How Does One Add A Query To An Access 2007 Database
Jun 22, 2010I have an application that uses an *.accdb file as the back-end database. Connecting to and retrieving data from the access file is not an issue and is working quite well. However, as a precaution, I have the application first check to make sure the database file exists in the application's folder while it loads up. As a convenience, if the database file is not found, then the application creates a new (structured, yet empty) database. The creation of the actual *.accdb file and the creation of the tables is complete and is also working well.

Jun 16, 2010Whilst writing a routine in Access I founf it rather fiddly for user...was thinking it would be much better for them to click a button in VB.net and that would do all the hard work.
So is it possible to do these task against a Acecss 2007 database
-Delete table
-Compact database (to clear out table)
-then run query to remake table

May 7, 2009Attempting to execute an update command against an Excel 2007 file gives the error:
Operation must use an updateable query. I'm using System.Data.OleDb with a connection string like this:

I have tried setting ReadOnly=false but that gives Could not find installable ISAM. I have also tried setting Mode=ReadWrite and IMEX=1 which didn't seem to have any effect. My update command is like this:

Office 2007/2003 VSTO Shared Add-In Design Query
Apr 29, 2009I am designing a shared add-in using VB.Net 2008 and VSTO that has to fire up when any MS Office App is started. It has to work for both 2002, 2003 and 2007 applications. I have managed to put together a working add-in that pops up a test message stating the version of Office and the Application name and tested this across all the apps ok.
The next part of the solution is to code the application specific code that needs to run for document auditing and corporate protective marking as well as, for example; in Excel checking that all the Add-Ins are linked to the Network Add-Ins folder.
My approach from now was going to be to late bind against the application object and set one of my typed (e.g. Excel) application object references which exist in the code to this object.

If the user is an administrator they will be able to add a new student, update delete etc. I managed to implement INSERT/DELETE/UPDATE functions and also a search button and they all appear to be working fine.

May 8, 2012I am working on code in Visual Basic 2010 that will read from an Access 2007 data table. If the row has one of the fields marked as processed then do nothing with it, but it not, then process the data in that record, and update the field as processed, and move on to the next one marked as needing processing, looping through all of them. Later I'll go back and repeat this again.
I am able to read from the database and get all the information from it just fine, but I can't then update the 'processed' field. I'd rather like to avoid having the database integrated with the project as other processes will need to access it when this process (program) is not working on it.

I wrote my code using queries that I created in visual studio. I don't quite remember how to create an update query and write the code to update different datagrids. I tried searching the forums, and I can't find anything that fits into the way I wrote my code. I have an update button that I want to use to save all the edited data in the form. When I add a value (a identifier from a table) in my first column, then I need the query to retrive the rest of the values in the table recordset. When I try to run a query, all i get is a query that updates my whole datagridview, and not only one row, with this code in the CellValueChanged module of the datagridview:
