So if i was to select red i would like the return to be "Red" and so on so fourth.Another thing i would like to ask is if it is possible to return the color selected as a string in hex color code form (like what is used in HTML for example #FFFFFF, #000000 and so on so fourth).I have a feeling though that it can only be returned as R G B integers but maybe there is a way of converting these to hex color codes?

My problem arises when I want to reset the color back to normal. In my form when you click Cancel or move to a new record, all fields are disabled (set to read only) until the 'Edit' button is clicked. Visually this is represented by the field backgrounds being gray. VB.Net automatically changes the text box/combo boxes backcolor to gray when I disable them. However, once I have explicitly changed a control's backcolor, thereafter disabling it does not change its color to gray.

I have tried changing the backcolor to System.Drawing.SystemColors.Window, but the problem is the same. The control whose color has been changed is disabled (won't accept entry) but the backcolor remains white, no matter how many times DisableFields() is issued.
The BackColor of the forms in Visual Studio are a light grey, called Control in the Properties panel. How would I set the BackColor property of a Label to this default color?

In my program I have a picturebox. using the .onEnter and .onLeave events for the mouse I have the cursor change to a cross (one of the default cursors) and it does like a transparent grayscale thing and changes color a bit depending on what is behind it. The issue with that is that all the images I look at are grayscale images so it gets a bit lost. I am wondering if there is a way to use this default cursor and apply a different color to it?

There is a reset button to put the colors to how they were without any special coloring, but I can't get them to go back to how they originally looked.They go to gray in the middle, instead of the nice shaded blue/gray style. I have tried a few different things:

I want the background of my form to be the same color as the window frame color that the user selects, even if that changes. I selected System->WindowFrame as my background color, but it always remains a dark grey, regardless of what I have my window color set to. How else would I achieve what I want? For Example
FF00FF,00FFFF stuff like that, but most are custom colors and are not a standard 256 color palette. So I need code to convert a color to a 256 color. I dont have any idea on how to do this, but thats why I came here. I do not want to use System.Graphics.Image.Palette or anything like that as this project uses arrays for images. I would like to if at all possible be able to convert a R, G, B color to 8bit, 16bit, 256bit and possibly use the HSL or NeuQuant method or something close to that, or maybe even some other methods of doing it. I do need to be able to do this for a single pixel, but I will also need a method for a array of them.

I'd like to do that in my application but can't find the answer on how you do it.
To change the backcolor on a textbox, the user double clicks the box and it shows the color dialog.
I think I have all the properties set right -- fully open to show custom colors etc.
BUT, it doesn't show the current color.
They all have 0 0 0 rgb.
