a. Level 1 - $10.00
b. Level 2 - $12.00
c. Level 3 - $14.00
d. Level 4 - $16.00
e. Benefit Deduction Rate - 0.10
f. Overtime Factor - 1.5
For ease of program maintenance, all of the above rates and factors must be stored in module level constants. All references to pay rates in the program must refer to the module level constants.
When the Calculate button is clicked:
a. The value in the Hours text box must be validated to insure that it is numeric value greater than zero.
1. If the value is not valid, a message box must appear as shown below and the user must be offered the option to continue processing or quit the program.
2. If the user chooses to continue processing, the focus must be set to the Hours text box.
3. If the user chooses to quit, the program must close immediately.
b. If the value is valid, the program must calculate and display the total pay in the Total Pay label.
1. The pay rate is determined by which Job Grade radio button is checked.
2. For hours less than or equal to 40, the total pay is the hours times the pay rate.
3. For hours greater than 40, the total pay is 40 hours times the pay rate plus the hours in excess of 40 hours times the pay rate times the Overtime Factor.
4. If the Full Time radio button is selected, the total pay must be reduced by the Benefit Deduction Rate.
5. The value displayed in the Total Pay label must be formatted with a dollar sign and with two decimal
places.
6. The focus must be set to the Hours text box.

Oct 28, 2008I am working with VB 2008. I want to be able to run this program say in N: and it will show me in an excel sheet the following:
Folder Path Size(GB) Count of Files
N:Clients 0.53 308
where clients contains subfolders and files and the size is the total of all those files within each folder and the count is the total within each folder also.
This works fine as it is but i have to select one by one the top level folders and some of them are huge so it takes forever to give me an answer.
1) I would like to see in my spreadsheet the following by only select the network drive n:
Folder Path Size(GB) Count of Files
N:Clients 0.53 308
N:Software 10.7 15430
N:Billing 0.98 105
2) I would also like to know if this is the faster method.
3) I tried adding a progress bar so that the user can have an idea of how much this will take but i had to remove because it was not working.
4) I would like to see the folder name, size of folder and count of files in the listview.

I'm in process of making a order calculator which will total any values you selected in combo boxes/checkboxes and then display it in a selected area. There are 3 things that I want to achieve: 1. Be able to add another total to an existing total (currently I'm able to see only one total when I hit "Calculate" button)2. Display how many orders I have made so far (new total counts as one order)3. Be able to add up checkboxes selected to an overall total. May 3, 2010I am using 2008 Express Edition. I am trying to make a Release build instead of a Debug build.Under Tools->Options, Projects and Solutions->General - I checked Show advanced build configurations. The option to switch configurations does not show up in the IDE.
After this, I went to the Project Properties->Compile and switched the Configuration from Active(Debug) to Release.After building, I looked in my project directory, however only in the Debug sub-directory was the .exe and nothing in the Release sub-directory.I have used Visual C++ Express Edition, where I noticed that if you do not change to Release in the IDE than after changing to Release in properties, resets the project to the last configuration setting which is usually Debug.how to make the Debug/Release box available in the IDE, since Tools/Options does not make it show up?

Aug 4, 2010I have some very simple questions about making a release build exe in vb.net using MS VB 2010 Express.
I realize that my project's executable is built in the bin/debug folder. However, when I copy this to any other location on my computer or someone else's, this executable does not function. I have read that I need to create a release build but in MS VB 2010 Express, when I use the Project-Properties menu and change the Compile tab configuration to Release and the path to binRelease, I still get the exe in the binDebug folder and not the binRelease folder.
1) Is it normal that exe's from the debug folder do not function outside of the debug folder?
2) Most importantly, if the release build produces a faster exe, could someone please explain step by step how to do this with MS VB 2010 Express ? I do not see any button on the compile tab in the project properties that actually builds the release.

Feb 3, 2012I am developing a small application with VB 2008 and MS SQL 2005. For reporting using RDLC reports. Everything is going well except page wise total.I need page wise total on each page and each(all) page wise total should be displayed on last page. I need the report output like this.

Note : No. of rows/page are not fixed.For group Total I have used Sum function of rdlc table with scope table_Group2 & for Grand total I have used Sum function of rdlc in table footer with dataset scope.For page wise total I have used textbox in Report footer (=Sum(ReportItems!amt.Value). I was wondering, is it possible to rename those few resources images , ex. image1 name is bg, and when i click a button to rename that image to bg2 and rename bg2 to bg.. something similar to an image swap, just done by renaming resources. I will wait for a few suggestion, but if all lead to the same possibility, which I hope is not "no, you can not", than my time is narrowed down for better use, other than changing each control's image manually..

Jan 10, 2012Building a MP3 player fairly large but will upload the zip file if needed. It almost compelted. I am stuck on one thing I want to be able to create a playlist collection based on the name the user enters into a textbox and name the collection with that name if the user enters mysongs as the name the collection would be named mysongs. I know how do declare a new collection but there is no way to change the name to mysongs I am not limited to collections it could be an array or a list of strings my thought here is to save the list of mysongs to a collection to find the list if it already exists and open the list if found to a listbox I know how to go through the list and put results in a listbox. Maybe a collection of collections is not the right way to handle this?

so, depending on the starting name, i want to rename the string.
If the string is d1_filename, the renamed string would be d2_filename.
or also: if the string is d23_filename, the renamed will be d24_filename an so on.
