View 1 RepliesWith VB2008 I am working with a picturebox that I am capturing the pointer position on a mouseup event. I am using the following to get the mouse location
Private Sub PictureBox1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.MouseEventArgs) Handles PictureBox1.MouseUp
Dim mp As Point = PictureBox1.PointToClient(MousePosition)
'...
End Sub
This appeared to work fine until I tested it on a Windows 7 system. The mouse position it captures is wrong (is offset from the actual click). If you make multiple clicks, they are positioned correctly relatively to each other, but they are skewed away from the point(s) you are actually clicking. Its like they are off a fixed amount. It works 100% in Win XP. Could it have something to do with the Aero theme on Win 7? Would this happen to be a known issue or result from a common coding mistake?
Does anyone know how to set the x and y coordinates of the image inside a picturebox.

I found a bunch of tutorials but they are irrelevant and do not work for vb 2008 express.
VB 6 has a ScaleHeight and ScaleWidth property which VB 2008 does not support and this is causing me fits to work around. I'm trying to draw some lines (a graph) on a Picture Box (or a Panel) using my own coordinates (not pixels). This can't be all that hard can it?
View 3 Repliesdoes anyone know how to connect points of a label? Let's say I have a label and start the label at point 0,0. Aterwards, the points jumps to 3,6 ... then to 6, 9 dynamically based on incrementing 3. How do I show for example, the path it takes to let users know where they are? for example, 0,0 --> 0,3 --> 3,6 --> 6,9 --> etc. I've tried with drawline but unfortunately, this leaves my lable in a mess.
View 1 RepliesI am trying to build a coordinates system but am having trouble with how to.. What I have sofar is a textbox that allows the user to enter a length. This length is user defined but never smaller then 610 in length since this is the minimum unit size we use to build timber frames. The overall length of a timber frame is infinite (well not really, but it is for what I want) the timber frame has beams every 610mm set apart from each other (this is a legal requirement) so I want my vb.net to set coordinates for each beam at intervals of 610 then write that coordinates system to a text based *.SCR file

I want to translate MouseArgEvent.Location (x,y) coordinates into my custom graph coordinates. Mouse Y coordinates increase from top to bottom while my grid's y value increase from bottom to top. Given my following code, I would need to create 21,500 separate conditional expression for 100(y) x 215(x) possible coordinate locations for my grid.
Sub OnMouseMove(ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.MouseEventArgs)
If e.X > 48 AndAlso e.X < 50 AndAlso e.Y > 397 AndAlso e.Y < 399 Then
MessageBox.Show("about 0,0")

Develop a Company Logo application that allows users to draw shapes. The application should provide the user with RadioButtons to allow the selection of the next shape to be drawn. TextBoxes should be provided to allow the user to enter coordinates (X and Y coordinates) of the shape, the width and the height of the shapes. Users should also be able to change the shapes colour.my question is how to allow the user to enter coordinates (X and Y coordinates) of the shape, the width and the height of the shapes and change the shapes color from combo box. pro help

View 4 RepliesI am trying to get a access picture attachment to show in an vb.net picture box. At start up, I add an attachment field to the database, and add pictures to the database in jpg form. I then connect the database to vb project using the general vb settings. The connection is successful, I then add a picture box control to the form along with changing the attachment field to a picture box setting at this point every thing should be good. However, when I go to run the program the picture box remains empty.
View 1 RepliesSometimes, I have a picturebox lets say 100x100. But the image it will display is actually 100x400. I don't want to increase the size of the picturebox itself. Instead, I would like to create a vertical scrollbar (or horizontal if needed). I could not find a scrollbar in the toolbox, so I guess I have to code it. But, how? And I still wonder if I didn't make a mistake and didn't see the scrollbar in the toolbox.
View 3 RepliesIn my form, there are many controls and the people who will use the final program are not very computer literate people. For this reason, I would like to use arrows which blink beside the control in order to show the order of controls to use (just like a visual guide). I also make the controls active-inactive in a proper order but a visual guide will also be musch of use...I guess I can do this by either using picture boxes beside each control or draw method (which I do not yet know how to use). But if I use a picturebox, how will I give the blinking (or fade in & out effect)? For blinking effect, should I use a timer or anything else?

I have done a lot of googling and tested a few snippets of code i can't seem to get this, all i want to do is show an image in my picturebox1 that is from the web instead of on my harddrive, i thought:

How do you make the image in a picturebox vanish when you change an option? I have tried a few different ways that i have seen but none have worked. I have it set so when i change an option in a listbox it will change the picture and data in other controls, however one option in the listbox has no data to fill in those controls and so gets left blank. However when i click on that option right now the images that were in the picturebox before get left behind until i click on another option that has a picture. So how do i remove the picture from the box?

I have a picture box. The user can click with in the picture box. Anywhere they click it will draw another Ellipse. The problem is the edges of the picture boxes cut the image of the newly drawn ellipse. Is there a way draw the new ellipse so the user can see the entire thing?
View 6 RepliesThis is for my really advanced game maker. Which is really working well. But when I went to remake the game player and speed it up, I quit painting the map on the form and the char. So my idea now is the make a picturebox on the form contain the map image and then make another picturebox on top of that one. Now the first pictreubox contrains controls the user created, very useful thats why I switched to a picturebox. And the second one contains the char, anyway, The one that contains the char needs to be able to show the controls behind it, or my game maker wont work. The char image its self is transparent but I need to make that picturebox show all the controls behind it so that if that picturebox moves onto a user control they can still see it beneath the char.
