I have a weird XP only error. When i distributed my application to XP user it said right after he clicked the .exe without the GUI of the form "Application has encountered a error and program needs to close".

I have completed and distibuted a VB.net (VS 2008) winforms application to numerous users.
One user reports the following error when opening the application:
"[Application] has encountered an error and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost."
I can't reproduce this.

I don't know if this is simply a syntax error that can be fixed easily, or something to do with my database configuration.

All I want is for the program to just "continue" when this thing happen. But that seems to be impossible. So I guess I need a way to make sure this bug doesn't happen. It happens randomly eery 800 entries or so.
Looks to me the connection is forcibly closed by remote host. In that case, I simply want to go where things left on and restart again.
I have built my first VB 2008 application and now I want to install it on other Windows 7 & Windows XP computers. I have tried various Install Programs but they all giving similar problems. Is all I have to do is copy the contents of the bin directory to the other computers? [Code] When I try to run my application I get the message "MyApp has encountered a problem and needs to close". Presently working a tutorial in visual basic 2010. I have encountered the error " keyword is not valid as an identifier" I have read the definition of an identifier in the beginners section. Although I undertand the definition of an identifier I still am not sure of it when looking at a line of code. The tutorial gives an analogy but does not show examples of identifiers as they would actually apprear in a coding project.

I have a solution with two projects. The main project connects to the second project via a reference, and the reference path is local to my machine. It looks like it references the .exe file.So when I publish the main project (ClickOnce), i get the following error:
Application validation did not succeed. Unable to continue.In the log file, under Error Details, it says
System.Deployment.Application.InvalidDeploymentException (RefDefValidation)
- Reference in the manifest does not match the identity of the download assembly Project2.exe

How can I include this second project? Should I publish it, then reference the published files? What do i reference? The .application file?Is there a way to just include this second project, so when I do publish the main project, the second one just goes along with it?
We have a customer, who prints a large number of a batch job to a reporting service. When printing large batches of jobs, occasionally he would get a WebException from reporting services saying "The underlying connection was closed".What is the work around for this? Somebody added this portion in the code [code]It doesn't seem to fix the issue though. The customer still notices the Web Exception when she prints a large job to reporting service.
View 8 Repliestrying to get my hands wet on vs 2010 and i downloaded samples from ms site but when i tried to run some of the DB samples i received this sql error: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) any ideas how to get around on this?
