I'm trying to make a USB strobe light type thing. I have a cut USB cord with an led attached to the black and red wires. Now I'm trying to write a script to make the light flash on and off really fast. I've tried several different apis but none are doing it.

Ace = 1
Normal Cards = 2-10
Color Cards (king, queen, etc,) = 11
The dealer can keep hitting until it reaches 17 or under 21, he must always stay once it hits 17 or over (without busting obviously).
I know the ace normally should be 1 or 11 normally but I don't want to complicate things, I want to get the main thing of the program working first.

View 14 RepliesI am looking to create a VB 2008 Express programme which converts a data stream from a picoscope muscle sensor into a power output board which controls a mechanism.In simple terms when the Muscle sensor reaches a value of 0.8 V or higher I want the programme to send a text file to the power output control programme, and likewise when the sensor is below 0.2 V I want the power to be zero.
So 0.8 V > = send text file (0O=100%)
0.2 V < = send text file (0O=0%)
so when muscles being senced move the device turns on and off.I think I am successfully getting the data stream from the Picoscope which is plugged in the usb. I am using codes and examples that the programming guide for the device provided.here is a quick snap shot of the code (ps2000 is the driver used for the device)

View 4 RepliesI have added a timer control to a VB.NET windows form to have a message flash on and off between ticks. When I load the form I have the timer disabled. When i click on a command button, I set Timer1.Enabled to True so that the timer can begin flashing the message. The timer does not flash the message. I added a MsgBox function after where I turn on the timer. When the message box is displayed and I click OK, then the timer starts flashing the message. I turn the timer off later and that seems to work fine. I have tried the Timer1.Start() method but that does not work. Any thoughts on why the message box allows it to run but the form does not?

I recently wrote a program to copy files off of a hard drive with a corrupted copy of windows. I'm not sure how to make it run off of my flash drive in dos. I set boot priority to only boot off of the flash drive yet it will not run. I tried writing an autorun.ini file, which did nothing. I think i need to make a boot.ini file.

I have a quick question after seeing a video online.Is a VB variable the equivalent of an 'instance' in Flash and a VB object like a 'symbol' in Flash? Is this what it means by a variable being a reference or pointer to an object and not the object itself?
