Oct 22, 2009currently we are doing a project in vb.net. I want to identify and count a irregular shape of pattern (which is a predefined shape ) inside an image.

Image Text Recognition - COMException Unhandled
Mar 22, 2010I am trying to read text from an image. I have been trying to use OCR from MODI but I keep getting an error. Here is the simplest version of code (I've tried several)
Dim miDoc As MODI.Document
miDoc = New MODI.Document
miDoc.Create("C:document1.bmp")
miDoc.OCR()
miDoc = Nothing
As far as I can tell, my program gets stuck every time it gets to:
miDoc = New MODI.Document
it tells me a COMException was unhandled
I am using vb in vb.net, and I have a reference to the COM "Microsoft Office Document Imaging 12.0 Type Library". Every thing I have tried seems to come up with the same error.

Oct 22, 2008i'm creating 64 button dynamically during run time. and from database i'm getting the description, font color, back color and picture path. and if the picture path is not nothing, then i need to display that picture in that button. if picture path is nothing, then need to display the description as button text using font color and back color.
this button values are not loaded only once. using button click Addhandler, each button values keeps on changing each time.
The Code i used to display is

while i run the program, the image is diplaying in correct button if picture path exist and button that didn't have the picture path is displaying the text.
but the image is not fitting inside the Button. i can see only half of the image. i need a way to make the Image stretched or reduced to fit inside button.

Jun 11, 2008I am trying to write a 'simple' program with vs 2005 that recognises my specific usb memory stick so that I can make windows log off or 'lock' when the device is not in any slot. I have found some ready code and I am trying to modify it for my needs. There compiling works but when it doesnt find any of the usb ports.It works by checking each port if it is a usb port and then compares the vendor and produck ID to the given. it seems simple enough but I cant get it to find the USB.

Oct 14, 2006I'm working on a program that needs Speech Recognition and every website says to download the Microsoft Speech Recognition Engine. I can't find that, but I've downloaded all the SDKs. Are they the same? And it always says to add a speech recognition component to the form, but I can't find where that is in Visual Basic 2005. I'm using the Express Edition, but I don't think that matters.
