Created A User Control(button) Which Can Flash By Changing Its Backgroung Color?
Jan 19, 2009
I have created a user control(button) which can flash by changing its backgroung color(I am using a timer). The control works Ok when its flashing property is set to true in form_load event. However it does not work when same is done elseware.
I have a vb.net application that uses Flash movies (AxShockwaveFlashObjects.AxShockwaveFlash). I have buttons in the flash movie. When they first start using the application, they can single click on the buttons in the flash movie and button responds accordingly. But after a while (and I haven't been able to pin-point an exact thing that changes it or my issue would be solved), the user has to double-click on the button in the flash movie for them to work.
I have created 3 arrays of buttons for a form which manipulates the value in a combo box or 2 by the name of the button ( buttons named 2 through to about 70 )
This works great but the problem is, now that the buttons are in, I want to be able to change the color of the buttons when another button is clicked
ie. The first bunch of buttons is a list of locations all with unique text.the second bunch of buttons is events that happen, sign on, sign off, beach open and beach closed.
What i want to be able to do is change the color of the button clicked "before" i click sign on, sign off, beach open or beach closed.
I do not know how to reference these buttons in my code as for starters, they are numbers, which is a big no no apparently. Also, even if i change the name from just a number to something like cmdBeach(i) when creating them, i still can't refer back to cmdBeach5 in my code as the button doesn't exist yet
I've got a program where I want something to happen when the user presses the 'k' key. I want my label to change colour. vb.net Private Sub k(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.KeyPressEventArgs) Handles MyBase.KeyPress lbl_letter2.ForeColor = Color.Magenta End Sub Doesn't work.
I have made a program wherein you the labels are dynamically created with a press of a button. if you press on the label, the label would then change color from white to blue. my problem is that how will you make the backcolor of the label change when the button3 is pressed.
here are the codes. placed the whole thing since I dunno if you guys would understand what I mean.
[code]...
PS here is the link to what my program looks like. link to my program . the button3 in the image is Reserve Seat.
I have a win app written in Visual Studio 2008 and it uses the original back color from the form designer: Backcolor = control. The background color is slightly different when I use the following code
I have a form with buttons, and the user can change the colors of the buttons with the color dialog box for fun:
Button_Play.BackColor = ColorDialog.Color
There is a reset button to put the colors to how they were without any special coloring, but I can't get them to go back to how they originally looked. They go to gray in the middle, instead of the nice shaded blue/gray style. I have tried a few different things:
I am using VB '08 Express on Win XP with the Desktop, Display Properties, Appearance, Windows and Buttons: set to Media Center Style and Color Scheme: set to Energy Blue. how to (with this theme) get the button to look like default after changing the color?
I have a web application where I built a wizard, going from panel to panel.Besides using the Next, Previous buttons, one can use the Side Bar to select what panel to go to.The problem is that while the selected Panel's side bar button is Highlighted / Bolded, it is barely discernable to my client. Not only do they want the button highlighted, but they want the (selected) side bar button to change color as well.
I've been following you for some time, and many of the things you've done have helped me a lot, but this time I got stuck and need the help of an expert.I'll explain my case:I'm developing an assistance programme for an online game, and being this the 10th version I release, I wanted to do something special for the users, so I decided to make the programme based on tabs and give it the aspect of a new skin of the game that will be released soon.
As you may have guessed from the Title, I want to change the gray that is arround the flat buttons and on all the border of the tabcontrol, which is docked to the form. Here is a picture of the programme. To colour the tab buttons I used the following
Private Sub TabControl1_DrawItem(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.DrawItemEventArgs) Handles TabControl.DrawItem
[Code]...
The problem is that I don't understand how to apply the "A Completely OwnerDraw TabControl" to my project, my knowledge isn't so far yet. Is there any way I can achieve the same results using something simplier? Or if not, could someone explain to me how to apply it without making any mistakes?
1. Is there any way to disable refreshing in such a way that the button can still be used for stuff like flash on the page still? All my methods have blocked using the button in the flash which is loaded on the page....
2. Is there any way to get the new scrollbars of IE10 or metro style scrollbar or what not into the webbrowser like the desktop version of IE10 does in Windows 8 Consumer Preview?
3. Is there any way to allow the close window called from javascript to be detected & actually close the window in my program?
4. Is there any way to make it so when new window is called it will open a new window with my application in a new instance? stopping me now is it seems to want to open in the same window if I use the event NewWindow to cancel the event from happening but it gets script errors....is there any way to retrieve the link to what it needs to open so I can handle this properly? Or at least tell it what else to use? besides the default browser....I want it to open inside my own program & not IE.
I created a user control with a label and 2 combo boxes, and a public property called ControlDataSource that accepts a dataset - which it populates the combo boxes with. I added the reference to the VB project I want to use it on and to the toolbox. I was able to draw it on the form with no problem and use it. However, after changing the backcolor on the control and recompiling it, it is no longer seen by the form. When I bring up the form it's used on, I get a white screen with a bunch of xml. The problem seems to be in the designer, and I get an "object reference not set to an instance of an object" error. Here is the code from the designer:
[code]...
The reference error is pointing to the line: Me.UcDx1.ControlDataSource = Nothing
Here's the wierd part. If I hover the cursor over that property, it correctly identifies it as a dataset. So it does know what it is, but it can't seem to use it.
Good day all,A Flash movie that plays fine when opened in a web browser is playing slowly and choppily in my VB 2005 WinForm application on the same machine.
I created a Custom User Control at work using VS Express. It was added to my toolbox and then I added it to my form. When I created another one at my home use VS Pro, I think, it was not added to my toolbox and I'm not sure how to access it.
After taking a few years off from programming, I decided to start learning vb.net. I have created a user control that contains a picture box. I added some custom properties to the picture box that will hold general string data from a database.
My problem is that the user control is programatically created during run time, and during this time a DoubleClick event handler is added for the picture box that is within the user control.
I need to be able to set the custom properties for the picture box during the creation of the user control, so that when the control (picture box) is double clicked I can read these values but am unsure on how to access them.
The picture box is the entire size of the user control, or I would just add the custom properties right to the user control and add the DoubleClick event handler to that. However, double clicking needs to be done on the picture box since it takes up the entire user control, unless anyone has an idea to trigger the DoubleClick event of the user control when the picture box is double clicked.
I'm trying to create a button that will hide the panel that I have docked at the centre of my user control. [code]This works to an extent. However, when the bottomPanel is set to Fill it seems to fill the entire control, and not just up to toolStrip1. Can anyone tell me why this is happening, and how to correct it?
I have a form which has a user control in it added dynamically. How can I change the values in that dynamically generated user control? All my functions are in a module and I will just call them in main form. So in module how can I find that user control and change its values? I tried writing a function in user control form. Like it has 10 txt box and I tried to pass a structure as argument in that user control form but I am unable to do so. when I tried to declare the structure outside function parameter in user control form it works well but not as function parameter..
I'm using VB.Net. I have a WPF User Control called "NavigationPanel" which I created with the Designer. By default, its scope is Public. When I change its scope to Friend in the file NavigationPanel.xaml.vb, I recieve the following error:
I've got a couple of instances of a user control on a flowlayoutpanel. The user control has got a couple of controls on it, and very little / almost none of the control's original space is visible. I need to know when the mouse is inside the usercontrol. What then happens is that the border color changes (of a control in the user control), and when it leaves the control, it changes back to original state.
I tried the following: Private Sub ctrDashboardWidgetFrame_MouseEnter(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.MouseEnter Try ShowControls() Catch ex As Exception [Code] .....
And it works, but it only works when you move over the original visible space of the user control, and doesn't work when you move over the child controls inside the user control. How I'll be able to achieve this to also work while the user is inside the full user control and not just it's visible space?
I would like to recreate the behaviour of a button or command button on an user control. I need to layout a group of this user control on a form so user can select only one at a time. When users click on one of this user controls a selection frame is drawn to indicate that it has been selected. The problem I have is clearing the selection frame when other control is clicked on. How do buttons or command buttons do this? If you layout a group of buttons only one is highlighted. I have tried using different events like LostFocus and Leave and nothing seems to work.
I have a TextBox that displays a color as its background color and the background color code in its text. I have set the text color as Black. The problem is that if the user sets the color as Black then the color code will be unreadable. How do I set the text color programmatically so that it becomes readable when the user selects any color?
I'm working with Visual Studio 2008 and trying to copy datas from the clipboard to the notepad. Copying datas is OK, but Sendkeys func. is only works with foreground programs. However I'm trying to paste these datas to the notepad that is working on background. How can I solve this problem?
I created a button control ,, by double clicking only the process was going on,,when iam single click the button nothing is to be happenend,,so i want to change into single click insted of double click........here my coding is given below.......
I created an user control that is called prueba2 this is the [code]...
Now if i modify my usercontrol prueba2 and instead of 1 button i put 4 buttons for doing simmilar things, the code would be different, my question is : how can i modify the code to know when i click on button1 or 3? and show the text of the textbox in the form, ? if there is a sample code will be good
I have created two user controls (lets say A and B) and calling then on default.aspx. Both user controls have button named as clear and its event method "btn_clear_click (sender, event)". Actually I like to do something like this: if I click clear button of user control A then it would also do the same tasks defined in user control B's bth_clear_click method. Means, is there any why to call button event of one user control in another user control.
