VS 02 / 03 - Saving Form Name In History Menu
Jul 17, 2009
My solution includes 9 projects, each project includes lots of forms. I want to make History menu, it's alike Windows Menu in Visual Studio. When I work in one form, it will save this form name in History Menu, so that I can reopen this Form after that, we can choose the number of Forms saved in History Menu.

How to add a file history to my Main Menu. I open my windows application and select a txt file to open called "File 1". Later I open "File 2" and "File 3". I have now closed the windows application. A day later I open my windows application again. How do I view the recent files selected to my FILE menu? For example, I would expect to see "File 1", "File 2", and "File 3" under recent files. This would allow the user to easily reference the past recent files that were opened. Word and Excel have the feature and I am sure it can be done in VS2005.

I am using a dataset connected to SQL2008, what i am struggling with is i would like a save button to check to see if any changes were made before the form is saved and then if any are detected then send it back to another sql table called "LogDetail" as a history, i hope that makes sence? I have two tables called "NewDetail" and "LogDetail".

How do I make a menu item on a menu strip link to another windows form (like a menu item that links to an about page already created in the project). I know that every coder knows how to do this, but i've read most of the instructions in the world for Visual Basic coding, but can't find ANYTHING I know coding fairly well, so I can modify it, but I can't create it my self.

I have a small script that logs all of the website I visit and then displays them on a form. When I open the form the first time it displays all of the websites like it should. However, the second time I open it, it displays two of every website. The third time opening it, three of every website. I think that it is because the data doesn't get erased from the listbox when I close the form. Is there a way to clear the listbox when the form closes or do I need to find a new way to set it up?

I have a forms application and I have multiple localizations for it. I've figured out how to add a button to a form, to change the localization and then read all the labels/etc and change them to the other language.What I would want to do instead now is click a button and it changes to the other language the current form but also the entire application so that any other windows opened while the application is open open in that other language.[code]This is the code I use when a button is clicked on a form to change it to Hindi the current form. However I want to when the button is clicked, change application to continue to run on that localization instead for the remainder of the time it is open.[code]

1: I have to create an application that will dynamically add a menu strip with menu items to a form (i.e., NOT dragged and dropped onto the form) in Visual Basic. The menu strip should be created in the Form_Load event handler. I have to use a TextBox for user input. If the user enters information into the TextBox and clicks on the Add Button, the text should be added to a ComboBox control.
A Menu should then be created that must be added to the menu strip dynamically. There should be a second TextBox that will be used to add a new menu item to the menu that is currently selected in the ComboBox. When a menu item is selected, it must simply display a MessageBox with the items name (For example, adding a menu item called View would display a MessageBox with the message "View").
2: I have to create a quiz machine program in in Visual Basic with the following:
A menu strip that must be created programmatically (ie NOT dragged and dropped onto the form). There should be an exit option added to the menu strip that must exit the application.
A structure must be created to encapsulate all the questions and suggested answers. The structure must contain:
Question String
Answers Collection
Correct Answer String
When the form loads, 5 questions must be created in code using these structures. These 5 structures will then serve as the quiz. The user must be shown the first question, and have the option of browsing forwards and backwards through the quiz. The program should store saved answers to select the radio button when users cycle through. This can be done by any means possible, for example an ArrayList or SortedList.
I have to ensure that the suggested answers are randomized the first time the form loads only. Once the user has selected an answer for every question, the Submit button should be enabled. When the user clicks this button, the program must then evaluate the quiz and compare the users selected answers against the correct answer. A valid message must then be displayed via a MessageBox indicating the user's score.

If I have setup a simple form named Fmain, in this form I have created a menu strip, this menustrip has a item showing a new for called Frfxcom. In this Frfxcom form I placed a textbox and used its databinding property for connecting to a local database pointing to a certain column in the database named " ip". The database wizard started and inserted some code, at that moment the errors "type not defined" showed up. Here is the automatic generated code:
<Global.Microsoft.VisualBasic.CompilerServices.DesignerGenerated()> _
Partial Class Frfxcom
Inherits System.Windows.Forms.Form
'Form overrides dispose to clean up the component list.
<System.Diagnostics.DebuggerNonUserCode()> _

I have a visual basic 2010 project that has a menu item hidden (visibility). there is a second form (child window) that you can popup and hit a button to show the menu item. I am having trouble finding the right commands to do this. I am use to C and the API where you can get the handle to the parent windows menu, and do it that way. But I have been unsuccessful in VB.
