Scenerio:
1-I am using a third party control
2-Installed it
3-All dll are in reference list, if i add them from their default folder and make local copy true,it works fine
i want to add them from "MyFolder"??How to refer them in my project?? current it gives error like
"could not load file or assemblies..*.dll.."
I can't seem to figure this out. I basically am trying to write a class, not a usercontrol, that can show up in the ToolBox. I want it to act similar to how a ContextMenuStrip or BindingSource does, in that there is no UI when you throw in on the Form, it goes down to that bottom part (name?).
1) What do you call those types of components?
2) Why won't this test class that I wrote do the same thing?

I have an application that i have developed which requires me to run a method in one of the classes on a timely basis. Basically, calling the method at an interval.I can do this if there's only a single object, but the number of objects that i have to create depends on the number of entries in a table. I was wondering if it's possible to add timer control dynamically and make the tick even call objects' methods at an interval.

UPDATE: OK, something's really screwed up. When I inspect the Me object above, it isn't even putting out the kind of object I expect. I think I may need to piece together the solution again.
As a preface, I am brand new to using SQL Server 2005; I know how to use the SELECT, UPDATE, DELETE, and INSERT commands and that's about it. I am also using Express Edition on my local PC (E8400 processor, 8GB of DDR2-800, 2 x 640GB SATA-II HDD in RAID 1)
I have a table that I set up with 8 columns, all are NVARCHAR(Max) and I allow Null. I know in concept what a primary key is, but I don't have one (nor do I know how to set one up).
My VB.NET program that I'm working on is downloading a historical stock price chart from Yahoo, for every single ticker symbol in existence. The first 50,000 rows or so I added was super fast. Then I went to bed, and when I woke up it was still running - but the rate of row additions has slowed waaaaaay down; I noticed this around row 300,000. I always expected the rate of row addition to be constant over time, but obviously this is not so!
From browsing other Stack Overflow questions, I suspect my slow down is related to my piss-poor table setup. If this is the case, where should I begin first to fix this, and are there any good resources I could read up on to get started? I'm hoping this is something simple I can fix [code]....
I'm adding a DateTime DataColumn to a DataTable like this:

Then when I try to add it to my datatable, if the value is Nothing I get an error saying string was not recognized as a valid DateTime. I'm having trouble getting this to work.
Any Way to add my .net (.exe) file to the startup by adding to registry? I also need to remove it from startup when I need it.

I have set up date parameter boxes with calendar drop down and they are able to send via email a URL link that would either display the report via ReportViewer or send a link that would let then view the report in Excel or PDF. This is working just fine. Now I just added a button for adding new email addresses and a new windows form with a textbox for entering the email address and a command button for Save Email Address. I get an error msg Quote: Objects added to a BindingSource's list must all be of the same type.[code]

I have a form(EmailContacts.vb) which contains a datagridview and a button(btnAdd) to add the data to a textbox of another form. My datagridview consist of 3 columns; CustName, Email and Selection. Selection column being the column with all the checkboxes. Everything is working fine and i can display data from the database on the datagridview properly.
The problem is how do i add a 'Select All' feature such that when the user clicked once on the 'Select All' checkbox, all the checkboxes in the 'Selection' column are selected?

View 10 RepliesI am opening an exe that launches in a hidden cmd window, and redirecting the text to a RichTextBox on a form. The problem is that the status messages in the cmd window are in color, but the redirected text in the RichTextBox has no color information and show as black on white. However, all the status messages in the cmd window have headers that could be parsed in some way so I can add color to them for my RichTextbox. For example, a message in the cmd window might read: [Warning] No settings file was found, using default values instead. This message is in Yellow in the cmd window.

I am trying to open an excel file and write to it as data becomes availableI can create an instance of excel and write to the selected worksheet once. But, I can't seem to write back to the existing file. I keep on getting a null reference error when I try to send new data to the file.The function I am using will run once, but when it returns to the main form, I lose the values of xlApp and xlWorksheet. It appears that going in to the function makes the original values null.
