View 4 RepliesThis VS010 solution is not providing my intended outcome as a custom override of a 'crosshair' or 'reticle' cursor e.Graphics.DrawPath() is the function that isn't working. This
WORKING solution demonstrates how it's supposed to work. The additonal PictureBox added to a Panel is, for reasons I don't understand, not allowing the 'new' cursor to appear.

as in VB2008 the documentation suggest creating a module or class, then selecting 'Export Template' on the File menu. Regrettably my file menu does not show the item 'Export Template' in my installation of Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2.

Color custom cursor appears to be black when I run the program. The color custom cursor is imported from desktop by using Resources in vb.net. When I run the program the cursor turns out to be black. HOW DO I FIX IT?
View 2 RepliesI am working on a contract to repair problems in a application that interfaces with a custom built digitizer tablet. The application recognizes the tablet at startup, initiates calibration to locate the pad limits and then saves those limits to file.During the run of the application the user has a cursor that is changed to a line with a X on the left hand side of it. The user then uses this custom cursor to click in a PDF document where they would like the contents of the Digitizer pad to be placed. When they click a box signifying the size of the digitizer pad along with the same blank and X appears. What I have been having issue with is that the box and the line with the X appear most of the time but on occasion the line and X appears at either the top or bottom of the box and the click is no longer at the line with the X but somewhere in the middle of the box. This really screws up things and often the user has to uninstall and re-install the application to get it righted.
The values that save the calibration points are bound to variables during the build process, there is a separate routine to calibrate the digitizer pad if the user desires to do it again.

I have a custom cursor for the user to allow them to position text in PDF files. For the most part there never seems to be a problem, but a choice few people are seeing massive problems with this.
One particular client loads the program, and then loads a PDF document into it. Once the program has loaded when the user clicks he either doesn't get a custom cursor or the signiture blank that is to show up is above the frame that is to surround the blank.
The user is using Windows XP on a laptop and the software re-renders the cursor and box every time. There is a signiture tablet that the user buys to connect to this software, and the user also has expressed problems with the Tablet not staying connected.
I can provide pictures of the changes and code if anyone would like to tackle this?

I have several questions/problems about Cursors.
1. I have a custom cursor that won't display in color, no matter what I do.
2. Can I have Animated Cursors?
3. Why doesn't VB.net support 32 bit cursors, but only 8 bit?
4. Can I have a cursor thats greater than 32x32?
Is there a way to create a custom cursor when doing a DnD operation? For example, if I'm dragging a button control I would like the cursor to look like a rectangle that is the same size as the button.
View 4 RepliesI want to create a custom control that has a cursor like a regular text box, I tried using a line and a timer that makes the line 'Blink', but that wasn't too reliable because I had to change the location and background in the timer... I guess I could do it, but I wanted to ask my question here.
Basically what I am doing is creating a custom control to allow inputs as in fractions, sub/superscripts, etc.... The TextBox Control doesn't support text in that many locations.
What I have is a program that is receiving an image from my webcam 4 times each second.. What I am currently doing is just forwarding that image to a picturebox on my main form.. I do not keep the image in memory so as not to clog it up.. When you look at it seems like a video feed. Now what I want to do is to take that image every time it comes.. and put it into a video file, so as to record everything that is being seen by the camera.. Is there any way to encode a video preferably avi or mp4 video..
View 2 RepliesI am quite new at VB.NET and just need helo on sorting algorithms, prferbly the fastest (quick sort) but bubble would so. It is for sorting and array for 12 numbers, which are being enter by the user via a input box. These are then transfered onto a listbox for visual aid. so the steps involved would be: (already done)1) Enter then inputs into array via inputbox2) Input to sppear in listbox (not done)3) Sort the array ascending/decending4) print results into the listbox again. In my code there is also a total and a average, but that doesnt need any help on it. View 4 RepliesIn DGV, if the contents of the cell is truncated, the DGV shows ellipses (three dots) (...); but as the font is set to a Gujarati font, it displays a Gujarati alphabet "ઈઈઈ" instead of "..." because the Gujarati character "ઈ" is coded with the English "." (dot) character. In Gujarati font, "." can be generated with the English character "P".So, How can I change the ellipses to English "P" character? OR How can I remove the ellipses completely?I have found a similar solution by berc on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 1:33 PM :but I am not sure it is the perfect and/or the only way to do so, AND it will really work or not

I'm able to create a List(Of String) containing a local directory structure of a LOCAL folder. I'm wondering how I would go about getting this structure for a website, in order to get a listing of all files of a particular type (for example: all .html files)
Something along the lines of what Xenu does would be perfect, but I don't know how to get started. I was thinking of doing something with parsing out "/" of the URL, but then you'd need to know the "deepest" file that exists on the site.. which you won't know...
Is there a way to get a folder listing of each directory of a site without having FTP access or something? (I'm assuming no due to security risks)
My only other option would be to crawl all hyperlinks within the site, and storing all the "internal" ones, but I don't know how to set up that loop, or how to know when it has reached the "deepest" level.
Kinda like when you delete a remote folder from FileZilla, it will traverse all sub-diretories first and delete those files.
I need my program to 'take a peek' into a ZIP file and see if it contains a certain file. I need it to do this many times for a large number of files, so I would prefer it without having to unzip the entire zip-file each time, as that would take far too much time (it's a fairly large zip-file of about 250 MB).Also, I don't need the actual file at all. All I need to know is if it exists inside the zip file.
vb.net
If IO.File.Exists("C:FolderIPFile.zipfolder_in_zipfile.jpg") Then
' "file.jpg" exists inside zip-file!

I created a new cursor (it works properly, I tried it in windows 7) but is not working for me in the program.I took the Windows cursor (aero_helpsel_xl, from C:WindowsCursors) and it appears to me the same error.i use with this code:
Me.Cursor = New Cursor("Patch..")
The problem say:: "{"Image format is not valid. Image file may be corrupted.
