Transfer Data From A View In Db To Header And Line Tables Via Code?
Jan 27, 2009I do no know how to go about doing this. I have a view in the db. I have gatheredall the data in that view. Now when clicks a button, i want to transfer half column data in the view to header_table and the other half into the lines_table. Also once it is transgered, I want to display it in a grid view. This time all the fields from header_table and all from lines_lines. Can someone guide me how will I do that by an example of code that is not very complecated and does what I want to do?

Jul 1, 2010I'm trying to fill a ListView control in a VB2005 project. It works fine from underpinning (Access) database IF all the data is present. However, if a field is blank (in this case - a field called "Actual Date" which is meant to be blank for this record), the ListView will stop populating at that point.I thought this may have been the 'CausesValidation' property of the ListView but that doesn't seem to change the behaviour.Is this an inherent feature of the ListView - if so it seems daft - or is there a property I need to change or an override that I need to code?

I have set up the relevant headings etc on the list view control...but I have also set up a 5th column as I want to have that representing the percentage change between columns 3 and 4 (which are numeric).

Jun 30, 2010I'm using this code to search a msacces db and display the data in a listview.The Search is fired after the text_changed event of a textbox. So each character is a search and also each backspace(here's where the real pain is) it will search. When I use backspace its very very slow! When I use 100 or even a 1000 records no problem but this db has 10.000 + records.Whitch event can I use to solve this problem or how can I adjust the code for faster search? ALs o when I test on a windows7 system, dualcore, 2gb memory, when I press a key it will take time before I see the character in the textboxs? Its a new system and only runs this program.I use a texbox to enter for example an artist name and a combobox where the user can choose to search on artis, title, genre etc. [code]

Jul 18, 2011I have the following "contact" data (exampled below) stored in an xml file.I've created a frmContacts windows form and placed a list box control inside it.I'm new to the list box but plan to have the users manage the list by letting them add, delete, and pick from it. For searching there should also be a sort function/button (by last name then first name).If the user deletes from the list the corresponding data in the file will be deleted.If the user picks from or adds to the list, I'd like to find the best way to populate the corresponding data elements on another form (i.e., in their respective text boxes). This will include the ability to edit/save from this other form too.

Apr 13, 2010I am adding a web interface (ASPX.NET: VB) to a data acquisition system developed with LabVIEW which outputs raw data files. These raw data files are the binary representation of a LabVIEW cluster (essentially a structure).LabVIEW provides functions to instantiate a class or structure or call a method defined in a .NET DLL file.I plan to create a DLL file containing a structure definition and a class with methods to transfer the structure.When the webpage requests data, it would call a LabVIEW executable with a filename parameter. The LabVIEW code would instantiate the structure,populate the structure from the data file, then call the method to transfer the data back to the website.
How do you recommend I transfer (copy) an instance of a structure from one .NET program to the VB.NET program that executed it?
