I'm doing a little app that basically has 2 text boxes. You'll enter Fahrenheit into TextBoxA and Celsius into TextBoxB.As the text changes in TextBoxA I want the equivalent Celsius value to be displayed in TextBoxB and vice versa.Is there a way to do it all in Xaml except for a Convert class that does the maths? So basically I want the TextChanged event of one textBox to pass in it's value into a Converter class that is evaluated and sent to the other TextBox and visa versa.
View 2 RepliesI am new with Visual Basic and I am creating a aspx temperature converter application in Visual Studio 2010 where the user is able to input numbers into a textbox, choose what type temperature it is through a dropdown listbox, and choose what temperature to convert it to from a radio button list. The problem I am having is that I am getting an error when I try convertingrr something. I get the error "Input string was not in a correct format" and "Conversion from string "F" to type 'Boolean' is not valid." I've tried doing nested if..elseif..endif statements, but when I do that it just converts the 1st if statement and nothing else. Here is the code I have written for the conversion.

I've pretty much have this assignment done. My main problem is to get the math to pan out and it's making me crazy. It's gotten to the point of staring blankly at my screen for the last 4 hours.I'm hoping that someone would be willing to take a quick peak and give me a shove in the right direction. How can I add a loop to this sequence to make the program give a total of the figures in the domestic and international columns when the word "ALL" is typed into the month textbox,instead of a number. The domestic total should go into the domestic textbox, the international total should go into the international textbox and the total of the domestic and international should go into the companytotal textbox.

View 1 RepliesI'm trying to do something that is turning out to be out of my league at the moment. I need to draw geometric figures. These geometric figures have all the coordinates of their corners. Say I have a trapezoid, and I would want to draw it. The drawing would be done in a picturebox or a panel or a groupbox (some part of the form where only the geometric figure will be).
I saw the method on how to do that Here and that's exactly what I'm trying to achieve, but there it's drawn on a newly created form, and I need it in a picbox, panel or groupbox as I mentioned above. I also need the drawn figure to be at the center of the picbox/panel/groupbox.
The coordinates of the lines should be like (xa.text,ya.text) to (xa.text - xb.text, ya.text + yb.text) if I'm not wrong for the first line of the geometric figure and so on.
I am trying to input a text file of figures into a 2-dimensional array. I want to do this so I will then perform percent changes on the respective columns. The text file contains columns and then numerous rows for each columns each number is separated with a tab. The text file looks something like this.

3.7 6.3

So I need to be able to input the text file, turn it into an array and then find the total percent change. From 2.2-3.7-9.2
I'm currently trying to write a really simple game on which the player has to pursuit some figures on the screen. Since i'm just writing the prototype version i'm using a Panel wich i redraw 1000 times per second. Now, i want that every level is similar but not the same as past level, so i created a Level Class that contains the game objetcs of Player Class and the Figure Class, wich are the ones that have all the movement subrutines. So, with a Timer, 1000 times per second, i get the input from a joystick, pass it to the player objetc and update the position of the figure object. All this stuff is reported to an internal Panel that every level object has, wich i refresh and then pass it ByVal to the panel that the player actually sees. The problem i have is that after the first level ends, when the second level starts running, i can see the last frame of the fisrt level flashing behind the figures and it makes the game run a bit slower after every level. I tried keeping a copy of the inicial state of exterior panel and use it to clean the one i'm using on the levels but it didn't work...
View 11 RepliesHere's my situation: I'm tryring to build a very simpe minigame in which the player has to pursuit and catch certain figures on the screen. This figures are currently showed as images on PictureBox wich i pass ByRef to some classes where the movement subrutines are. I have all the graphics in PNG, with transparent background, format and they look fine on the background, but when 2 or more of this figures are over the same place on the screen every PictureBox covers the underlying figure, so all i can see is one figure over the background.I was wondering if theres a way to solve this... Maybe using more powerfull libraries or something like that.

On a form I can delete an employee, add a new one or modify existing one. When I click save new values are sent to the server. On a server I check if the user exists. If exists then I modify its values, if it does not exist then I add it. All employees that exist on the server and were not sent are marked as deleted (State changed to EntityState.Deleted). I try to use the following code (dbCollection = database entities, newCollection = collection sent from the form):

This code does not work, because changing to EntityState.Deleted removes the object from collection, and for each loop breaks, since the collection is modified...I know that I can overcome this problem by using a for loop or adding objects to delete to some other list first, but I hope maybe there is a pattern that would make my code nicer.

im wish to get the cpu temperature and cpu fan using wmi.. in my bios, i can read my fan speed and cpu temperature.. i tried to use wmi to get the data but it doesnt function..for the wmi, i downloaded the wmi creator from microsoft website.. n it work perfectly to find other information like bios infomtion. however, it is not working with cpu temperature and fan speed..from internet, i found a program called SPEEDFAN and this program can list out all the computer temperature... do anyone know how this program function? i wish to get the information of temperature using vb.net.

View 7 RepliesI'm trying to get hard drive temperature data.I can get the temperature via MSStoragedriver_ATAPISmartData.And, I can get all sorts of drive info (model, serial #, etc. via the Win32PhysicalMediaClass.The trouble is trying to link the two together.I get this temperature info, but I don't know which drive it is.The only identifier I can get from MSStoragedriver_ATAPISmartData is InstanceName.That looks like it has the model number embedded in it, but I can't get model number in Win32 my question is how can I get the temperature data and realte it to a specific drive?
