I've a chart control on a windows form & am using the following code to populate it :-

The data to populate the chart is supplied by the user & then the above code is actioned from a button click event.
I am looking for the user to be able to change the data that is inputted & re-run the graph, so my question is - how do I create a new instance of the chart each time the button is clicked ?
Normally I've been lucky to find someone who has had the same problem and applied their solution but after hours of searching I'm not able to find a solution to this one. I've got a FormView which is default mode set to Insert. When the page is loading I'm checking to see if the session variable which the formview datasource is set to has a value. If it doesn't I've coded in the onLoad that some of the controls in the InsertTemplate would be set to specified value.

Somehow Windows knows these actions are simulated. How can I reset the IDLE time?

How can I programmatically reset my form background from a picture to a solid color. I have no trouble changing it to a picture or even changing it to another picture, but when I try to change it back to a solid color, it won't work.

How do I reset it back to a color? It's stuck in a picture mode.
I have been struggling with getting FormViews to work the way Microsoft expects me to for about a day and have figure a bunch of great stuff out.
I can catch e.Exception and e.ReturnValue in the ObjectDataSource.Inserting Event Handler and I can even cheat and check other properties of the Object in the ObjectDataSource.ObjectDisposing by checking the e.ObjectInstance ... and I even learned that FormView's Inserting Handler Runs AFTER the ObjectDisposing Handler so If there is a problem found I still have time to react to it and st the e.KeepInInsertMode to true on the FormView.
My problem is, it seems that the values entered by the user into the Insert form are cleared regardless.
So, How do I Prevent a FormView from clearing after it's Insert Method has fired?
(Using ASP.NET + VB)
I don't think posting my code here will really do much good and i would have to modify it to trim out confidential business logic stuff... so I'll skip it for now.

I have found a temporary and admittedly terribly cludgy solution (in case no one ever finds a REAL solution to the problem).
I have a page variable defined as:

And then I do the following in my ItemInserted handler

The effect of this is that I am setting the values BACK to the submitted values AFTER ASP.NET binds the FormView to the default (blank) Template.

Some of the records are inserted but when the code read the part where there is an empty/null value in the column where they are assigned as "decimal" the error message "Error converting data type nvarchar to numeric." pops out.

i have a textbox with hexadecimal values and i would like to use the slidebar/scrollbar to change the values (increase/decrease) then save the final values to a text file. To prevent the program from writing to many times to the file, i decided to use a timer. As long as the user still making changes or controlling the slide/scroll bar the timer will re-load (5 seconds). When the user is done modifying (no more dragging or clicking on the arrows) at that time the timer already expired, then the value get recorded to the text file.

1. If the length of the text = 14 characters, enable the reset and start button
2. If the length of the text < 14 characters, enable the reset button, disable the start button
3. If the length of the text = 0 characters, disable both buttons
I am able to get most of it to work but when the length = 0, the start button is disabling like it's supposed to but the reset button is staying enabled. Any ideas? I have been looking at this code for hours and can't figure out why this is.

I got on my form textboxes, checboxes but also a groupbox which holds texboxes.
The idea is to be able to clear and reset all of these by clicking a reset button.
At the moment i got this

I programmatically edit my datagridview cell values. I use the vertical scrollbar to find the row I want to edit, select the row then click an edit button that takes me to another form where changes to the record are made. I then click a button which saves the changes and returns me to the datagridview form. No problems here.
When I return to the grid, the records are displayed with the first record at the top of the grid. That is, the vertical scroll bar has repositioned itself to the very top.
Is it possible for the datagridview to "remember" the position of the vertical scroll bar so that when I am returned to the grid, the rows displayed are the same as when I left?

Ok, so I am building my own program to control a video player I have through telnet, I have everything else working except one thing.I have a reset button to reset the player, when I press it, it sends the string "Reset" and the unit resets without a problem.But when I add a code to close the winsock connection upon reset, it doesn't send the string to the unit. I am sure what is happening is the winsock is getting closed at the exact same time it is trying to send the string and so it fails to send, how do I make it close winsock AFTER the string has been sent? want to make a custom calendar. For that I made a table of 7 cols and 6 rows and added 42 buttons in it. I added an event handler. I used this file in other form and when I click at the button the event is fired in form2. I understand this is not hte efficient way to add so many buttons. As it is a calendar, so I got to add dates to buttons based on month selected.I am finding that part difficult. For this feature, I think I should add buttons dynamically. But I can't make out how to add buttons to each cell of the table. Later on each buttons text will also change. I have added the code written so far :

Now I need to exclude another value ("Awaiting Progression") from a second column called "PROGRESSION".

The problem is when I want to clear the form of my user control I don't know how.
I created an array of my control called ctlCorkNotes
Say I create ctlCorkNotes(1) and now I want to delete it.
How do I do this so it is gone and would have to recreate it to show up again?
I have an ASP.NET page with a Wizard control containing several steps and about 80 form fields. The data is collected and inserted to a database from the code behind page. I need to set this form up so you can not only insert, but edit a record as well. So I want to databind the fields. I'd rather not use a FormView because then I would have to revise my existing code, since you can't access controls inside a FormView directly. Is there a way to databind the fields without using a FormView?
