I am using Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate, I developed an application in Visual Basic and that is running successfully when I copy this application to other system then it does not run and .Net framework is installed on other system.

I have no clue how to solve this (See attached image).All of the errors have to do with Excel and Outlook applications.The info for "Imports" section is the same as my other project and all the "Dims" are the same as well. I have a solution with two projects. The main project connects to the second project via a reference, and the reference path is local to my machine. It looks like it references the .exe file.So when I publish the main project (ClickOnce), i get the following error:
Application validation did not succeed. Unable to continue.In the log file, under Error Details, it says
System.Deployment.Application.InvalidDeploymentException (RefDefValidation)
- Reference in the manifest does not match the identity of the download assembly Project2.exe
- Source: System.Deployment
How can I include this second project? Should I publish it, then reference the published files? What do i reference? The .application file?Is there a way to just include this second project, so when I do publish the main project, the second one just goes along with it?
trying to get my hands wet on vs 2010 and i downloaded samples from ms site but when i tried to run some of the DB samples i received this sql error: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) any ideas how to get around on this?
View 5 RepliesI'm using Visual Studio Development Server (Visual Basic 2010) and it works fine. Now I've enabled NTLM Authorization because I want to test the website using a different user account. Now when I try to access the website I always get the following error page:

HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden.
Version Information: ASP.NET Development Server 10.0.0.0 .I'm using a test account which is a normal user within our domain. I've already set the access rights in my project folder to Full Access for this user but it does not help.

What I think caused the issue is I attached the .mdf file I have referenced in my application to my SQL Server. I then detached the database in SQL Server, opened my VB app and re-built the app. When I tried to install the app, I received the error. Attached are the details of the error message.

My problem is retrieving the current active form (or application), when my application is started up. I was wondering if it's possible to store application data within an application without storing the data in an external file. For example, in my application, the user can choose where he/she would like to store the files that the application creates. I need to make the application remember the location that the user specified. I've tried using My.Settings to save this information, but since my application is standalone, if the location of the application changes, the My.Settings information changes as well (unless I coded it incorrectly before). I would prefer not to store this data in a .txt file or something similar.

this is my very first posting and I must say I am desperate. I have a VB assignment due in 2 days and I am so lost. I have written a code to draw some graphic, just a basic house, tree, sun etc. I have also written a code to magnify said graphics which were all the specifications of my Assignment 1 part A. Now for Part B I am being asked to extend my program so that: A - My graphic can be drawn using different colour schemes designed by me but chosen by the user B - My graphic or an appropriate part of it can be animated around the picture box if the user chooses to do so. C - Error checking is included.
