Saving User Entered Values And Results In Database

I have created a small program that performs various calculations with data entered by the user. I need to be able to save the entered values and the results on the system running the program and be able to open it at anytime in the future and have the values and results displayed in the correct text boxes. I am currently reading up on some tutorials but I was just curious as to how I can send all my data in Visual Basic to my database in Microsoft Access?

The problem is this: I have two forms. One form and the other form do mathematical calculations. I want to save the values that the user inputs, so when the user quits the program and then starts it up again the values are still there. But when I open up the program, start typing in values, then calculate them, hit quit. Try to open up the program again, its giving me a message that the input file is invalid. When I click ok, the program doesn't crash, continues. But the values are not there at all. The other form I put exactly the same code, just changed the variables and it doesn't want to save the values at all! I wrote this code for saving and loading the values:

I have an EXE that creates objects based on params passed to it.Say I have textboxes named 57 and 21.I want to read the values entered by the end user.

I have been struggling with getting FormViews to work the way Microsoft expects me to for about a day and have figure a bunch of great stuff out.
I can catch e.Exception and e.ReturnValue in the ObjectDataSource.Inserting Event Handler and I can even cheat and check other properties of the Object in the ObjectDataSource.ObjectDisposing by checking the e.ObjectInstance ... and I even learned that FormView's Inserting Handler Runs AFTER the ObjectDisposing Handler so If there is a problem found I still have time to react to it and st the e.KeepInInsertMode to true on the FormView.
My problem is, it seems that the values entered by the user into the Insert form are cleared regardless.
So, How do I Prevent a FormView from clearing after it's Insert Method has fired?
(Using ASP.NET + VB)
I don't think posting my code here will really do much good and i would have to modify it to trim out confidential business logic stuff... so I'll skip it for now.

I have found a temporary and admittedly terribly cludgy solution (in case no one ever finds a REAL solution to the problem).
I have a page variable defined as:
Dim eInsertArgs As FormViewInsertedEventArgs
And then I do the following in my ItemInserted handler
If boolInsertErrorOccurred = False Then
e.KeepInInsertMode = True
eInsertArgs = e

The effect of this is that I am setting the values BACK to the submitted values AFTER ASP.NET binds the FormView to the default (blank) Template.

I'm looking for a library for Autocomplete support in text controls which remembers all previous entries of the user and provide auto-complete support for it.For example for "recent files" I use [URL] and it works great. Do you know something like that for this purpose?
UPDATE : This is a .NET Winforms application and I'm using normal Text Control.

I am trying to make a Windows Form in VS 2010 that is used to determine whether someone is entitled to a prize/medal/award whatever you want to call it. So basically if someone clicks on a check box to say they attended an event and they enter a date range between saying they attended the event between 01/01/2010 - 01/02/2010 and the requirement for the award is that they attended the event for more than 20 days then because the statement is true I would want a box to pop up and say person is entitled to receive a particular award. There are multiple awards available based on different conditions so to be eligible for so the result would be dependent upon which boxes and date ranges are selected.So For Award1 the logical argument is something along the lines of
IF Event1CheckBox = Checked AND
Attendance => 20
Result = Entitled to Receive Award1 Else = Not Entitled To Receive Award1

Can i use the timer when the user tries to log-in and the user entered a wrong password 3 times.i will give the user 5 mins to log-in again with the correct password and if the user enters the wrong pass. 3 times again i will give another 10mins also this is what i want when the user close the program the timer is also their and running that it will give the user the remaining tym on how much tym left 4 him to log-in again.Can i do this in vb.net??i dont know how 2 do this i dont have a clue if it is possible can someone give me a code??

I need a small bit of help with my Black Jack game in VB 2005. Basically I have the game pretty much complete seems to work perfectly, I have two counters set up, one for dealers games won and the second one for players games won which both add up the results and displays them in a text box. I have another form made to display Statistics, for both 'This Session' and 'Overall', but how do I save the Overall score??

I just need to know how to set up this array within the program to allow 10 values to be entered then later be shown into separate labels as a largest and smallest value.Create an application that lets the user enter 10 values into an array. The application should display the largest and smallest values stored in the array. Figure 8-45 shows an example of the application's form after all 10 values have been entered, with the largest and smallest values displayed.The form basically shows a large label box where your values will show up. How can I get the sum all the values a user enters into TextBox1 to display that sum into TextBox2.The user is going to enter one value one by one. The user enters '1' into TextBox1, therefore, TextBox2 should display '1'.If the user than enters '2' into TextBox1, TextBox2 should display '3'.If the user enters '2' into TextBox1, TextBox2 should display '5'.And so on.TextBox2 should only display one value at a time, not one after another.I am using double because I need decimal places.I have a ListBox1 where it displays all the values entered by the user in rows one by one, but I prefer not to use the ListBox1 to get the sum of all the values entered in TextBox1 and to have TextBox2 show that sum. This program is very difficult for me, but I must get threw it or I cannot finish... What I am doing is making a Database of foreign Languages with the spelling of the words and the pronounciation inside the database... The USER enters a paragraph of words into the translator textbox and pushed translate. The program has a DATABANK of words with the phonetic spellings and matches the word, then translates to phonetics. The problem is that new words keep appearing inside the language. I have created a program and would now like to stop users from entering incorrect values/Text inside specific textboxes. For example i would only like text to be entered when a customer name is to be inputted and if a numerical key is pressed a message box will appear saying "sorry letters only" or something in that line. I Create an application that when a user enters a positive integer value in a input box(the default number is 10) when the OK button is clicked, the application should display a message box with the sum of all the integers form 1 through the value entered by the user. If the user enters a negative value, the application should display an error message. I believe I have to use a loop condition but I have no idea what to do.
EX: User enters 10 in the input box once OK button is pressed a message box pops up and says "The sum of the numbers 1 through 10 is 55". Use the following test data to determine if the application is calculating properly

I have a report that requires the user to enter their ticket number, then they click view, and it generates. Pretty standard. What I would like to do is have the report automatically export to a pdf when they click view. Does anyone know if this is possible and how I would approach the matter?

Ok so I have designed a program to figure out commissions for phone sales at my company. Since the devices we sell and their associated prices change over time, I had to make that data within my program dynamic. I have a form within my program (frmprice) that has 160 textboxes - 80 for the devices and 80 for the associated prices. Now I hard coded the .text members with default values for our current stock of phones and prices.
I also added code so whenever that form with the phones and prices (frmprice) closes it saves any changes that have been made to either the phones or prices and when the form loads it overwrites the default data with any data that the user had entered at last run.
HERE is my logic problem. At the very first run the program is overwriting the default hard coded values with "" because no user data has ever been entered before. So when the form with the prices loads, it passes the user entered data from last run which is null because it has never run before. If I test to see if default value <> the user entered data before it executes the code to pass the user entered values it will always test to be true because the user entered data is null at first run. If I test to see if the default value is = to the user data it will always at first run test to be false because there is no user data yet.
HOWEVER once the user entered data is initialized (anytime after the first run) I need the program to pass the user data from the previous runs back in. Just NOT at the first run. I created a usercontrol which has a Textbox and a Label. Setting the (boolean) textvalidity property we can toggle the icons on the label to show if the user has entered a valid input.

The problem is... when the control is used... the constructor initializes it to true (According to my code) so the icon is already displayed.

I've got a (hopefully) quick question. I've got textboxes attached to a binding source on one of my forms, and when I add, then clear, the data for the next entry to be added a small problem arises. If the user has previously entered something into, for example, Textbox3 and the user does not have the data for Textbox3 the user cannot move to the next field unless something is entered into the box.

Does anyone know of a good way to have a user enter an amount of time (hours and minutes) using winforms controls? At the moment I have two numeric up downs, one for time and one for minutes that I then parse to create a timespan. The only other idea I have is a text box that a user can enter a "00:00" time in, and validate the input. Both of these ways seem a bit bad (in UI terms) though.
