I think its better if i attach my files for you understand what i wanted to happen in my program.
We are now in our finals and for our project we need to make a program that shows connection of database(sql or access) and vb.net so dont mind if it has a problem in design or anything bcoz the objective of this project is to show what we've learn in our subject IT Programming 1 (vb.net)
I dont know what to do in this part of my program. what to do first? why is it attaching zip files is not allowed?

After running the following sub (VS debugger), I try to detach the database in SSMS, but it shows the connection open still and won't let me detach. If I close program in debugger, the database shows no connections. I check the dataadapter's connection in the finally block and is shows closed. What gives

I want to create program in vb2008 express with ms access database. Can somebody help me so i can learn how to program using classes hard coded. I have learned vb6 before but it has a big difference on vb2008.
I have a database named "DATABASE" in ms access 2003 and the details are: Table :

All the CAPITALIZED name are Table and all items inside the parenthesis are fieldnames. I don't know where to start on working on this RECORDS. I was able to understand visual basic 6 a bit, and i am trying to apply the coding to VB 2008 but all i get is errors. I am hopeless now and i need help to be able to start my programs. If someone can give me a sample code, i think i would be able to trace the line of code to be able to understand it. I am currently an inventory manager on the small company i was working with and i like to organize my record by using database.

I have written a simple VB.NET program that connects to a MS Access Database. This program runs in Windows 7 XP Mode, but does not run properly in straight Windows 7. Somehow, the Windows 7 does not connect properly or read the MS Access database data properly with the DataAdapter.Fill method. I have dual monitors, so I can run the identical program side by side (one in Windows 7 and the other in XP Mode) - one works and the other doesn't (it doesn't crash, it just get "nothing" from the database when accessing - acts like it's not connected). Has anyone else run into this, or similar, problem with VB.NET and MS Access connectivity?

I am working on program in vb2008 and facing problem in making a PAYROLL SYSTEM.. well, I've done some of its parts and functions but the main part of it is still unsolved -- the computation of tax!! our boss want that when you input a basic monthly salary, the semisalary will be computed.. minus the sss, pag-ibig and philhealth.. then the tax will be computed but also depending on the number of dependents the employee have...

What I've done is that I'm trying to display those values when the the textbox corresponding to it was clicked. We get each value in our database stored on textboxes from the formtables of sss & philhealth.

Im making just a fun project using visual studio 2010. Its a simple password manager. The issue im having is trying to put the information from my Access database into a gridview. The issue im having is that it just doesnt do it, no error, just no results. I have done some looking, tried different examples but no luck on this.

We're working in the book "Advanced Programming Using Visual Basic 2008.(Pg.34, Praying that someone has the book) Anyway, I suppose to create an payroll program, I have the layout done. What I having trouble with is the coding, I mean, how do I start? I know how to code the buttons and menus. But, I don't understand how to input the codes for the employees, or allow only #'s to be placed in the text box.The payroll, suppose to be able to calculate the employees Hours, Rate, and Pay. So i'm creating a simple application as an example that is to link to a Access 2007 database.
On my main form i have four listboxes that are correctly attached to the table, I have one for First Name, Last Name, Phone, and School. I added 3 records to the database in Access to see if I could display the records in the listboxes on the form. I found that it was very easy by setting the properties and I have no problem there. I also have a command button that loads a new form for the purpose of adding a record to the database.

What i'm looking for is when the user presses the Add button on the frmAddNew form then it needs to close and the new record is listed in the textboxes and saved to the database. Id also like to know all kinds of things i might be able to do with textboxes and databases because i'm trying to learn for a larger project where i'll need to keep track of hundreds of records.
I understand that this is a simple procedure, but i've been spending all night scouring tutorials and getting lost in the msdn library online, so maybe some human input will be better.

I'm looking to write a custom program in VB.NET / C++ / C# that would allow me to monitor a system's vitals over a Remote Desktop Connection. I'm only looking for tips on how to implement a connection like this in code (eg. is it just a simple object or call to a WScript function? or is it much more sophisticated?). As to the specifics of operation after making the connection, I have that figured out based on another program which shares some similar features. This doesn't have to go through an RDP connection, I'm definitely looking for better ways. Reason I mention RDP is because I currently do this manually over an RDP connection, but I don't wanna have to constantly open the window.

I am trying to make a very simple program that connects to a MySQL database using VB.NET. My program only has one form and one label. I setup my MySQL database to have a table and one field (a VARCHAR)called "Tab1". I manually inserted the value "CLOSED" into the Tab1 field using PHPMyAdmin. I want my program to change the value of the field to OPEN/CLOSED and I also want the label text on my form to change too when it's clicked.
