Sep 22, 2011im having some problems, when i do my query from my vb.net program to my mysql DB the data is sent, but its missing some things, let me explain.my query is pretty simple im sending a file path to my DB so that after i can have a php website get the data and make a link with the data from my DB, but when i send my data the results look like this.[code]but next time its going to be something else so i cant hard code the paths, i was looking more of a sql query switch that i might not know, since i already thaught about searching my string and if it finds a backslash it adds another one, but i feel its not a good way to script the whole thing..

The variables in the brackets [example] do not actually have brackets in them in the original code. These are where the issues are. For both variables, it says, "The type for variable [variable] will not be inferred because it is bound to a field in an enclosing scope. Either change the name of [variable], or use the fully qualified name (for example, 'Me.[variable]' or 'MyBase.[variable]')." Now, I'm not entirely sure if this is a stupid question or not, as I'm used to VB '98 because that's what we use in my programming class at High School. let me know why this won't work.
-Note: The intention of this program is to continually loop the generation of numbers for this list until I tell it to stop. Button1 ends the program, Button2 generates the list one time only, Button3 is supposed to loop the generation of the list, and Button4 is supposed to end the loop, but not the program.

Sep 3, 2009I have simple ASP.net web form. With a simple click on a button i need to call a the Multithread process in order to execute my querry in SQL Server DB. I know that my querry willl take up to 45 min to be executed. While the process is running i need to display some status information like: Starting time, Time elapsed, % of completed...So after running the process i got the following error message: "Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding."So i have 2 problems to fix:
Avoid getting timeout while processing/calling the stored procedure. I tried to add cmd.CommandTimeout = 1000 but it didn't work out!
Display correctly Time elapsed and % Completed while processing.

I used to often use the ubiquitous INI type file in VB6 programs but I am aware that these are not formally supported in .Net programs. I also have a major aversion to adding to the already overwhelming bloat of the Windows registry by using that to store values.

I don't want to have to build this whole thing by hand. I've looked at a few options out there and the closest is Formulator.Net [URL]. What Formulator is lacking, though, is a way for me to pass parameters to be stored in the results in the database so I can identify who filled out the form.

With that said, I need help with something I wanted to make for quite a while. So I'm in an orginization called Civil Air Patrol (or CAP). We have a certain order our ribbons on our uniform have to be. The ribbon on the bottom right is the least important ribbon and the one at the top left is the most important one.[URL]I tried making this program before, but I completely failed and threw it out. Mar 15, 2012I'm experimenting with the sql command builder and it seems to do nothing when trying to update existing rows. If I create a new row and then add it then it works fine but I cant seem to update an existing record.

Formatting Remarks In Sandcastle Builder?
Jul 28, 2010I've been using sandcastle builder to make my help file documentation for our code base. It works real good just out of the box, but I need to customize it a little.How do you you format remarks? In the xml comments in code, you can have tabs and carriage returns and such to make things look readable, but all that get's taken out by Sandcastle and it gets converted to one long paragraph.For instance:

Query Builder For A Database Search?
Dec 18, 2010i have this win form app that performs a database search of customer information. I have a datagridview, a binding navigator and a fill/addquery toolstrip with a toolstrip button and a textbox.Here is my query, i want to find all customer names like what i enter in the textbox
