In my application, I have created a text file. I want to print the text file the application just created. I have seen some code which uses command prompt and others which use notepad.exe.

I am new at VB and am working on a simple project. I am reading records in from an access db and when the user clicks on the 'create label' button, I need the record displayed to be added to the labels.txt file. When they click on the 'save & close' button, I want the file to be saved (with no dialogue box) and the app to be closed. I am struggling with getting the records into the text file and saving it. Because I use a .html file, the formatting would not the correct if I was to print it directly from my application (as far as I know). View 1 RepliesI am working on an applictation to scan windows files to check for missing files, i have a couple questions on how to do this.I would like to use the %systemroot%system32 that way that it doesn't matter what drive letter it is, i'm not sure how to do this because when i tried it, it told me the file i was looking for didn't exist (in this case C:windowssystem32 undll32.exe) which does exist. Is there some way to use the %systemroot%?
Also, i am trying to print the resaults to a rich text box such as if rundll32.exe is missing put in the box "rundll32.exe is missing". How do I allow it to write it in the box, I tried the print command, but it didn't work.

I was able to print the text that I want, but is it possible that it be printed in three lines? i mean on the first line, the text "Counter 17", and in the second line with a smaller font size, "Your number is" and on the third line with a bigger font size the "& iticket portion"?

Previous post pointed me to KB 811401 dated 11/13/2007, revision 5.5.Following stemp by step. step #1 in the second part says "click Build solution on the Build menu". But i don't have that option. i get Build RichTextBoxPrintCtrl or Rebuild.... or Clear.... I selected build. Is that right?

This prints only the text in rtbReceipt, but no images and no format.
in this program that Im making I need to print something that the user have saved in a textbox. And the problem is that the text wont auto adjust to fit the paper, it just keep running on the same line outside. Also i am using Crystal Reports for Report solution. my question is How do i created reports such a way that they can be printed in faster Ascii Format on any DotMatrix printer. The default true type fonts make printing very slower.
I tried to use "Draft 10 cpi" font which come to available me after i installed a correct driver for my Epson printer. which also helped me overcome this problem. however it wont be the scenario with all my clients i.e. they might have different printers having different Make with different drivers installed. i have tried to open such project on there PC but the printing wont come in Draft instead the fonts get expanded too much & the print wont come right.
can I get some additional assistance with this same approach? I went through this entire excerise as well and ran into the same issue as the gentleman (FthrJack) who started the discussion. That is, the .dll "RichTextBoxPrintCtrl.dll" does not get created and/or cannot be found, therefore, cannot include it as a tool.[URL] I'm using Visual Studio 2010 and am a neophyte VB programmer.

View 4 Repliesmy program involves printing a .txt file ive created with the same program. when i open the .txt file all the alignments ive set up work and look good but when i print the document the alignments are all off. im thinking it might be something with the formatting method ive used. im currently using something like this:

I am wanting to print a access database file by going up to my menu strip and clicking print. I don't want to preview the file or anything, I just want the code to simply pop up the default print dialog box and be able to hit print. Everything I have looked at seems to be very complex, is there not a easy way to just print this database file? Again I don't want to edit the output file at all with fonts, borders, etc.

The printing needs to be done at the printer. There is a multibox which allows the user to select the printer .
Currently, I can open the files and select the printer but I am really getting stuck at printing.
