VS 2005 Design - Separator/Page Break
Jun 23, 2009I want to achieve the same thing as highlighted in attached file, so called seperator or page break, but i'm unable to find this control in VS 2005, how to get this control?

VS 2005 Excel Automation - Insert A Page Break Into The Report
Oct 27, 2009I am writing a report to an excel template and am trying to insert a page break into the report. Part of my code is included:
Imports msWE = Microsoft.Office.Interop
Dim Rnge As msWE.Excel.Range = excelApp.Range("A20:M20")
Dim excelApp As New msWE.Excel.ApplicationClass
excelApp.Worksheets.HPageBreaks.Add(Rnge)
Now the pagebreak code executes but it does nothing. Its almost as if it is being ignored. Also I have heard that using Microsoft.Office.Interop is not a good idea as it is slow and unstable.

The app is generating letters in word and saving them....the code below shows where I am writing the first page (str.tostring) then all of the code after that are the various ways that I have tried to insert a page break so that it will go to the second page and I can unload information into the second page of the document. Feb 22, 2012I'm using Report Viewer(VS 2008) to make a report in VB.net. I add Table with Table Header, Table Detail, and Table Footer. Then insert a Table Group(table1_group1) and add expression =IntRowNumber Nothing-1/10 on that group. I check page breaks at end.
When I load the report its show normal :
page 1 : page header+ table header + table detail(10 list data) + page footer
page 2 : page header+ table header + table detail(5 list data) + table footer + page footer
But when I click Print Layout Icon its show an extra page(page 3):
page 1 : page header+ table header + table detail(10 list data) + page footer
page 2 : page header+ table header + table detail(5 list data) + page footer
page 3 : page header + table footer + page footer ( this is the error)
I also try to print the report and its print 3 page.
Filter Xml Using Xpath And Linq (price With Decimal Separator And Thousands Separator Spanish)?
Jun 7, 2012I'm trying to filter the results of a xml file. One of the fields I've been requested to filter is the attribute price of each node. The problem is the xml is from a spanish source and the prices are with decimal separator being , instead of . and thousands separator is , instead of .I'm trying to get an xml file filtered where only nodes withprices lower than one supplied appear.
The xml structure is:
<RoomStays>
<RoomStay InfoSource="" Price="201,60" Discount="0" MealPlan="Sólo alojamiento" MealPlanId="1" Provider="Marsol" ProviderId="3" HotelName="HOTEL LA ESTACION" Rating="" Latitud="" Longitud="">

I've tried to filter using XPath and Linq2Xml. I've come to the conclussion I have to replace , with . and . with , but I get 0 results.With values below 1000 where there is only , I've got it using:
doc.XPathSelectElements(./RoomStays/RoomStay[translate(@Price,',','.')<=256.78])
But when there are prices above 1000 with thousands separator . it doesn't work, so I tried:
doc.XPathSelectElements(./RoomStays/RoomStay[translate(translate(@Price,'.',''),',','.')<=256.78])
But it returns 0 results (I tried to use replace function instead of translate to remove the . characters but I get an exception).
Split String On Multi-char Separator And Maintain Separator
Jul 31, 2009Using VB.NET - I have a string:
"##RES00012##Some value ##RES00034##Another value"
That I want to split using the "##RES" as a seperator to:
"##RES00012## Some value " and "##RES00034## Another value"
The string.split function doesn't seem to offer an overload to split on multiple characters or array of characters and maintain the seperator, which is required for functional purposes.
I'm looking at simply searching for indexOf("##res") and using string manipulation to do this unless I'm missing something obvious? I've searched SO for a solution but unable to find anything that actually does what I'm after.

Page Break Routine For Text File?
Mar 7, 2012I have basic text report (.txt) that is created by a custom application. My client would like it to page break at a certain spot.
Does anyone have a routine that would allow me to insert PCL code into the file so that when printed it page breaks? I'd search for certain text and then insert the codes just prior to the text.
Certainly if someone has a better "mousetrap" then let me know.
Split A Crystal Reports Subreport Across A Page Break?
Nov 16, 2009I'm using Visual Studio 2005 and writing in VB.NET.I have a subreport in a Crystal Reports report consisting of a list of log entries. Sometimes the list of log entries is long enough that it would extend onto the next page. What I see happening is that the list appears on the next page, leaving a big blank space at the bottom of the first page.
I've tried unchecking the "Keep Together" boxes in the "Experts" in a number of different places (sections, groups, etc.) but see no change in the output.I'm guessing that this isn't the right way to go, but do you know what is?

The problem is, if the data in the for each loop extends to next page, I want the entire data in for loop to move to next page. I think of adding a page count integer and verify it with starting and ending to determine and change the page.The problem is I dont know how to insert a page break at a specified line number. page break is Word.WdBreakType.wdPageBreak but how to insert it at a line number?

I can't exactly remember what it was called although I seem to think it was "break all". I know this has something to do with the setup/layout/whatever MS called it, I picked when I first installed VS. I went into the options and couldn't find a way to enable it. It is disabled if you enable "edit and continue" or something?

For me it looks like a lot of overhead. How can I improve then design and only specify that I'm working on the following record in dropdown list without specifying the Case condition every time? Should I change my design or leave it like it is?
