...
Issue is that when the rich textbox contains text that is spread over multiple lines, it prints as one massive line, which obviously disappears off the edge of the page.
I'm working on an application like WordPad but my problem is when I try to open a rich text file even though it contains colored text the whole text shows up in black unlike WordPad.
That title is really confusing I know. But I will try and make sense of this.If you drag a file onto a rich text box, it will add this little watermark-ish thing with the file extensions icon, and the file name.
Is there a way that I can get that files address, upon a certain event?
I am trying to ping a text file("C:/Domains.txt") which is a list of domains, then have the resulting IP address written to a different text file ("C:/IP_Addresses.txt"). And this action will be done with a Button_Click.
I have a rich text box which I use in order the user is able to add pictures, coloured writing, different font etc... however I need to load specific text in the rich text box when the user load the Form.how I can add (I guess) the HTML to load this every time the user load the form.
P.S the text will change depending on who loads the form so I can not do a simple
RichTextBox1.LoadFile("C:Documents and SettingsDesktopSigniture.rtf")
While displaying the .RTF file in rich text box control. It displays all the rtf formatting strings. how to display rich text in rich text box control.
I have created a text editor that enables the user to create and open both txt files and rich text files.When it comes to opening files, the text files are opening fine, but when it comes to rich text they are opening like this { tf1adeflang1025ansiansicpg1252uc1adeff31507deff0stshfdbch31506stshfloch31506stshfhich31506stshfbi31507deflang2057deflangfe2057 hemelang2057 hemelangfe0 hemelangcs0{fonttbl{f0fbidi fromanfcharset0fprq2{*panose 02020603050405020304}Times New Roman;}{f34fbidi fromanfcharset1fprq2{*panose 02040503050406030204}Cambria Math;}
I am doing a data migration from Lotus notes to another type of software that does not support Rich Text Fields.I am trying to write a VB 2005 program that will take any rich text fields that are found and place them into an RTF file - which will be uploaded as an attachment in the new software.I cannot get the program to take the rich text formating or objects to the RTF file, only the plain text.I have tried everything under the sun using the COM library to get these objects out to no avail.
