however, this doesn't have an ID so i can't simply use GetElementById. if i were in JS i would use a 'GetElementsByClassName' and then set an index to find the element i want to use but i am not sure if vb.net has such a function so i thought about trying to call its parent element which does have an Id but this does nothing.
i have also tried using the 'GetElemenetsByTagName' (i actually was using this thinking it was a GetElementsByClassName which is probably why it didn't work, whoops) so i was thinking about using GetElementById to locate the parent element, list5101, and then if possible find the child node i want and triggering it like that. or maybe i could just call the javascript function outright ?
I have noticed that ShellExecute does nothing (no errors or anything) if the Advanced Compile Options for the Target CPU is set to "x86", but it does work for "Any CUP' and "x64". Is there a way or setting to fix this? I am currently running Visual Studio 2005 on a Windows 7 x64 machine.[code]...
I have a web browser setup and in that browser I customized the right click options to use a Context Menu Strip to add a few right click options to my menu. In the menu I have added a right click option for the name "username"...what I'm trying to do is when I find the username text box on a web page I want to be able to left click in the textbox to get the focus and then right click to go to my menu, choose the right click option username.
I've been having problems with a really basic search routine that I have used successfully before but now for some reason does not. I have a text file that looks like this: Spindly Killer Fish, fish, spindly, aggressive, dangerous, grey, Sect.B Tank.1, 20 It is then loaded into a two dimensional array with comma separation. This is all fine and with the following nested for loops it works also, it just doesn't seem to compare the selected element with the textbox value. [Code]
I'm using the following code to read in a highscores file with the score written first and the player's name written to the next line, and then display the top 3 scores or fewer if there aren't 3 scores written to the file. A highscores display should have the scores sorted with the highest first so that's what this program tries to implement.
Array.sort() isn't doing a damn thing. In fact, the program's not even reversing the arrays like it should either. I've tested array.sort() this way with the names and scores arrays given explicitly and it works fine. I thought maybe it was still reading the data as string even though it's declared otherwise but it rounds off decimals when I change the array type to Integer so I'm pretty sure it's not that.
I have no idea why reading the data in from a file changes how it's sorted. My teacher didn't understand what was going on either. Does anyone know what's going on here?

This may sound really stupid but I have to ask cause I'm not finding this answer anywhere.I have an application where the user will need to sign up for a new user account on the website [URL]..However when I am using Firefox's plug-in Firebug to view html I am getting something totally different than when I just right click on the site and view the page source.
What I am trying to do is to get the captcha from the website and display it in a picturebox on the application so the user can view the captcha, solve the captcha and then the app post is back to the service for a response.
Here is the source that I am getting using Firefox's Firebug to inspect the element:
<td> <input type="hidden" value="Oo3Jo1I8bgzK68agMqo3s79ZZib2OkbK" name="iden"> <img class="capimage" src="/captcha/Oo3Jo1I8bgzK68agMqo3s79ZZib2OkbK.png" alt="i wonder if these things even work"> </td>
[Code]...
Why would the two be showing me two different versions of the HTML?
And how would you be able to grab that source to view in a picturebox using webclient?
Okay so this is my html line with the ID: <id="accounttype" class=inline-block"><strong><?=$_SESSION['accounttype']?></strong><br>this is what it grabs
I have a number of rewrite rules for a lot of things that I did in IIS7, like removing trailing slashes, canonnical URLs, lowercase lettering, and such. IIS altered my web.config, and everything works fine on the website, like it should. But in the Visual Studio web.config, the opening < rewrite > statement is underlined in blue, and at the bottom of VS, it says that the element 'system.webServer' has invalid child element 'rewrite'. But this is how IIS made it. I didn't do this manually. Should I be concerned with this VS error, or should I just leave as be, since it's working how it should work? Here's an example of my web.config:
I'm trying to fill a webpage in using GetElementById
Basically, the problem I'm having is that there are two textboxes that have the same name, and because of the way GetElementById works, it inputs the first textbox instead of the second (Which I'm trying to input)
When I run my program if finds fields fill's them in and submits, but sometimes the page does not have them fields and I just want it to skip them if not found so it continues otherwise it crashes.
My e.g field: WebBrowser1.Document.GetElementById("subject").SetAttribute("value", TextBox3.Text)
Is there a way to control the way a browser behaves such as if I click on this link it doesn't navigate to that link but instead show me the source code behind that button?

I have a working code that works if the element id exists, but what happens when it doesn't. It stops the code read from where it doesn't exist. I don't receieve any errors,. I have tried:
If WebBrowser1.Document.GetElementById("displayAge") = "" Then <---this doesn't work, needs to check if Element exists if not then exits, if does then it gets attribute
I have been doing well and also I am a noob I know it and you know it a lot has started making sense and I am evening figuring new things out without using Google but of course I have hit another snag in my program so here goes

So my only problem is I need a way to check every x seconds for the element and then if its there proceed with my code and if its not wait and then check again or however this is done in VB.If this is not the way its done please point me in the right direction the code I am using to find and then navigate to the link is
Dim emailpageelements As HtmlElementCollection = WebBrowser2.Document.GetElementsByTagName("a") For Each emailver As HtmlElement In emailpageelements If InStr(emailver.InnerHtml, "https://twitter.com/account/confirm_email/") Then WebBrowser1.Navigate(emailver.InnerText)

Microsoft JScript runtime error: 'document.getElementById(...)' is null or not an object
The code block is:
else if (action=="officeview") { document.getElementById("OfficeContent").src="ChangeView.aspx"; ShowFeatureModal('AppView','OfficeContent')
The object is this situation, does exist. Error is caused at: document.getElementById line. What else could be causing the error?
Update:Index.aspx is calling the javascript function which is located in sysUtilities.js file. The source file is yet a seperate page (ChangeView.aspx)
I want to be able to reference an element in an array of structures by the name of the element in a visual basic 2010 function. For example
Public Structure myStruct Public element1 as string Public element2 as integer Public element3 as boolean
[code]...
Is it possible to reference a structures element by the element's name in a similar way to that shown above. The code shown above does not work, as the expression obj(i).[elementName] does not work as hoped.
I would like the following function to return Nothing if the element with the specified key is not in the collection. Instead, it returns an error - something to the effect of "no element found"

I use Visual Studio 2003, VB.net, NetFramework 1.4 and Windows XP I have been using the following Code Snippet for a number of years in both Web Services and Windows Applications. However suddenly around the 29th September 2010 it has stopped sending E-Mails from both Web Services and Windows Applications. The same problem has happened not only to my own Network but on two other Networks, one using XP as its Server and the other using Server 2003. All 3 of these are using different ISPs.
I would like to associate a web page element, a textbox for example, with a textbox in my form. When a user types something in the textbox, I would like it to be like he types it on the webpage.

what im trying to achieve is to make textbox1.text = the current activity so that would be (Last seen 47 minutes ago playing db: raging blast)
ex1)webbrowser1.getelementbyid("currentactivity") = textbox1.text ex2)webbrowser1.getelementbyid("currentactivity").text = textbox1.text something like that
