I'm working on a drag-and-drop method to copy items from a listview control to a treeview. I've got the drag and drop working, but I'm hoping to limit the ability to drag items that create a child of a child. Ideally, if someone drags an item from the listview to the Treeview and the drop the listview item over a child, it would drop the dragged item to the parent.
i need to check all child node when the parent node is checked and i had do research from the internet but it seem that i had a error which is Type 'MSComctlLib.Node' is not defined.do i need to import any reference? [code]
I have a TreeView populated with some nodes, and some of those nodes have children. Is it possible that when the node, or child is selected that the entire node including the children be selected? I still want to deal only with the value of the root node, but for the UI I want the root + children to be selected.
i have a treeview which has a bunch of parent and child nodes preset at design time, there is 1 parent node tho which is called developer, that i want to add child nodes to at runtime. When the form first loads im trying to have it check a text file and for each line in the text file add the text/string from that as a child node tot he 'developer' parent node.
vb Dim reader As String = My.Computer.FileSystem.ReadAllText(Application.StartupPath() & "ConfigDevs.txt") Dim strs() As String = Split(reader, Environment.NewLine) For Each s As String In strs
[code]....
Thats what i have so far, how can i set it so 'Dim parentNode As TreeNode = ' points at the 'Developer' node?
How can i programmatically create a treeview consisting of several nodes and each node has several children.I want to read the nodes and children from a table and fill them accordingly, so how can i do this?
I used both parent node and child nodes in a Tree View in visual basic 2010. Now I want user could delete a parent node if selected it or any of her childs nodes and user cant be able to delete a child nodes. How can I do this?
When I select a node from treeview, it correctly shows the child form. However, when I close the child form and select the same node from the parent form, nothing happens.
Private Sub TreeView2_AfterSelect(sender As System.Object, e As System.Windows.Forms.TreeViewEventArgs) Handles TreeView2.AfterSelect Dim intNode As Int16 = 0 'set fore color to black Do While intNode < 10 [Code] .....
A form has a multi line textbox that is read line by line searching for "MSH". When found it adds that line as a parent to the treeview. each following line is added as a child. Works fine if only one "MSH" line but if more than 1 I get must clone or remove message. I did clone the message but I don't want a duplicate of what is there. I have tried several variations and have not been able to get the 2nd MSH to be added as a child but not parent.I have started to repeate code so was hoping some of you experts can point me in the correct direction. Here the section of code that partialy works.
Dim LoopK As Integer = 0 Dim New_MSH_Parent As String = "No" Dim MSH_Node As New TreeNode() ' parent node
What node property tells you if the node in question in a TreeView is the Root Node (i.e. highest parent level)? I want to be able to test a node (True/False) in a node event procedure.
I am quite new to VB so I have a tree view and I want to know how to make it when i click a node inside a parent node it opens a URL. And on top off that I want to be able to make the nodes you click on and URL's they open while the application is open. I want it so that I made Node0 in a options form and when I click it it will open a URL witch I also set on a options form.
I'm trying to open a file via a treeview. The nodes resemble the files and folders within a (parent)folder. I also have a textbox which has the location, including the name of the (parent)folder.
msgbox(e.node.fullpath.tostring)
This code gives me the path including the parent-node How do I get the path without the parent?
I have TreeView Populating from Database And I am Trying to detect the user action on treeview to make some decision that whether user has clicked on Parent node or Child node or child of a child node. Please any one help me to do this that how can i detect the user action on treeview
I have a treeview with nodes being represented as checkbox.
All works fine i.e when a parent nod is checked, its child and sub child should be checked as well but it won't check only the first subchilds and i am not able to find the solution, i have debugged it many time, but still not able to figure the solution.
I tried finding the solution on the web, but didn't got the proper solution. Below is the code which i am using in my form.
Private Sub trvModule_AfterCheck(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.TreeViewEventArgs) Handles trvModule.AfterCheck, trvReports.AfterCheck, trvMasterAccess.AfterCheck
I'm in need of a custom control that will allow me to do something like the attached image. It's basically a TreeView with the exception of having a row of PictureBoxes for each child node. I'd be happy with a ListView that could do this even. I tried it briefly with a DataGridView with ImageColumns but the "look" wasn't quite what I was after. I'd like the "Parent Node" text to be situated above the row of images and just can't seem to find a control that will allow this.
I was wondering how I would go about placing a check in the checkboxes for each child node of a parent node in a TreeView control, if I was to check the parent node.
For example: Parent 1Child 1 Child 2 Child 3
If I was to check "Parent 1" how would I be able to make that event place a checkbox beside all of the child nodes of "Parent 1"? (Child1, 2, and 3.)
I need to modify a xml file (actually a .rdlc report file) and add some nodes which have a lot of children nodes (and those children nodes again have children nodes). Actually they are almost the same strucutre, like this one:
and it will add my specified NS. (like I said, XElement.Parse(string) won't add it) So now I can construct the correct node. For my second problem I still can't figure out: I can't navigate to the target node by using the element name since it won't search for correct NS.
I have four children in a parent container. Each child form is a test for the user to type correct answers into text boxes. Option to open each form is on a menu strip in the parent. In form load, I have disabled all but the first form option. I only want the second form to become available if the first form answers are correct. I would like to figure this out on my own as much as possible. I have searched on line but since I am not sure what to ask, I have not found and answer. Can someone get me started in the right direction? Perhaps some reading that would explain how to go about this, or what I should be typing into google to get what I'm looking for.
I have a TreeView with a parent node and two children node. Each of the nodes contain a checkbox stored in a TreeViewItem. I want the two children node checkboxes to be set to IsChecked=true when the user checks the parent node and I want the two children node checkboxes to be IsChecked=false when the user unchecks the parent node.
How do you set it up so that a treeview control will select/deselect all children of a parent when it is selected/deselected? Is there a property you set or do you have to write code to do it?
Im new to treeviews so I hope this is not posting a problem that has been covered. I want all the children of a checked parent to also be checked. I have found various snippets that can achieve this but only for one or two levels. When I expand further than 2 levels the children are not checkeds. What am I missing? I have managed to find this piece of code that I am using in both the "AfterExpand" and the "AfterChecked" events to achieve the result. There must be a better way.
So I have a TreeView and it has about 7 parent nodes that have 3-5 children each. All of these children nodes when click navigate to a URL. What I would like to do is have one parent node auto-expand based on the URL and the other parent nodes to collapse.
I'm trying to msgbox all the children nodes that exist in a treeview, however i was not able so far to msgbox except the first nodes in the first level of bracnching in the treeview, i want to go more in depth & msgbox all the children nodes.
Dim child As TreeNode For Each child In TreeGraph.Nodes("A").Nodes MsgBox(child.Text) Next child
I have a the following Class structure. Company > List(of Departments) > List(of Employees) I want to Query a Company to find out if it has a department of the following name and a Employee in that department with the following ID! How could I query this. The way I have the code it expect to return one department so I have it doing
Basically, I am trying to write a LINQ to Objects statement where the relationship is a grandparent, parent, child relationship. (You could also call it a Master Detail relationship.)
In Legacy code here is a simplified version what I am trying to accomplish. Dim coverages As New List(Of Coverage) Dim coverage As Coverage For Each rl In oClaimsPolicy.RiskLocations coverage = New Coverage coverage.Level = "Location" [Code] .....
If is it not clear one Location can have many Items and one Item can have many Coverages. I basically want to list the items and show the relationship between grandparent (Location), parent (Item) and child (Coverage).
