I found a bunch of tutorials but they are irrelevant and do not work for vb 2008 express.

This appeared to work fine until I tested it on a Windows 7 system. The mouse position it captures is wrong (is offset from the actual click). If you make multiple clicks, they are positioned correctly relatively to each other, but they are skewed away from the point(s) you are actually clicking. It�s like they are off a fixed amount. It works 100% in Win XP. Could it have something to do with the Aero theme on Win 7? Would this happen to be a known issue or result from a common coding mistake?

Jul 27, 2009I'm trying to make a -what i thought would be simple app.My intention was to build program that:1) i'd provide a grayscale image2) the program would count the black pixels the grey pixels the more grey pixels etc. (the hue) and the white3) would make the percentage sum of all pixels, that is: 300.000 black pixels (rgb 0 0 0) etc. given that 0 is the black, 100 the white. e.g a simple grayscale image is 55.2 white
This was my way and i don't think that is useful:
First of a button to convert the image to greyscale:

Secondly, -and that's the stupid way- i did -or better i wanted to do- this: i put the code to dynamically create labels, each label having the colour of a pixel as background colour and as text the colour converted to rgb
The third step which i intended to do (i couldn't get pas two) was to sum up the labels etc.

Dec 2, 2010I am trying to build a coordinates system but am having trouble with how to.. What I have sofar is a textbox that allows the user to enter a length. This length is user defined but never smaller then 610 in length since this is the minimum unit size we use to build timber frames. The overall length of a timber frame is infinite (well not really, but it is for what I want) the timber frame has beams every 610mm set apart from each other (this is a legal requirement) so I want my vb.net to set coordinates for each beam at intervals of 610 then write that coordinates system to a text based *.SCR file

Mouse Y coordinates increase from top to bottom while my grid's y value increase from bottom to top. Given my following code, I would need to create 21,500 separate conditional expression for 100(y) x 215(x) possible coordinate locations for my grid.

The problem is the white text always changes colour slightly so when i use getpixel the value(as long) is always changing although it is always regonisably white.convert them into black and white or is there any range of values which describe the white color?

Aug 8, 2009I have been making an online role playing-game in VB2008 and inside the gameloop for the client there is some code that "smoothes" out the movement (instead of it being choppy from tile to tile.) It works pretty well but I'm having problems figuring out a math formula to get a good frame timer interval to set how fast the frames change based on how many pixels they can move per loop.Testing stuff out I found that 250ms is an ideal frame timer interval for 1.0 pixel movement per loop. If I were to double the movement step of pixels by 2 lets say (2.0 pixel step per loop) I found that the frame timer interval should be around 125ms. How can I get the frame timer interval by the movement step of pixels? In cases where the movement step can anything between 0.1 to 4.0 pixels.

Everything works fine but after running through the paint event handler and showing the picture on the screen it calls the painthandler again and again. It does not stop.
Replacing the code above with
Dim g As Graphics = e.Graphics
Makes it running. But then I cant save the Image to a file.
