My ComboBox's Items have 2 parts, code and content. I want to set code part to the comboBox's Text property.
I've set so that when I select an Item, only the code part of that Item is displayed in the comboBox. But when I click the DropDown button, the whole Item's text(code part and content part) is displayed in the comboBox.
Can I set the comboBox's Text when the DropDown button is click?
I have a web form in which i have droped 6 dropdownlists and each dropdownlist have previous seven dates to open files from a specific folder concatenated with date at the end of file name.Problem is that when i select first dropdown list it opens file fine but when i select a date from anyother dropdownlist to open file then it open the same file which was opened from the first dropdownlist.Please see the code and make correction in it.

I am working on the Combobox.I was bind the data from Access database to Combobox in the DropDown Event.Now whn i click the Dropdown for selecting value , for one click the dropdown list is not showing. Some System is coming within few milliseconds it went out for second click the list is coming.This happens only whn i click the combobox first time in the form.After second time onwards the dropdown list coming properly.

I have a combobox and have 10 items in it (Name of countries). I want to make the users life easy so that when they click inside the combobox and start writing then the text box will start predicting the rest of the text in the combo box. i.e. if i start writing "U" then the textbox will start predicting "UK" as "UK" is already a pre-populated item in the combobox.
How can I restrict the user from selecting only values within the pre-populated items of the combobox. Bearing in mind the combobox allows the user to write inside it (for the benefit of predictive text). But lets say there are values of UK, USA then I dont want the combobox to accept the value of "Ukraine" when the user clicks away from the combobox.

There are over 45K lines, so speed is important.I need to load one of the fields into a dropdown box and have another field (label) display the text of another field in the related line.I could import the file to an access db if needed, but would rather not as i also want the txt file to update from a link on a regular bases. I have one checking in a textbox Leave event. I will go check whether this ID is already exist in DB or not. If exist, I will prompt MSG box to user.
When I click on Close button while focus is on textbox, this textbox Leave Event will trigger first before Button Click event.
So, the form remains open without trigger Button Click event.

I'm Making a Simple syntax highlighter and I'm Doing the highlighting in the text Changed event of a RTB and for obvious reasons I can't re highlight the whole document each time someone presses a key so i highlight one line each time the text changes. But this creates a Problem. If someone pastes code into the RichTextBox It only highlights the last Line. So is there a way to get if the user typed the text in with his keyboard or pasted it from the clipboard in the text Changed event?

What control should i use if i want a button with default text on it and when i press on it, it give a drop down menu that i can select different commands. I tried a combobox which seems to be very close to what i want. i set the dropdownstyle to dropdownlist so it looks like a button. but i cant seem to set a default text on the box and i dont want this text to be in the item list. also when i set the dropdownwidth to a value larger than the combobox width, it will align left.

I used the proper addhandler and assigned the correct name to my sub. I have the click event changing the background color to blue and the doubleclick event changing the background color to green. The background color does not change to green. Why?

It has a datagrid with clients info (taken from an access database) and a few textboxes where the user can type some search criteria. The thing is that those same textboxes are used to add new clients to the database and to modify a client's information if one from the datagrid is selected, so I made it that the buttons to insert and modify clients are disabled on load and thenevery time the text on a textbox changes ("TextChanged" event) they become enabled. So far so good. But then I wanted to make it so when a client from the datagrid is selected both buttons become disabled again until the text on a textbox changes (to make sure they're adding a different client and not the same one that was
selected).
I tried using the CellClick event from the datagrid to disable the buttons, but since every time a client is selected from the datagrid the info is shown on the textboxes, this triggers the TextChanged event too, and the buttons become available.So, is there a way I can tell the TextChanged event not to be triggered when the CellClick event occurs?

I have an number of text boxes and comboboxes on different forms. I have textchanged events which trigger a msgbox if the user enters invalid data(i.e. the number they enter is to big or to small). Is their a simple way to make the program not call the textchanged event when the form is loaded and the boxes get their initial value? Second is their a way to make the textchanged only be triggered when the user enters data not when the program clears the boxes?
