.Net And PHP Rijndael Encryption Not Matching?
Sep 12, 2011At first i thought it was the padding since mcrypt uses zero padding but i changed the php to use PKCS7 and get the same exact results.I think it has something to do with the padding in the php.Test output from .Net:

Sep 13, 2011Im using Rijndael (as AES algorithm) for encrypting. I encrypt the values (objects properties) and serialize the object to xml an dsend the xml to the receiver via a web service. I want to pass along the encrypted symmetric key that I used to encrypt the data. But what key should I pass along?
My decryption algorithm looks like this (vb.net):

If I want to decrypt the encrypted string I have to use both key and IV, but I think I have to pass along only a key value. Do I have to do this another way or what should I pass along? My specification says that the values have to be encrypted using AES and a 128 bits key.
VS 2005 ReEncrypt File In Memory Using Rijndael?
Oct 15, 2009I have spent quite a while trying to solve this problem.I would like to be able to decrypt a file using an old password, then encrypt the file with a new password in memory. I could easily write the unencrypted file to disk then encrypt the file with a new password, BUT I was trying to keep the unencrypted file from being written to disk. Could someone point me in the right direction?

Oct 1, 2011I use the following Rijndael code to do encryption without fail for many times. But why it can not encrypt an ISO file with 4.2 GB? In fact my computer has 16GB memory and it should not be a memory problem. I use Windows 7 Ultimate. The code is compiled as winform (.Net 4) using Visual Studio 2010 (a VB.NET project).
I have checked that the ISO file is OK and can be mounted as virtual drive and even can be burnt to DVD rom. So it is not the ISO file problem.My question: Why the following code cannot encrypt an ISO file with size of 4.2GB? Is that caused by the limitation of Windows/.NET 4 implementation?

Dec 2, 2010What makes it even harder is that I can't replicate this problem on my computer very consistently. Sometimes I will get the error but most of the time I won't. Basically what is happening is I am creating an IE object which my program then controls for a long period of time. What is happening is, if a user exits the program it calls oIE.Quit() then closes the program. This should close internet explorer and all processes associated with it.
But, the iexplorer process doesn't end up closing. Then when the user tries to run the program again we get this error "System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80004005): Creating an instance of the COM component with CLSID {0002DF01-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} from the IClassFactory failed due to the following error: 80004005.".
To fix this we simply close the any iexplorer.exe processes that are open and it will let us create our i.e. object again. This happens also if the program crashes and they try to restart it. I am not sure what is causing this or if I am missing something that has to do with com objects. Here is some code although plugging in this code likely won't reproduce any errors:

I found some examples that show tracking a certain color, but that wont work because the qr codes have different colors. some are red, blue, purple, black, and green. I am using the touchless sdk to capture the video. How would I go about tracking the person's hand holding a 1"x1" cube? Jul 10, 2010I am somewhat new to object oriented programming and am attempting to flatten a Linq object hierarchy by using a shim class.how to initalize a derived class with property values from a base class?I have two objects, a base object with about 100 properties, and a derived object which inherits from the base object and adds a few additional properties beyond those of the base object. My simple constructor creates the derived object, but I am looking for a way to initialize the derived object properties with values from the base object.Right now I am using reflection to iterate over the properties individually and I suspect there may be a better way. The following example shows my shim class constructor for the derived class, and two properties:
newProperty1 - a new string property of the derived class
flattenedProperty2 - a new string property of the derived class, copied from a 2nd-level object of the base class
