Getting Error While Opening Connection
Mar 2, 2010I'm developing vb.net application with mysql as database. The database is on other machine in the network. In one function connection opens and executes query successfully. The same function makes call to other function.This second function tries ot do same thing. But this time while opening connection it gives error-"Access denied for user 'root1'@'AZAR' (using password: NO)". Here 'AZAR' is the name of my machine. The first function uses public variable declared in module for connection, whereas second function uses local variable for connection. I'm using PhpMyAdmin tool.

Mar 23, 2011I would really welcome some help with this issue. We have a php code that works and connects to the LDAP. When I try to connect using VB.NET 2010, it fails to bind with logon failure unknown username or bad password. Below is the connection information. When I talk to the folks who run the ldap server, they say I am binding sucessfully, below is the log file for the sucessful bind? If I continue and try to execute a search I don't get any results. The server is running openLDAP ver 2.3.39 on a linux server, server requires connection on port 636 for secure connection, or 389 for anonymous.

Changing Unknown Number Of Label Captions Using Unknown Length Array
Oct 22, 2009Using Access 2003 and VB code, I have created a form with a number of labels. The labels will display an employee's names. I have named the labels name1, name2, name3...etc. Using an ADO data set and DCount I have determined the number of names in an Access table (the number of names can vary). What I want to do is for each record in succession to pick the first name and surname from the data set , combine them into a full name (this part has been successful), and then set the full name into the label caption in succession. Example: full name 1 into name1, full name 2 into name2, full name 3 into name3... until all names appear as labels on the form.
I created a counter to and a variable to increment the label number but when I address the caption property of the variable containing the new label (e.g. name1, name2..etc.) it throws an errer at runtime. Here is the code:

Jan 27, 2012I am very new to SQL and do not understand as much about the language as I had hoped I would after a couple months of looking at it. I am creating a procedure database for work where we store word documents of procedures in a folder and use that to populate our database. I've been getting connection errors because I didn't realize I was trying to use the server.CreateObject command with an Apache DB and then using the connection string with an SQL Server DB. I am using SQL Server 2008 and I just ahd no idea why it wasn't connecting because I had been googling most errors.

It will continue reading data and once the data is found, it will pass me the data to a function let's say functionnd I call a delegate functionB from this functionA.And at some point this functionB throw me an error of "Collection was modified; enumeration operation might not execute.".Does anyone know what this mean?I google it and found that this error was caused by "For Each or For" loop.But in my program I don't have any for loop.

Unknown Error Causing End Result To Be Incorrect
Mar 15, 2012I've been programming a game recently and didn't want to make 99 weapons manually. I've tried making a loop do this for me. I've got the loop working, everything is perfect. But when I run the program and list all the Weapon(x).Name [x being any value between 0 & 99] they are all identical... HOWEVER. If I single step through the code it lists all the names from 0 to 99 perfectly fine. Why is it that single stepping through it produces what I want?

Looking at that query its easy to spot whats causing the error. Simply, the most inner query only returns 2 columns, while the query right above it is trying to SELECT 3, thus the Unknown Column Error. So why is this happening? What is wrong with my LINQ query?

Sql Connection Error - Re-establish Connection To The Server
May 14, 2010This will happen at random, and I can always just catch the error and re-establish connection to the server, but I am confused as to why. When doing lots of inserting into the sql server, I only establish one connection that is public, instead of many little connections. I had my doubts on a public sql connection, but it's been running great, and I've seen no problems until this morning. Again, this random moment I hit an error that stated, sql connection state is broken. Is it bad practice to just accept this error, and when it happens, re-establish the connection?

But, when I changed the mbd to accdb:

May 19, 2012I am creating a simple email application which sends mail from a user's Gmail account, as I haven't worked out how to receive incoming mail yet.I have created a form (frmSignIn) which asks for the log-in info and another (frmComposeMessage) which has all text boxes necessary for composing an email (to, subject, message body).After clicking Sign In on the first form, it should hide it and open the second form, however I get this error:
