In my class i want to return the filepath into a tectbox on an other form, but it won't return the filepath after saving. Probally because it is a sub an't won't return a value am i correct? But what is the right way to fix this?

I'm making an auto-typer and I need it to only send one line of a multi-lined textbox at a time. It looks like this right now;

I want the Textbox2.text to be entered one line at a time and then to sleep for the desired time.
Are there any good books out there that will show someone how to set up a form using Visual basic that will take information and send it to the server and then send a recipient an Email?
View 2 RepliesI am trying to send keys to a control on my form. But I am getting a NullReferenceException and I don't know why. The code is about as basic as it gets: [Code] The error reported is object reference not set to an instance of an object but Send is a shared method so doesn't need an instance. Strangely if I ignore the error it works fine and F4 is passed to the control. I know there was an issue with sendkeys and UAC but I thought this had been solved (I am using 4.0 framework).

I know how to open a file that is all good, what i would like to know is a method to give a string the filepath to folder called templates that is (my dumb way of describing it) shown in the solution explorer of the ide.
I could give it the actual string as the location like "documentsandsettings etc etc" but incase the project is stored on a usb stick and used from there i would like to know the proper way of doing this.

First time using with a wpf console app. The console shows up and the console appender works exactly as in the winforms app. However in winforms I never had to give the full path to the log4net xml file. It is located in the same place where all the cs files are. (the default place where VS 2010 puts all its source files. So

works in a winforms app's Program.cs->main() but for the wpf version where I have my own Startup class with my own Main() (instead of the autogenerated and hidden main()) I have to change the line to look like this

What I need is an extra bit at the end that takes the first bitmap file found and puts it in a picturebox called "PicCenter".
I need to have this done through converting its filepath to the image itself.

I have a parent form that has a list of items and each item has a unique ID. The user can open one or many of the items in a child form (it is set up in a tabbed MDI), but it can only open one instance of each item at a time.
In the parent form, I was going to make a collection (or something like that, maybe there is a better way) to keep track of which items are open in the child forms. I need to know when each child is closed so that it can be removed from the collection and reopened at a later time. I was thinking that when the child form closes, it somehow does something (like raise an event) that tells the parent form to remove the unique ID from the list of current open child forms.
My questions are, is this a good way to do this and I am pretty sure I would use the form closed event in the child form to update that parent form, but as well, I didn't know if this is the best way of handling it.
If raising the event is a good way, are some examples on how to do it out there? I found some for controls, but not while the form is closing/closed.
I am working on my application that I have two forms to work with, as the one are for search and replace text and the other form are the normal form. However, I want to know how I can use the sendkeys on the form1 when I highlight for each line of the text in the textbox on form1 to press the enter key and start firing for each line of the highlighted text?And how I can do the sendkeys to the form1 when I open the search and replace dialog to input the search text in the textbox then click the button to sendkeys on my form1 and firing for each line of the highlighted text?
