i need to programm an application which reads the pixels from screen and then manage to read the word. The problem is the white text always changes colour slightly so when i use getpixel the value(as long) is always changing although it is always regonisably white.convert them into black and white or is there any range of values which describe the white color?
Note: This is not for violation of any rules especially because its a game programmed with java.
i made this class to get certain pixels from screen:
[Code]...
Now i have lets say and array of pixels Example: Pixel 1 position X:100 Y:200 Red: 200 Green: 30 Blue: 40 Now i need to search all the sreen to find that pixel witout knowing its position. I need to have an output of number of results found and their position tnx.
I'm trying to make a -what i thought would be simple app.My intention was to build program that:1) i'd provide a grayscale image2) the program would count the black pixels the grey pixels the more grey pixels etc. (the hue) and the white3) would make the percentage sum of all pixels, that is: 300.000 black pixels (rgb 0 0 0) etc. given that 0 is the black, 100 the white. e.g a simple grayscale image is 55.2 white
This was my way and i don't think that is useful:
First of a button to convert the image to greyscale:
Dim bm as new Bitmap(source.Width,source.Height)
Dim x
Dim y
[CODE]...
Secondly, -and that's the stupid way- i did -or better i wanted to do- this: i put the code to dynamically create labels, each label having the colour of a pixel as background colour and as text the colour converted to rgb
The third step which i intended to do (i couldn't get pas two) was to sum up the labels etc.
I come straight to the point without going too far. I need to scan all the pixels of a generic image and for each pixel derive the RGB components. I started with the following function that performs its task very good and returns 3 array (R, G, B) with the different values, but unfortunately is too slow.
I need to know the size of A4 paper in pixels, does anyone know this, I want to be able to print at 100,100 on a piece of paper, and it be in the exact same position as in my form.
How to convert twips to pixels with VisualBasic 2008?There is a windows application writen by vb6 and it has a main form 1000 twips high and it is in the top position. There is an another form writen by vb 2008 and i would like to fit under the vb6 form.[code]...
I need to analyze a 100 x 100 image in less than a second I need to find out if the image contains any red pixels.I have an application that provides that functionality but it's not as fast as it needs to be.
is there anyway i could count the number of say Black pixels in my picturebox say i have a picture in it that has 1 black pxiel i would like to to but that to a string so i could put it in a textbox or a msgbox like this
so in RGB black would be 0-0-0 but how would i have it scan the pixtuebox and count how many pixels show up with the rgb color 0-0-0
I'm trying to analyze the number of a, b, c, d and e after applying the curve percentage selected by the user. Here is what I have so far. I'm using for loop and its adding the curves to the grade distribution.
Public Class frmHW13 'Variables Dim grade As Double Dim avail As Integer Dim curved As Integer [Code] .....
Any right direction for best practices of memory allocation. (i.e., disposing of forms, setting variables to nothing). I am writing a program and for now, I just monitor it in Task Manager. I notice that the size change isn't very balanced. The amount of memory used when a new form loads isn't as much as when that same form is closed. (either by button or by the 'x'). I want to get a handle on this before I get too deep in the program.
I have been making an online role playing-game in VB2008 and inside the gameloop for the client there is some code that "smoothes" out the movement (instead of it being choppy from tile to tile.) It works pretty well but I'm having problems figuring out a math formula to get a good frame timer interval to set how fast the frames change based on how many pixels they can move per loop.Testing stuff out I found that 250ms is an ideal frame timer interval for 1.0 pixel movement per loop. If I were to double the movement step of pixels by 2 lets say (2.0 pixel step per loop) I found that the frame timer interval should be around 125ms. How can I get the frame timer interval by the movement step of pixels? In cases where the movement step can anything between 0.1 to 4.0 pixels.
I have a external hardware that has a miniplug output that i connected to my pc microphone input. That output has two posible states, white noise or no sound at all. What im trying to do is an application that would fire an event every time there is a change from one state to the other.
So, I've started to work on a big project that involves analysing text and changing that text into a whole new group of words that relate to it and say pretty much the same thing but through different text, I'm just looking to see if there is a thesaurus or dictionary I can access through visual basic... instead of having to right every single word in the english dictionary out.. or if there is any shorter way I could do this.
I am learning VB 2008 Express Edition to solve the following issue: how do I put the color of each pixel in a table, allocate a code (from 1 to 256 in the case of a 256 colors picture) to each different colors and print these codes at the right place on a grid? A few years ago, I had a basic knowledge of VB6 but VB6 being not compatible with Windows 7, I had to install a new version, VB 2008 Express edition, version that I don't know at all!
I send a message a while ago and no one answerd, how can I draw directly on the screen (not on a specific window) just on the screen, neither if it's on the desktop or anything else.Is there is any option to bring up the switch between applications window (Alt + Tab), I don't want to use sendkeys because the user need to keep the key down and I just want the user to select the application with his mouse.
I have a button btnRegEx that when pressed shows a ContextMenuStrip, similar to the '>' button in the Find/Replace dialog in Visual Studio when you are using Regular Expressions. I have a ContextMenuStrip cms which I show using its Show(x,y) method.
At first I was simply setting x and y (the location of the ContextMenuStrip) to some point next to the button, but I noticed that when the button is close to the edge of the screen it goes off screen. I wanted to prevent that so I built some logic into the x-y calculation. When the ContextMenuStrip width is larger than the 'remaining space left' I simply show it more to the left. Same for its Height of course. I am using the Screen.GetWorkingArea(point) method to determine the 'remaining space left'. As I understand it, it returns the working area closest to the point you specify (to which I pass the button's location).
As long as I stay on my first monitor, it is all working perfectly fine. The problem occurs when I move the form to my second monitor. The contextmenustrip is still showing on the first monitor for some reason...
Here is the code I am using:
vb.net Private Sub btnRegEx_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnRegEx.Click Dim p As Point = PointToScreen(New Point(btnRegEx.Left, btnRegEx.Top)) Dim x, y As Integer
[CODE]...
I have noticed that when I click the button when the form is on the second monitor, the buttons location (p) is calculated with the first monitor's top-left corner as (0,0), even though it is on the second monitor. This way, the GetWorkingArea function returns something like 1280, while the buttons x-location is something like 1700... So, how do I get the buttons coordinate relative to the actual screen it is on, rather than the entire dual monitor screens as a whole?
I am basically reading a text file with info like this: "S1($=""ChW System Pressure"",V=134.00,%=""Pa""),S2($=""UPS_Batt Rm 1to4 Circ A Flow "",V=9.17,%=""DegC""),S3($=""UPS_Battery Rm Sec ChW Rtn"",V=-38.38,%=""DegC""),S4($=""Buffer Vessel BV-02 High Temp"",V=9.08,%=""DegC""),...
And I'm trying to write a program that read the data, filters the sections so that per line it does the bit before the brackets i.e. "S1" then a comma then the sections inside the brackets as comma separated values removing the double quotes and symbols I don't want etc. Basically dividing the separate S*'s onto different lines and separating the values with comma's. There are also other points which are a different letter than "'S" and the same to do with them to.
All the code i found for multi-threading is complex and not clear. What i want to do is creating a thread for reading and analyzing a big text file on Form_Load event, so that the form UI building continue without waiting for reading and analyzing the file finish.
BTW this issue occurs in any MS office program when the VB.Net (or even VBA) is processing information.Example: In Excel, a worksheet is displayed on the screen. I start either, a VB.Net or VBA procedure and within 30 seconds the Excel worksheet (previously displayed) blanks out. In both VB.Net and VBA,ScreenUpdating = False. My expectation is that the previously displayed screen would stay static as if I left my desk to get a cup of coffee; came back and the same ole Excel worksheet was still there?Of course, setting VBA Screen Updating = False accomplishes two goals: 1) speeds up processing and 2) saves the user from seeing unnecessary "garbage-processing" steps. Why does VBA or VB.Net ScreenUpdating = False not freeze the screen at the time of its invoking?
i`m trying to find in cm or mm the area of a frame (capture image). The picturebox has dimensions height:456 and width:553 PIXELS.So the total number of pixels are 456 x 553 = 252,168
If i compare image 1 with image 2 i can locate and draw a rectangle around that area of pixels that are different.i can get the width and the height of this rectangle in PIXELS.e.g Height:49 Width:33 PIXELS
How can i covert these into cm or mm. What i need to know for the conversion?
I know dpi: dots per inch but what`s the value for my rectangle?
I would like to believe that this code will display a horizontal line halfway across the PictureBox pbxData. In fact, what it does is create the BitMap and then blow up with a memory violation when trying to copy the BitMap into the PictureBox. The code that alters the array is commented out because I don't know how to address the elements of the array.
how to make this into useful code?
Imports System.Runtime.InteropServices Public Class Form1 Private b1 As Bitmap
Is there a way of converting pixels to points? The dimensions in VB are in pixels, but Office COM such as WordApp.Resize are expressed in points. So trying to align app windows is a mess.I guess the ratio of pixels to points varies from one monitor to another(?), so this would need to be calculated at run time.I tried a nifty trick of doing Me.Font.SizeInPoints / Me.FontHeight but that doesnt seem to be quite right or a very sensible way of doing it.
