Sorting "dd-mm-yyyy" Dates From A Listbox Item With Other Information?

With this code provided by a contributor from this forum ive been able to sort listbox items acording to date from older date to newer date, heres the
Dim dates() As Date = Array.ConvertAll(ListBox2.Items.Cast(Of String).ToArray, Function(s) Date.ParseExact(s, "dd-MM-yyyy", Nothing))
Array.Sort(dates)

How could i use that code to work these out based on only partial checking, what i mean with this is, to sort only by the first date or, to sort by the second date, i rather have it sorted by the first date before the arrow because that is the alarm, the after the arrow date is just the event date information.

I would like to compare two dates in this format dd mmm yyyy, compare validators wont work because of the format and custom validator is server side validation. I would like to have a clinet side validation.

I am trying to create a textbox that only allows dates in like mm/dd/yyyy format. So if a user types in a date like 2010/11/02, an error would happen. But if they type it in this format 01/02/2010, then it works fine. Is this possible?

I'm using Visual Studio .Net 2008 on Vista. The goal of my program is to watch a directory, get file information, then sort them by thier date, and produce a updated text file. I can't seem to get my code to generate a list of files sorted by date. The code does produce a general list of files, however presently ordered in the directory. I also tried an alternate way of sorting the files by date by creating a string, removing the date using substring, then comparing the file dates using datetime.parse but it produces a exception error. I am using vb.net2010.
I am currently writing a bit of software for myself and need guidance.
I have a datagridview on a form with a date column. (column0)
I am trying to sort this by date desending but it will only sort by the day (dd) and not the whole date (dd/mm/yyyy) which leaves the months unsorted.

On one server now.date() gives date like '08/06/2012 00:00:00' and on other gives '6/8/2012 12:00:00 AM'.
I need the date like '08/06/2012 00:00:00'. I can not use now.date.tostring("dd/MM/yyyy") as it is at too many places.

I have two rich text box, and a button. I want it so that, if I click on the button, everything on first text box, would be on 2nd text box. BUT, if there's a similar line. It would only show one line, except it would have "x#" where # is the amount of times it's duplicated.

How someone would select an item from a list box and click a button and have that item go into another listbox with it's price? I seem to be stuck on this part.

I have a listbox populated with dates in the format of dd/mm/yyyy e.g. 12/03/1983, 06/07/1987 etc.. Could someone please post the code that I could use so that I could search the listbox to multi-select the dates that fall within a specific month (not year or day). So for example I might want to highlight all the dates that contain the month **/10/** (october). I'm really struggling with this.

I need to sort the items in a visual basic listbox numerically, that is, I have a collection of numbers I would like to be sorted increasingly.
I tried to simply use the listbox's Sorted property, but found that it treated the numbers as if they were strings, that is, it would look at the first digit, then the second, etc. to determine the order. That meant that 13 would show before 5, for example.
I thought of dumping all the numbers into an array, soring the array, and then pushing them back to the listbox, but, honestly, I don't know how to go about the sorting. I figured the array would be useless, since the listbox already acts as a pseudo array.
