I just downloaded a Dictionary Words list .txt( containing all dictionary words ), every word is on a line.What i need is only words > 5 letters ( length > 5 ). S o i though about making a Visual basic software that delete words < 5 letters from the file.

View 13 RepliesI have a textbox with a large amount of data, but I am trying to extract only the following into an array: only 3 or 4 letter, uppercase words. The goal is to find all stock symbols within a document.
For example, in this post, if I were to type "MSFT", regex would extract MSFT because it is a 4 letter, uppercase word.
I have a binary converter I am attempting to build and want to read and convert the InputTextBox(alphabetical characters) letter by letter however all I have so far is one letter at a time

Currently, the user must first type in the driver they're new folder is located in (Like C , D , E , ect). This then takes them to where the pre-determined folder is located. However, my friend decided to make this harder for me. He now wants the user to be able to change the 'pre-determined' folder.
As you can see, they type the driver name in and then it sends them to a path that is in the richtextbox. However, with them now being able to change the path if they like, the thing looks like this.. (If they decided to browse for a new path)[code]...

But if I edit the same file again its down to 16k and corrupted. The image being edited is the standard desert.jpg found in the picturessample pictures directory.

This is what comes out: "A first occurs in position -1". Everything comes out except the position is always displayed as -1.

I'm creating a small program using Visual Basic 2010 Express. I'm planning to place the program on a CD, along with the files I want to run. The program will have command buttons, and each button will open a different file.For example, if there is a file on the CD named ReadMe.txt, the user will be able to open it using the program, which is on the same disc as "ReadMe", by clicking the corresponding button (or link) ("ReadMe".)The problem is, that I don't know what the CD drive letter will be. Is there a code to make the program run a file which is in the same location as the program?

For example when I select a word the program display the list of Synonyms in a listbox so I select a Synonym then the program replace the word selected in the article.
