C# - WPF Binding: Doing A Temperature Converter App?

Jan 6, 2011

I'm doing a little app that basically has 2 text boxes. You'll enter Fahrenheit into TextBoxA and Celsius into TextBoxB.As the text changes in TextBoxA I want the equivalent Celsius value to be displayed in TextBoxB and vice versa. Is there a way to do it all in Xaml except for a Convert class that does the maths? So basically I want the TextChanged event of one textBox to pass in it's value into a Converter class that is evaluated and sent to the other TextBox and visa versa.

Asp.net - Visual Basic Temperature Converter

Aug 25, 2011

I am new with Visual Basic and I am creating a aspx temperature converter application in Visual Studio 2010 where the user is able to input numbers into a textbox, choose what type temperature it is through a dropdown listbox, and choose what temperature to convert it to from a radio button list. The problem I am having is that I am getting an error when I try convertingrr something. I get the error "Input string was not in a correct format" and "Conversion from string "F" to type 'Boolean' is not valid." I've tried doing nested if..elseif..endif statements, but when I do that it just converts the 1st if statement and nothing else. Here is the code I have written for the conversion.

Math Equation For Temperature Converter Buttons?

May 4, 2010

I've pretty much have this assignment done. My main problem is to get the math to pan out and it's making me crazy. It's gotten to the point of staring blankly at my screen for the last 4 hours.I'm hoping that someone would be willing to take a quick peak and give me a shove in the right direction. The purpose is to type in a number in a textbox then choose using a fahrenheit radio button and a celsius button to calculate the corresponding conversion in a label box.

How To Add Values Entered Into TextBox1 And Display Total Sum Into TextBox2

Sep 16, 2011

How can I get the sum all the values a user enters into TextBox1 to display that sum into TextBox2.The user is going to enter one value one by one. The user enters '1' into TextBox1, therefore, TextBox2 should display '1'.If the user than enters '2' into TextBox1, TextBox2 should display '3'.If the user enters '2' into TextBox1, TextBox2 should display '5'.And so on.TextBox2 should only display one value at a time, not one after another.I am using double because I need decimal places.I have a ListBox1 where it displays all the values entered by the user in rows one by one, but I prefer not to use the ListBox1 to get the sum of all the values entered in TextBox1 and to have TextBox2 show that sum. Because in that ListBox1, I have few other things in there, like Strings, which will not allow the sum of all the values entered in TextBox1 to be calculated and displayed in TextBox2.Not sure if this matters or not, but I thought it might. So only need TextBox2 to have all the values entered in TextBox1.If 1 was entered in TextBox1, TextBox2 shows 1.Then 2 is entered in TextBox1, TextBox2 will show 3.

Make A Temperature Gauge Using Scroll Bar?

Mar 21, 2010

i want to make a temperature gauge using scroll bar (refer to Attachments) it has label to show the text of current temperature and if you are noticed the are also two labels in blue and red which indicates coolness or hotness.the problem is when the temperature reached certain point for example 50 Celsius, the color label is not working.i mean initially i set red label, visible = true thus make blue label visible and it indicates the temperature is still cool but when scroll it to 50 Celsius, the red label is not shown up and blue label is still there.also not working when i decrease the temperature less than 50 Celsius.

here is the coding

Public Class Form1

Private Sub vsbCount_Change(ByVal newScrollValue As Integer)

How To Make Temperature (Celsius) Conversion Program

May 2, 2010

I'm new to visual basic and have decided to make a temperature conversion program. I've attached a screenshot to aid in my description. The program reads the temperatures on the left(from text boxes), converts them, and displays the answers on the right in text boxes. The program has a fever check at the bottom which displays whether or not the converted values are a fever.

I've managed to get this to work no problem, but I'm trying to get it so if the user enters the temperatures directly into the "result" textboxes, that the fever check still works. Unfortunately I'm having no luck, the fever check will only display a message if the values have been converted, not directly entered by the user. Here is the code I tried(fever.Text is what is displayed in a textbox above the fever check button):

Private Sub FeverCheck_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles FeverCheck.Click
'Turn string values entered into Decimal Values so they can be compared to decimal values
Dim fahrfever As Decimal
Dim Celsfever As Decimal
'The following two lines have problems when debugging
