The company served several towns and have billing and payments centers in selected towns. Every billing period, the meter readers would read the readings for every electric meters and then write the readings in the sheet. Every 5 pm, an employee from the centers would collect the sheets and then travel to the main center where the readings are encoded.

View 1 RepliesOverreaching amateur developer that is outsourcing some of my work and doing part of it as well. I've been working on a dictionary/ thesaurus / spell check & suggestion application that I am trying to get to work on all applications within the windows environment.
I've used hooking to get key stokes and show output as the person is typing for definitions and spelling suggestions. This isn't accomplishing everything I want. Works fine for spell checking and suggestions but to click on a word that already exists or for touch screen interfaces to touch a word it doesn't work.
I was reading the Raw Input API on MSDN and thought that would work but my developer that I've hired is advising me that the RAW input's scope is only on the window that has focus and so cannot do low level hooking. I'm considering giving the effort but wanted a 2nd third fourth perspective prior to making the effort.[URL]

View 2 RepliesI am been working on an a small app that has a Forms.Webbrowser control that navigates to a Adobe Flash program. I have developed the app on Vista 32bit platform and have had no problems. I have sent the app to a couple of people to test out and one is using Vista 64bit and is running into a problem. I know the webbrowser control just uses the underlying base framework of IE. The problem on the 64 bit machine is when the site is navigated to it says that it needs to have Flash installed. When the user goes to Adobe's site it says they need to use a 32bit browser.
As stated on Adobe site here:[URL] the Flash player need to be in a 32 bit browser. What options do I have to be able fix this problem? Is there another control that I can use that would be the same in a 32bit platform and 64bit platform? Besides navigating to the Flash program, the browser also goes to standard web pages.

Excuse me for posting this, but I have searched both Google along with this forum before asking this question, maybe I'm not using the right keywords but I apologize if it's easy to find.I would like to know how one could close a third-party window (application) if a specified string was found in the window title.
View 2 RepliesI have a VB.NET application that uses Managed DirectSound to capture audio.Everything works just fine until (a) the application is minimized or (b) the application is completey obstructed (covered) by another window.
The thing is that the CaptureBufferDescription structure does not include a GlobalFocus property so I don't know what to do to let my application continue capturing when the main window is hidden.
Here's the basic initialization code I'm using:

border of that said window so the only place the mouse can't click the titlebar and the minimize,restore, and maximize button. The height of the titlebar depends on what OS the user is using so I'm having trouble because I can't give a definite value for this. How do I detect the height. and also for border i'm not sure if the borders have different widths with different operating systems. I'm using windows XP on classic mode, when I change to the themed mode, the height of the title bar changes so it won't work.

Now
1) Is it the best way to do it, considering that I will inherit that control and need the same border on the inherited controls
2) Is it good to specify the default value for the BorderBrush (to be non-transparent), like I did?
3) Why my corners are moved with a pixel (not really right linked)?

I am working on an ASP.Net website and have a GridView displaying some data,in the OnRowDataBound event I am setting the border of the row for certain rows based on some criteria. This all worked fine when I was testing my pages locally, however when I put these pages within our master page (this is part of a company intranet site) the row borders disappear in IE yet display fine in firefox.
Is there anything that could be causing this? So far there is no CSS style applied that I know of as I set the border inside the event handler like so:
e.Row.BorderStyle = BorderStyle.Solid
e.Row.BackColor = Color.FromName("#fed69c")
e.Row.BorderColor = Color.FromName("Red")
