View 3 RepliesI work for a somewhat large company.There are about 160 Windows XP Pro users. We are still using Microsoft Office 2000 for the most part.We have upgraded some users to Office 2003. We are not using Microsoft Exchange.I have to export every users' Outlook 2000 or Outlook 2003 Contacts into an Excel or CSV file every 6 months as a way of backing the Outlook Address Contacts.Currently I am doing this by physically going to every pc and manually exporting the contacts.This is a large pain.I am trying to find out if I can use or create a Visual Basic 2008 Express program or script that will export the contacts from Outlook and save it as an Excel or CSV file.The name of the file should be the same as the computers net name.It should be saved in the same location, on the network, each time.I am new to programming and new to VB 2008 Express.I do not know or have any code to start with.

I've been using the redemption.dll to do operations to handle emails, I just can't figure out how to count emails in the inbox. Redemption examples would be preferable, but I'll take any kind of example at this point!

I have a macro written in VB in Excel, which reads emails from Outlook. I would like to automatize this process, but everytime, when Excel wants to access the outlook, I have to give permition to do that, see http://apophis.wz.cz/permition.PNG (It's in czech, but you will see the point). Is there any way to give this permition for ever? Or for long time, such as 10 hours? (I can choose max. 10 minutes).

I am trying to develop a tool which will monitor how many emails each individual has in their own folder including a breakdown of what categories have been applied to each email (IE In my Subfolder there are 20 Emails - 10 Blue, 5 Red).I have already coded a prototype but so far I have only been able to get a general count working not a breakdown of categories.Does anybody know if this is possible? I have searched a see lots of code for setting the category with VBA but none for querying it.

View 2 RepliesI'm trying to cycle thru the emails in an Outlook Inbox, but strangely, when my code cycles thru each individual email, the order of each in the FOR....IN.... loop is non-sensicle. The loop seems to start from the email in the middle of the list, cycles down to the end, then starts at the last email received and cycles down from there. When viewed in Outlook and sorted by latest email first and descending, the emails seems to be in order. This is my code:

Should I have to sort the emails first by received date descending? If so, how do I do that? If you look at my code, I have attempted that but it doesn't seem to work.
I have a VB6 app migrated to VB.NET / VS2010 currently under test. Issue is with integration between the app and Outlook (2003). In summary the app opens an Outlook Explorer window to let the user view a calendar and update appointment items, any changes made are validated and if OK written to a db.
There are two methods here, one handles event Item_Change and does the validation / updates, the other handles Explorer_Close and tidies up all the Outlook objects. There is a condition in the Item_Change method ("If rs.RecordCount = 0 Then") which if detected needs the Outlook Explorer to be closed programmatically.

View 1 RepliesI have really struggled on a simple problem which is trying to send an email through my vb application, I have search the web inside out and even looked at a few examples but it just doesn�t make any sense to me. Ive read about SMTP servers and MAPI but don�t really understand much, I did also download the MAPI ddl file however I dont know what to do next. Ideally what I would like is just something simple, take the text from a few textboxes and show that text in the body of the text in the email (Im using Outlook but if its easier using something else then fine.)
Well anyway recently I got to the point where I was about to give up but I came across something, In my vb application I placed a link label, and under the tag of the link label I put the following text: mailto test@test.com (obviously for spam reasons I have not included my email address.)
The under the link label click event I put the following: System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(LinkLabel1.Tag.ToString()) What this does is simple, it opens up outlook express and the mailto address is pasted in the To address, as this is the most easiest way I have come across trying to send an email would it be possible to take all the text from the textboxces and show the text in the main body of the email?

It was working fine but suddenly since from yesterday, 2 mails are sent by same obj1.Send() (In both the mails date time are same.) I have not changed code or used any loop for sending mail.
I have a standard HTML page with an CKEditor on it wrapped in a form.The form submits (POSTS) to Send_Emails.aspx
Send_Emails.aspx reads the content of the FCKEditor into a variable

1) how to send bulk email using asp.net.. , have you googled this it has so many softwares but i have to implement in .net. ie: if i send the email to 10,000 users so i have send email at a time , each user should get personalized email on TO address , suppose if the email doesnt exist or not working etc. so i have to show the status of each and every userid whether email is send or not..

I then navigate to the second email address, click the button, and, again, the email is sent just fine. Then I encounter problems. After sending two, if I try to send any more, I get an error telling me the operation has timed out? I have no choice then but to quit my application and try again - and it will then send two, before giving me the error.
