I am learning VB 2008 Express Edition to solve the following issue: how do I put the color of each pixel in a table, allocate a code (from 1 to 256 in the case of a 256 colors picture) to each different colors and print these codes at the right place on a grid? A few years ago, I had a basic knowledge of VB6 but VB6 being not compatible with Windows 7, I had to install a new version, VB 2008 Express edition, version that I don't know at all!

Anyways, i have coded a video downloaded and i want to include a converter as a separate exe file. But obviously people may have different file directories so a simple piece of code i have used won't work. This is what i have: Also where would i place the exe file?

This explains a lot why I was having much trouble determining the color of pixels. They are inverted!

This is a VB .NET application where we are showing the output of a SQL statement in a Datagrid view. using .NET 2005.We need to get the seperators of the headers on the grid control to be the same colors as the GridColor on the form. See the picture below:We've tried looking through all of the properties of the DataGridView control, and found some interesting things that looked promising such as the DataGridViewAdvancedHeaderStyle, and DataGridViewHeaderBorderStyle, but none of it seems to allow you to change the colors on it.Does anyone know how to do this without remaking the entire thing with a GDI+ control?

I need to write some vb.net code that looks at a picture and "removes" the blackish pixels.Here's the scenario. A wound care doctor takes a picture of a persons hand on a flat bed scanner. The nice pink palm print is there but it is surrounded by blackish pictures. I want to make the picture pop by programatically "removing" or recoloring the pixels that are in the blackish range. i.e. the Photoshop magic wand select and delete.I have not code to start off. Hoping for some reference code and not just pcode.

I'm trying to make a -what i thought would be simple app.My intention was to build program that:1) i'd provide a grayscale image2) the program would count the black pixels the grey pixels the more grey pixels etc. (the hue) and the white3) would make the percentage sum of all pixels, that is: 300.000 black pixels (rgb 0 0 0) etc. given that 0 is the black, 100 the white. e.g a simple grayscale image is 55.2 white
This was my way and i don't think that is useful:
First of a button to convert the image to greyscale:

Secondly, -and that's the stupid way- i did -or better i wanted to do- this: i put the code to dynamically create labels, each label having the colour of a pixel as background colour and as text the colour converted to rgb
The third step which i intended to do (i couldn't get pas two) was to sum up the labels etc.

I have created an Excel AddIn that has a custom ribbon with some custom buttons...I'm using Excel 2010. One of the buttons is to save the the workbook by utilizing the users input as the file name. This workbook is to be saved as a template in a specified folder. The code also checks to see if the file already exists, and prompts the user to overwrite if it does already exist.The code I have seems to be working just fine. The problem is...when I try to open the newly saved workbook, it won't open.Here is the entire code for the button click event:

I saved a text file. The text characters were in RichTextBox iwth multiple lines. I used
RichTextBox1.AppendText(ControlChars.Cr) or RichTextBox.AppendText(ControlChars.Lf)
at the end of each line, but when I opened this text file using NotePad, all lines were displayed with ONE line. The strange thing is: if I open the same text file using other editors, .e.g. an IDE of Microchip or Freescale or Multi-edit...the text display had multiple lines as expected.
What should I do to make display as expected in NotePad?

I made a buttom that saves info from RichTextBox to selected location now My problem is I want this file to be loaded when program loads so basicly folder will look like this
myprogram.exe CustomNamesFolder > Inside that folder there will be a file called names.txt how can I doit so that name.txt file loads in my ComboBox? so when user downloads the exe they can just go in to folder edit the .txt file and add names they want and when they start program it will load this list in to the ComboBox of my program
How can I achive this ? I looked at 6 pages of Loading Files in program but non told me what I wanted to know above ;s

when reading it back into the textboxes i was needing to chop off the surrounding parameters:

Is there a way to just grab the data in between the brackets like an explode function of sorts?

I am developing a small windows application(vb.net) in vs2005.I will have a grid view that will keep on refreshing for every 5 seconds.For that grid, I want to set a background image which I can do.But my problem is, while refreshing the grid image also get refreshed which make the form unpleasant to view. So, I try to make the grid backcolor as transparent so that I can utilize the form background image which will solve my problem. But I got the error message that, we can not set the grid back color to transparent. Is there any way to achieve this.

i'm building an application using ms chart control on VB 2010. I want my chart look something like that:url...is it possible to achieve similar results in VB?
1) is it possible to remove that black grid of vb chart, or just remove half of it (like in that example)?
2)is it possible to change the color of that grid?
3)is it possible to rotate the axis? for example Y goes from top to bottom, X goes from left to right?

I know how to draw a grid with dots,system.Windows.Forms.ControlPaint.DrawGrid(e.Graphics, e.ClipRectangle, New Size(NewMap.MapX, NewMap.MapY), Color. Blue)But what i dont know how to do is make a grid with lines do i do like a loop and put squares up untell they = a given amount.Also when that is done how do i make it so if the mouse clicks a square in the grid, that it changes color? I got a sorta grid working it makes a good grid for the first like 5 squares then it makes more and they increase in size. [code]

When using the Property Grid and exposing a color property from an object you get this kind of interface for color selection: There are tabs for System and Web, those are fine, but the Custom tab (shown) which seems to be a subset of the standard windows color picker, seems to be hobbled. How do you create custom colors? How do you get custom colors into those white color boxes provided?

I have a grid containing rows flagged with different priorities. i need to programm an application which reads the pixels from screen and then manage to read the word. The problem is the white text always changes colour slightly so when i use getpixel the value(as long) is always changing although it is always regonisably white.convert them into black and white or is there any range of values which describe the white color?
Note: This is not for violation of any rules especially because its a game programmed with java.
