i have a textbox with hexadecimal values and i would like to use the slidebar/scrollbar to change the values (increase/decrease) then save the final values to a text file. To prevent the program from writing to many times to the file, i decided to use a timer. As long as the user still making changes or controlling the slide/scroll bar the timer will re-load (5 seconds). When the user is done modifying (no more dragging or clicking on the arrows) at that time the timer already expired, then the value get recorded to the text file.
i have a coundown time in which will trigger once i run my main screen in my "MAIN SCREENFORM" ....... I create a "RESET button" on other form call "FORM2" , now the problems is how should i write the code when i click reset button it will reset the count value my lblcountime.text and start re-countdown again from the start?
Public Sub MainScreen_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load timeleft = 120 lblCountTime.Text = "120 seconds"[code].......
We've set code to fire certain valves on the timer but once it gets to the last valve (checkbox) I'm not sure how to reset the timer to start back at zero so that it refires the sequence.
Here's the code:
Private Sub Timer1_Tick(ByVal sender As System.Object, _ ByVal e As System.EventArgs) _ Handles Timer1.Tick
I dont have a very good background in vb, so hopefully there is a simple way to do this.Basically what we have is a vb timer that is counting time is seconds. After fixed amounts of time, in this case 2 seconds, the if statements trigger certain events. Essentially what I want to do is say: after timer reaches st*2 (18 seconds) then restart the timer at zero. Is there any way to do this?
In the following code I have two class scoped variables intCompanyID and intEmployeeID. When I set them to a value in btnFetch_Click then try to read them later in btnSubmit_Click they are set to zero.
Option Explicit On Imports MySql.Data.MySqlClient Imports System.Data
I'm using a System.Timers.Timer in a service that seems to keep ticking after it has been disabled. I'm using autoreset = false so I would expect it to only tick once unless I start it up again. I'm calling stop again, just for good measure, but the timer keeps on ticking.I'm using VB.NET in .net 1.1 and don't have the option to change frameworks. Here is a simple console app to reproduce the issue. This is not the actual code from the project.I believe the interval is long enought to prevent any thread issues in raising the event multiple times, but I will admit I'm not a threading expert.
Module Module1 Private Timer As New System.Timers.Timer(10000) Sub Main()
i have a form where a player can change the background colour of the space attack game when the go in to it i want it to take the form1.backcolor which i have done but i need a code that would take the RGB value from form1.backcolor and put into three variable's so it updates the scroll bars values and txt box values so that the player know what colour they had it if they want to go back to it
I have a repeater which displays products. Users can select a Size - dropdownlist and an Amount - textbox. Then they press Order or Cancel. When they press Cancel I would like the values of Size and Amount to return to their default values. Protected Sub lbtnCancel_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles lbtnCancel.Click rpt.ProductList is the repeater name lblFeedback.Text = ("") lblFeedback.ForeColor = Drawing.Color.Black End Sub I am using VB.NET.
I can't seem to get this code to refill the chart with new dat. The first time it executes, all is great, but when I change the year(numericupdown1.value) it adds a new set of data points instead of re-plotting the original set.
Private Sub FillChart() ' 'Fill Chart subroutine ' Dim SoldMonth As Date
It's good to be back in this forum again hoping someone could help me solve my problem again xD My goal is to import .txt to db.
This is my code
[code]...
Some of the records are inserted but when the code read the part where there is an empty/null value in the column where they are assigned as "decimal" the error message "Error converting data type nvarchar to numeric." pops out.
I am trying to reset all integer values to "0" with a reset button.I try not to use hardcoding by simply set them one by one. So my idea was checking all the variable's type and set them all to "0".
I tried to use this methode, from someone in this forum (sorry, I forgot the name but this is very helpful...) For Each ctrl As Control In Me.GroupBox4.Controls 'Check and see if this control is a TextBox If Object.ReferenceEquals(ctrl.GetType(), GetType(Label)) Then 'Check and make sure this s the "TextBoxToExclude" 'CType(ctrl, CheckBox).Checked = False CType(ctrl, Label).BackColor = InactiveColor End If Next
But when I tried to find the code, I couldn't get it.So, if anyone knows how to do this,
How do I reset My.Settings at run time to the initial default values. I want to do this after the app has been running and the user may have save changed settings. The intention is to reset evering to 'factory defaults' as opposed to the last saved value as done by 'settings.reload'.For example in the property below , I want to restore to the value to '90' as given in the default value. I want to do this for all settings.[code]...
In VB 2008, if one drops a vertical scroll bar on a form, by default the maximum value is 100, the minimum value is 0. If you place code in the scroll event to put the scrollbar value in a label, then run the program, the values in the label will range from a low of 0 (expected) to a high of 91 (unexpected). Why is the maximum value displayed in the label at 91 and not 100?
I've got a vertical scroll bar and I noticed that it's .Value is at a minimum when the bar is at the TOP (Why is that anyway?). Well, for visual feedback purposes I need it reversed where .Value is the max when the bar is at the top. Now I realize I can just manipulate the .Value in the software to get what I want but I was just wondering if there was a property I could set to just reverse it. I looked at the Object browser and couldn't find one. Sorry about these simple questions it's just that there are SO many properties and methods to learn...and I'm amazed anyone can remember all of these....
ex.You click a button and it takes you to a whole other form(different buttons, pics, etc.)
ex for scrolling. Adventure game-You walk at the top of the screen and your guy goes up. Maybe it would be easier to have the world move around my guy but 2 playwer woudn't work well with that.
So I've gotten a lot of help from this forum for this incredibly large, incredibly pointless application I'm making right now.I need to be able to have people type in, say, the name of a city. Then it will display a table of Name / phone number. So I need a table that can change for each "city name", and can scroll down. I know I'll most likely have to save it to two variables for each "city", I'm already set up to do that. ( Variable Name, Variable Phone Number) What I don't know is how to... print the data into a table, or make two text boxes that will scroll simultaneously. If there is a way to attach a scroll-bar to two text boxes, that would be my preferred method. If I have to use a table, what would the substring and code look like to change:[code]
I am making a color box that changes color when the user presses on the scroll bars.I have 3 scroll bars for RGB I have bars' properties set to min:0 and max:255.The following code does not give me the gradual change in color when pressing on the scroll bars. I keep getting a solid red, solid blue, solid green when pressing scroll bars.
Private Sub HScrollBar1_Scroll PictureBox1.BackColor = Color.FromArgb(red:=255, blue:=0, green:=0)End Sub
For each bar I've changed the code color respectively. anyone show me how to get the colors to display on the picture box gradually instead of in one solid strike?
I am currently working on a VB.Net program where there are two parallel multiline text boxes like this.
----- ----- | | | | | | | | ----- -----
I would like that when one text box is scrolled, the other is scrolled as well. I was wondering if there was a Scroll event that could trigger the change the position of the scroll bar of the two text boxes.
I am using Visual Basic express edition 2008.I am trying to know if a value in a single dimensional array is repeated in the array. If yes, then multiply one of them by 100. For example:
Ok, so I am building my own program to control a video player I have through telnet, I have everything else working except one thing.I have a reset button to reset the player, when I press it, it sends the string "Reset" and the unit resets without a problem. But when I add a code to close the winsock connection upon reset, it doesn't send the string to the unit. I am sure what is happening is the winsock is getting closed at the exact same time it is trying to send the string and so it fails to send, how do I make it close winsock AFTER the string has been sent? [code]
Problem (1) Basically I got a Sub handling a button click, in the Sub I start my timer. In the timer_tick, a value is assigned to a variable and then the timer stops. This variable at the given time should be used later on the sub, however whats currently happening is that the the timer is starting; but I figured the sub must continue going as the variable dosn't change till the sub ends and then the timer begins to do all its ticks so to say.So basically how would one go about making it so that once I start my timer, for the sub to stay where it is, do everything till the timer stops and then continues.
Problem (2) This is in regards to the timer being broken, basically i'll show my code below. Whats happening is that at "ElseIf county = publicx Then" the timer must be stopping right before, as it's not doing the if statement and in my form nothing is changing and its locked as the timer hasn't finished. In my timer the form should unlock before finishing, so I know for sure its not finishing. So whats going on with my timer, why is it freezing on me? Also, for the record @ count=publicx both values are 1 and the countertime=0; so the variables are correct.
Private Sub Timer_Tick(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Timer.Tick Dim CwStich As Boolean = False Dim pbName As String = ("PB" & county & publicy)[code]......
I need to Change text of label One by one with One timer For Example! "S" 'step1 "Sh" 'step2 "Sha" 'step3 "Shar" 'step4"Shari" 'step5"Shariq" 'step6"ShariqD" 'step7"ShariqDO" 'step8"ShariqDON" 'step9
