I am making a sort Server. But now the problem is that I am going to make a textbox that can make commands like 'ipconfig' in Cmd, but not that command. Its for starting server stopping server and such.
I tried:

I'm running Visual Studio 2010, and i'm trying to use AT commands to send an SMS. My question is will it not work with windows 7 due the exclusion of hyperterminal in windows 7. (I was able to dowload a version of Hyperterminal and can use AT commands in that.. but my code itself does not work.) My code is below.

My project involves making a table database that displays student number, surname, first name, homeroom, and grade avg. Through SQL commands, there must be functions to add, update, delete, search by field, and save records to the database.I have already set the database up just fine and displayed it in a DataGridView. Through the DataGridView, I was able to go to the "Add Query" area, and I successfully made the queries necessary for searching by field. However, when I try to do anything other than a search using the query builder (ie start my SQL command with INSERT INTO or DELETE FROM), I ultimately get the message "Failed to get schema for this query"For example, this SQL code (to add an entry to the database) worked when I was in the Query Builder (and the entry that it made is still in the database), but when I finally tried to confirm it, I got the "Failed to get schema for this query" message.Being unable to add entries to the database this way, I tried to do it with textboxes on a form. Each textbox will have one of the fields, and at the click of a button, they would be put into the table. My code is below. I do not know what is wrong withit. When I run it, my fields do not appear on the DataGridView immediately, but I must run the program again to see it. The time after, the entry is gone. So I am not sure how exactly such entries are to be saved.

So, I made a program which connects with an access database. What I want to do is to make a custom sql commands instead of using the default "Fill" command that is generated when I insert for example a textbox which is connected with a column from my access database. So here is the command I wrote:
SELECT id, aa, code, credit_date, receipt, rewards, klm, subscriptions, place, various, notes
FROM credits
WHERE code = (CodeBox.Text)
Ok what I want to do and having trouble with, is having a textbox and the user who will use this program, to type a code in the textbox and make a search with this command above. What I can't understand is how to use the text of the textbox inside an sql command. I've not made the database connection with code, but as visual basic does it automatically, TableAdapter, DataSet, BindingSource and I can make a new command using the Query Builder with DataSet Designer!
I am working on a "de-bugging" back-end sorta thingy for my program, and I have a "dll" that executes most of the work for the program. For the ease of tech-support, I plan on trying to impliment a hidden back-door into the engine that is password protected and activated by a key-press. What I want to do is:when the enter key is pressed, have the dll run the sub that is listed in the enter key, for example:

I have been having trouble figuring out how to calculate a sum that the user inputs in to a textbox. On my form I have a textbox and a button. I would like the user to be able to input a sum like "3.5 + 2.87" and then click the button and the form calculates the answer for them. I need to be able to convert the string in to a sum somehow and then calculate it.

I tried to run this application with DB on another computer it's system is seven and MSA2007 and work very well. then I run it on pc it's system XP and MSA2003. it showed this error

I've been working on an auto talker, and so far, no errors. The only issue im having is to make textbox 3 to work with textbox 1 and textbox 2. I'm using Checkboxes, so You must check the ones you want. Like said, 1+3 and 2+3 doesn't work. It will only spam Textbox 1 OR textbox 2. Textbox 3 will not show up.

I'm getting a strange error in my VB FTP program. It works fine when I download a file from an FTP server, but the second time that I download the same file i get "503 Bad Sequence of Commands".If I download one file, download 3 other files, and then try to download the first file again, I get the error. If I close the program and open it again, the error is gone when I try to download the file.Is there some command that I need to send the server to unlock the file or something?

View 27 RepliesI was sent here by someone else that said someone here might.Below. is the message I get every time I reboot. I am not sure if it's a .NetFrame Work 1.0 or 1.1 error or not. It may be Visual Basic as I really don't know. Also, may be where I uninstalled some program or another the wrong way, by just deleting the folder instead of using the add and remove programs. I did have 1 program uninstall in-correctly by Revo Pro Uninstaller also about the time I started getting this error. But, I do know in the header error box it does say ".NetFrame Work" though... I just adding these suggestion as it might help you know what the problem might be. I have XP Home 2002 with Service Pack 3 installed. I have repaired the .Net FrameWork 2.0, 3.0 , 3.5 and 4.0. I couldn't repair the 1.0 or the 1.1 as I have deleted my temp folders that must have had something the installer needed in them. I tried to repair them with the "Installer" located in the "Installer" folder but it ask for some file in the temp directory that I did not have so I had to cancel the repair.

View 17 Repliesi am doing an internship for which i had to make a code in vb. i am using vb 2010 ultimate. the code is ready n bug free. it does what it is supposed to do on my system. how should i transfer it onto my mentor's system because he needs the code for day to day activities. his system has v1.something for .net framework. mine is v4.something.i have tried sending him exe file generated. didnt work due to the difference in versions of.net framework.then i read bout package and deployment wizard. vb 2010 ultimate doesnt have that wizard. i tried publishing it. gives me an error "WindowsApplication1 has stopped working." this is on my system and not my mentor's.
